Letta immediately opened her eyes wide. She woke up with a fearful expression, then looked around, trying to focus her gaze. The smell of medicine immediately permeated her sense of smell, making Letta realize that she was currently inside a hospital. However, her last memory made Letta jerk and sit up straight.

Letta looked at her wrist, which had an IV tube attached. Then she glanced at the clothes she was wearing, realizing she was dressed as a patient. The room was quiet, with no one accompanying her, and the one person that now flashed in her memory was the condition of her husband, which prompted Letta to forcibly remove the IV tube and get off the bed, walking unsteadily because her head still felt heavy.

Letta tried to leave the room, and there were four guards standing in front of her door.

"Madam, are you awake?" one of them asked, making Letta nod her head.

"Where is Marco?" Letta asked, making them look at each other.

"The master is still unconscious," one of them replied.

"Where is he being treated?" Letta asked again, making the guards look at the same room where Pedro was sitting outside.

"I will go there," Letta said, and they slowly walked towards Pedro, who immediately straightened up.

"Madam, you're not allowed to leave yet. The doctor said you still need to rest," Pedro said, making Letta shake her head.

"No, I have to see Marco right now," Letta said, which finally made Pedro nod.

"But the master is still unconscious," Pedro said again.

"I will stay by his side," Letta said.

"Then, what about your condition? You're also currently weak," Pedro said.

"I'm fine, Pedro. I want to see my husband right now," Letta said, which ultimately left Pedro no choice but to let Letta in.

Letta stopped in her tracks when she reached the doorway, seeing Marco wearing the same clothes as her, but what set them apart was his body wrapped in so many bandages covering the wounds that filled his entire body. This made Letta unable to hold back her tears. Letta walked slowly and then sat right by Marco's bedside.

"Darling, it's me," Letta said weakly. Letta then reached out her hand, tightly gripping her husband's hand.

"Pedro said you're still unconscious. Why, why, are you still feeling tired? Are you still in pain?" Letta asked, trying to communicate with her husband, knowing that Marco must be listening to her.

"But please wake up soon. I worry about you, I'm really scared," Letta said, finally bowing her head to Marco's arm, her tears dripping onto her husband's skin.

"I beg you, recover quickly and return to normal. Be my strong husband, be the husband who always protects me," Letta said. After that, she looked up, looking at Marco who remained still. He seemed too tired to open his eyes. Letta didn't know what else to talk about. She just sat quietly, continuously stroking the back of her husband's hand. Letta didn't know how much time had passed when a nurse entered to check on Marco's condition. "Madam Letta, you should be in your room," the nurse said, making Letta shake her head.

"No, I want to be by my husband's side," Letta replied.

"But Mr. Marco is still unconscious, and it will definitely affect his condition. It's better if Mr. Marco isn't visited too often like this. Besides, you also need rest. Your condition is not fully recovered yet," the nurse said, making Letta finally look outside the room and call for Pedro, who immediately entered and faced Letta.

"Pedro, please tell the hospital staff that I want to move to the room where Marco is. I don't want my room to be separated from Marco," Letta said, making Pedro look at the nurse.

"Nurse, can I speak with you first?" Pedro said, making the nurse nod. Letta was confident that Pedro could do anything they instructed, as Marco had mentioned that Pedro was competent enough to do anything they asked. Letta truly didn't want to be separated from Marco. She was afraid that something might happen if they were apart from each other. Shortly after that, Letta saw Pedro re-enter the room.

"Mr. Marco will be moved to the same room as you, and the room will be changed. It's better if you sit in the wheelchair for now. I will take you to the new room, and Mr. Marco will be attended to by other nurses," Pedro said, now pushing an empty wheelchair, making Letta nod. Letta immediately sat in the wheelchair, while Marco was taken over by the other nurses. They were transferred to a larger room with two beds for them. Here, Letta could look at Marco and accompany him whenever she wanted. Letta then looked at Pedro after the nurses left.

"How is Marco doing?" Letta asked again.

"Sir sustained quite severe injuries, and after undergoing surgery and several stitches, his condition is really weak. But the doctor said everything will be fine. We just have to wait for Sir to regain consciousness," Pedro said, making Letta nod. "Thank goodness for that. We just have to wait for Marco to feel like he's not tired anymore, right?" Letta said, making Pedro silent, observing how Letta's worried face looked at her husband. "You should rest too. I will stay outside, and I have arranged for some people to guard around this hospital," Pedro said again, making Letta turn around.

"What about that old man?" Letta asked, remembering Lemos.

"He has received the punishment he deserves. I have made sure he will rot in jail," Pedro said, making Letta heave a long sigh.

"Thank goodness," Letta said, feeling somewhat relieved that the person who tried to harm her and Marco would never be able to come close again, until Letta looked back at Marco, who was still comfortable closing his eyes. Letta reached out her hand and gently stroked Marco's face.

"That old man has been taken care of properly by Pedro. No one will try to hurt us anymore. Everything is safe now. Isn't it time for you to wake up? Why don't you want to accompany me? I feel really lonely and scared," Letta said plaintively, making Pedro, who heard her, stay silent before choosing to wait outside the room, allowing Letta to accompany Marco.

Letta didn't know how long she tried to talk to Marco, even without any response. Until finally, she fell asleep by Marco's side, sitting with her face now resting on Marco's arm. Unbeknownst to Letta, Marco slowly began to move his fingers and open his eyes, trying to see the ceiling of the room he now occupied. Marco winced a little when he felt his head throbbing heavily, but his movements stopped when he felt his arm pinned down by something. Marco tried to look at Letta, who was now sleeping right next to him, but he furrowed his brow when he saw his wife's face.
