To Be Yours Again novel (Jenny and Alex)
Chapter 1071 What if She Only Loves Your Money?

"No way! We have to go now!" They could wait, but Marigold's baby couldn't.

If they were to get married, they had to do it early; otherwise, replaceing a suitable wedding dress would be difficult as her stomach grew bigger.

After hanging up, Jenny took a taxi to Zack's place. Meanwhile, Zack looked defeated after the call.

"What's wrong?" Janet sat beside him, sensing that he was in a terrible mood.

Zack sighed and told her what happened. In his opinion, Janet was part of his circle, so he had nothing to hide from her. Hearing the news, Janet fell silent.

"Based on my knowledge of Gilbert, even if he knows that Marigold is pregnant, he won't marry her. If Jenny insists on bringing me with her, I foresee that we won't be having a pleasant talk at his place," Zack deduced.

Hearing that, Janet finally came to her senses. "But...shouldn't Gilbert be held accountable?"

In her opinion, regardless of whether Marigold had deceived him, the child was his; even if he didn't like Marigold, he should still take the child into consideration.

"If only it were that simple," Zack said, not paying too much heed to Janet's opinion. He figured she would take Jenny and Marigold's side as she was also a woman.

Zack rose from his seat and headed to the door, waiting for Jenny to arrive.

Janet trailed behind him and asked softly, "Do you want me to go with you guys?"

"No thanks. Gilbert will be even more unhappy if you go," Zack said without filtering his thoughts.

It wasn't until he had said it that he couldn't salvage the situation. "Janet, I didn't mean like that."

"I know, Zack. I know Gilbert doesn't like me," Janet said with a wry smile. In fact, she had always been aware of it.

"Don't think too much about it. I will take care of everything," Zack assured her. He had already decided to be with Janet, regardless of whether Gilbert liked her or not. Moreover, Gilbert had no say in his love life.

Hearing that, Janet felt a little relieved. "Okay, I understand."

Just then, Jenny's car pulled up in front of them. Poking her head out the window, she called, "Let's go, Zack."

"Janet, please head back in. You'll have to have dinner by yourself tonight as Jenny and I probably won't be coming back." They would probably have dinner if they went to Gilbert's place.

Janet nodded and gestured for him to enter the car. She then nodded at Jenny as a gesture of greeting.

Janet knew that Jenny was just like Gilbert; they both didn't like her. The only difference was that Jenny was less obvious about it. However, Janet didn't hold any grudges against Jenny. After all, her past wasn't the best. If Jenny meant Zack well, it would only be expected of her not to like Janet.

After Zack got in the car, Jenny started the car and drove away. After a while, she couldn't help but ask, "Do you really like Janet that much?"

"Yes." Zack didn't elaborate. His actions and behavior had been clear enough, so Jenny should be aware of it too.

Jenny didn't know what to say. "Aren't you afraid she's tricking you? What if she doesn't love you at all but only loves your money?"

"Then I'll work harder to earn more money," Zack said.

That caught Jenny by surprise, rendering her speechless.

Zack laughed at the sight. "Jenny, don't worry about me and Janet. You have to trust my judgment. I won't misjudge a person."

Jenny didn't comment, but she thought, "You've never even been in a relationship. How can you trust your own judgment?"

However, she didn't say it aloud. After all, she didn't want to sour her relationship with Zack. For the time being, they had to focus on solving the issue between Gilbert and Marigold.
