To Be Yours Again novel (Jenny and Alex)
Chapter 1268 He Shouldn't Stay By That Kid's Side

Jenny couldn't help wanting to laugh when she saw Old Mr. Faust disciplining Alec. "Don't worry, Grandpa. If he fails to cherish me again, I won't give him any more chances."

This was Alec's last chance.

"Jenny..." Alec smiled bitterly. Why did everyone think he would be bad to her?

He'd finally pursued her after so many hardships. Now they were about to marry. Why wouldn't he cherish her? In fact, he wanted to tie her up in his room and lock her up forever.

"Alright, alright. You can go to the kitchen to see how things are going. I'll talk with Jenny." Old Mr. Faust waved his hands, shooing Alec off to the kitchen.

Alec had no choice but to go to the kitchen. Before that, he cast an uneasy glance at the old man. "Don't you dare say anything stupid to Jenny, Grandpa."

He didn't want Old Mr. Faust to keep talking about his terrible history. What if Jenny suddenly regretted things?

"Oh, go and make yourself busy." Old Mr. Faust ignored him. He brought up all those things so that Alec would know to cherish Jenny.

Alec went to the kitchen, leaving Jenny and Old Mr. Faust in the living room.

"Jenny, I'm really happy to see you two getting together." He looked at Jenny, his smile sincere.

Jenny smiled, too. She knew he was very stubborn about Alec ending up with her, so she understood him.

"Grandpa, you knew of my identity and wanted me to end up with Alec so that I could help the Fausts. But what about now? Alec is the head of the Faust family. He doesn't seem to need me anymore," Jenny said curiously.

Old Mr. Faust had his schemes, but now it seemed they had vanished into thin air.

At these words, Old Mr. Faust seemed embarrassed. He used to care too much about the Fausts' development. Once he knew that Jenny was a Walter, he made Alec marry her, and even after their divorce, he wanted them to be together.

But then...

He smiled. "I'm old, but I was young, once. I could tell that Alec truly liked you, and you had some sort of feeling for him too. I had no reason not to support you."

"You're so good to Alec," Jenny said from the bottom of her heart. She could tell that as long as Alec liked something, Old Mr. Faust wouldn't deny it.

It was just that Alec had not fallen for anyone else throughout all these years.

Old Mr. Faust sighed. He looked at the kitchen. "He was brought up by me. Since young, I nurtured him to be the successor of the Fausts. He didn't have a happy childhood. Now that he's older and much stronger, I want him to be happy and to spend the remainder of his life with someone he loves."

At the mention of Alec's past, Jenny grew solemn. "It's already in the past. Things will look up in the future."

"Yes, they will." Old Mr. Faust believed that. He just wasn't sure how much of it he'd be able to witness. "Has Mortimer seen you?" he suddenly asked.

Jenny shook her head. "Alfred brought him over during New Year's, but other than that, we haven't seen him."

Alec didn't care if Mortimer died, and Jenny wouldn't care either. She didn't check on him. However, she guessed that he was most probably with Alfred now.

Old Mr. Faust sighed, then said, "If you see him in the future, get him to return to Parrington. He shouldn't stay by that kid's side and affect his future."

Although he refused to accept Alfred as part of his family, some things couldn't be changed.
