To Be Yours Again novel (Jenny and Alex) -
Chapter 1063 Go to the OB/GYN if You're Pregnant
"Yes, ma'am," Alec answered obediently like a schoolboy. Feeling defeated, she nagged him a bit and hung up.
He put his phone away and decided to let loose since Jenny had learned the truth. He marched into his study, turned on the lights, and started working.
Then, his phone chimed as a text arrived. He checked the text-it was from Jenny. "Rest early!"
He lifted his gaze and saw her standing by her window, staring right at him. He had no choice but to leave the study. This time, he went to rest in the bedroom instead of working. He wasn't mad at her for being controlling; he was glad she cared about him. She wouldn't have spent her time keeping a check on him otherwise.
He swiftly drifted into sleep with the lovely thought. That night, he had a pleasant dream.
On the next day, Jenny went to work again. Before that, she called Alec, as usual, to check on his condition. She felt more assured after learning that he was fine. He had age on his side, but everyone would eventually age. Once again, she reminded him to take good care of himself.
Jenny was scheduled for outpatient consultations today and was in her office early, waiting for her patients. To her surprise, her first patient of the day was a familiar face. She stared at Marigold Wagner, and her gaze traveled to Marigold's baby bump. "You're pregnant?"
"Yes." Marigold nodded, looking a little sheepish.
Jenny frowned and advised, "Go to the OB/GYN if you're pregnant. This is the neurosurgery department."
"No. I have a headache," Marigold hurriedly explained. She was reluctant to go for a consultation, especially when Jenny was the doctor on the shift. She would have picked a different date if she had known. Jenny realized that Marigold wasn't kidding, and she put on a serious face. "When did the symptoms start?"
"It started when I was pregnant, but it wasn't too bad back then. Now, it's gotten out of hand." While explaining, Marigold held her forehead-it was obvious that she had been suffering from a headache up to that moment.
Jenny had a bad feeling about the symptom. A headache was either a sign of serious underlying issues or the patient's illusion when nothing was wrong.
As she prepared for a checkup, she directed her gaze at the baby bump. "I'd suggest a brain CT scan, but you're pregnant now. The scan might affect the baby to a certain extent." "How would that affect my baby?" Marigold started feeling nervous.
"Well, I can't be sure. Most of the time, it wouldn't affect the baby too much, but there are exceptions. It's up to you." The CT scan involved radiation, and Jenny would prefer to leave the decision-making to Marigold.
She seemed torn but finally shook her head. "Forget about it. Can you prescribe me some meds that won't affect the baby? I'll go for a checkup after the baby's born." "Think carefully. If your headache is getting serious, it might be a hint of something bad," Jenny advised, thinking that the mother's life was more important than the child's. Marigold nodded with a smile and replied, "I've made the decision. I think I have a headache because I haven't been sleeping well and thinking too much after getting pregnant."
Marigold had not enjoyed a good night's sleep since she found out she was pregnant. She feared that others would replace out about her pregnancy, but at the same time, she hoped they would. The contradictory feelings tormented her on countless sleepless nights.
