To Be Yours Again novel (Jenny and Alex)
Chapter 1100 Does It Still Matter?

When Gilbert and Zack learned that Jenny was going abroad with Evan, they put aside their previous disagreements and went to see Jenny together in a united stand. "Jenny, have you gone crazy? How could you agree to go abroad with Evan?" Zack was struggling to control himself. He had half a mind to go and fight Evan over it.

Jenny had never been away from them for too long since she was young. According to Evan, they didn't know when they would come back. How could they bear to let her go with him? Gilbert added, "Jenny, I know you're grateful to him for saving you. But sacrificing yourself just because of gratitude isn't a wise move. Are you going to ruin yourself because of him?" Jenny looked at her two brothers and was moved. However, she didn't tell them the truth. They might get too impulsive and alert Evan if she revealed everything to them at that point. She'd already discovered Evan's true identity, and because she knew how dangerous he really was, she wouldn't voluntarily put the people around her in danger.

"Gilbert, Zack, I understand what you mean, but I have made up my mind. Please don't try to persuade me otherwise," Jenny said firmly, leaving Gilbert and Zack stunned.

Seeing how determined she was, they knew there was nothing they could do.

Even so, they did their best to dissuade Jenny despite their exasperation at her decision. "Jenny, think about it. Are you really going to leave like this? Are you really going to leave me and Gilbert behind?" "Zack, I'll come back. We'll be back when Evan is cured," Jenny said.

Cured? Zack couldn't help but almost let it slip that he felt Evan would never be cured in his lifetime. He looked at Gilbert, standing beside him silently, and nudged his arm. "Hey, it's your turn to say something."

"Jenny, have you really made up your mind? Are you sure you won't regret it?" Gilbert asked.

Jenny nodded. "Don't worry, Gilbert. I know what I'm doing."

She couldn't tell them she wouldn't go abroad because it was all Evan's scheme. All she could do was convince them not to worry about her.

Gilbert sighed and didn't know what to say for a while. "I really regret bringing him back to the country right now."

He thought Evan was better than Alec and trusted him to take care of Jenny. But now, it seemed that Alec was better.

Zack immediately piled the blame on Gilbert when he heard that. "Yes, it was you! You brought that guy back! All this happened because of you!"

"Zack, stop it. Gilbert didn't mean it. I don't blame him," Jenny said unhappily.

"Jenny, you're just too kind," Zack replied angrily.

Their attempts at dissuading Jenny from going abroad went on for a while, but it was ultimately ineffective. In the end, they could only leave helplessly. However, they didn't leave the villa. Instead, they came out of Jenny's room and went straight to Evan's room to confront him.

Evan didn't talk back to them but simply stated, "I didn't force Jenny. If she hadn't been willing to go, we wouldn't have come to this decision."

Zack was infuriated by his words. It was obvious that he knew Jenny's personality and knew she wouldn't refuse. That was why he made the unreasonable demand.

"How despicable! He's way too shameless!" Zack cursed vehemently in his heart.

"Evan, did you agree to return to the country back then because I convinced you to?" Gilbert had started to doubt Evan's initial intentions. It wasn't he who convinced Evan, but rather Evan was already planning to return to the country and happened to meet him.

Evan looked up at him with a slight smile on his lips. "Does it still matter?"

Indeed, did that still matter now?

No matter the situation at the time, things had developed way beyond expectation, and the past didn't seem to matter as much anymore.
