To Be Yours Again novel (Jenny and Alex)
Chapter 1270 Other Intentions

They ate around the dining table. It was a harmonious sight.

When Old Mr. Faust heard they wanted to go to Orchid Village the next day, he suggested following them along. Alec didn't really agree with that.

"You'd better not go, Grandpa. It's too far." They had to drive for several hours, and Alec was worried about his health.

Old Mr. Faust knew what Alec meant, but he was insistent. "If I don't go now, I might not be able to again. I need to pay my respects to my friend."

Jenny's grandfather was his friend for many years. It was he who told him of Jenny's identity, and that was when they arranged for Alec and Jenny's marriage. When he died, Old Mr. Faust had no means to attend the funeral when he died. Now that he was at his end, he had to at least pay his respects. Otherwise, he wouldn't know what to say to him when they met in the afterlife.

"Grandpa..." Alec frowned.

This time, Jenny stood on Old Mr. Faust's side. "Just let him go. The air in Orchid Village is fresh. His mood might improve over there."

"There you go. Look at Jenny. She can think in my shoes," Old Mr. Faust praised. He glared at Alec.

Alec was speechless. It was as if Jenny was his grandchild and not him.

"You two have already decided on it. What else can I say?" Alec shrugged. Although it was physically taxing for Old Mr. Faust, emotionally, it would be good for him. With chatter and laughter, the meal soon ended.

Old Mr. Faust's body was no longer like before. After the meal, Warren brought him back to his room for a nap. However, Jenny and Alec were energetic. They decided to walk around Parrington. As they made their decision, Jenny received a call from Joey Little. She was surprised. "Joey?"

"Are you in Parrington, Jen?" Joey's voice sounded through the receiver. He had seen Jenny's post on social media. Once he knew that she was in Parrington, he called her at once. "Yeah." Then she asked, "How are your studies lately? The final exams are coming soon. Are you well prepared?"

"I am. I won't let you down," Joey said.

Jenny was satisfied with that. Although helping Joey was a casual gesture on her part, it was enough to change the course of his life. Jenny was very happy about it.

"Why don't I treat you to dinner, Jen? It's been a while since I've seen you." Joey was hesitant, but he finally invited her out. He was anxious and afraid that she would reject him. However, Jenny accepted it immediately. "Alright. I'll treat you to dinner."

Afterward, they settled on a time and date before hanging up.

Jenny turned to see Alec looking at her, upset. "Was that the kid you helped?"

"Yes. He wants to treat me to dinner. He's grown up so much. What a good kid," Jenny said, smiling happily.

Alec was not as happy as she was. "Why does he want to treat you to dinner? Does he have other intentions?"

"Alec! What are you thinking?" Jenny glared at him. He was absurd. Joey was just a child in her eyes. What else could he be thinking?

"I don't care. I'm going with you tonight." He would never let Jenny eat alone with that kid.

Logically speaking, he was supposed to be at ease. He and Jenny were about to marry, after all. However, Alec was not relaxed at all. The closer they were to their wedding date, the more anxious he felt. He did not want anything to disrupt their marriage.
