Letta and Arabella were currently in the hospital garden, looking at a woman sitting in a wheelchair. The woman seemed to be just staring ahead with a vacant look. Then, Letta turned to the nurse. "Is her condition worsening?" Letta asked again, making the nurse nod her head.

"Yes, since the incident, she has even had seizures several times. She also sometimes gets hysterical," the nurse said, making Letta go silent. It indicated that her presence before the woman had a significant impact, making Letta more convinced that the woman knew her.

"Does she still have any family?" Letta asked again, making the nurse pause for a moment.

"Actually, I also had a little trouble with my memory, so I want to make sure whether I know that person or not. I'm also one of the patients here. You know, Doctor Travis, he's the one who treated me," Letta said to reassure the nurse, finally making her nod.

"Yes, there is a family that sometimes visits her. However, they don't visit too often, only every few months to make sure of her condition. For payment, they always do it through transfers. We only give them updates over the phone when the family can't see her in person," the nurse explained, making Letta nod. It showed that the woman didn't have anyone truly taking care of her in the hospital.

"How long has she been in this hospital?" Letta asked again.

"I'm not sure because I also just joined this hospital as a new employee. However, during my time here, it seems like the mother has been treated here first," the nurse said. "So, how long?" Letta asked again.

"I don't know, maybe around 2 years," the nurse replied, making Letta and Arabella widen their eyes.

"She's been treated for that long, and there hasn't been any progress?" Arabella asked, making the nurse nod her head.

"Yes, actually, we've also suggested that the woman be transferred to another hospital that might be able to help her condition, but the family refused. They were convinced that the woman was just unwell. Her family rejected the idea that she was experiencing mental disturbances," the nurse said, making Arabella shake her head.

"But sometimes, she would seem normal. She appeared calmer, and only when her anxiety began to show, she would sometimes become hysterical. However, in recent months, her condition has worsened. We've been informing the family, but there hasn't been any response yet," the nurse said, making Arabella feel something constricting upon hearing the woman's condition.

"What's her name?" Letta asked.

"Mrs. Merry. She's 53 years old," the nurse said, which for some reason made Letta feel familiar with the name.

"If I approach her, will she become hysterical?" Letta asked, making the nurse go silent.

"I can't be sure, but she's been quite calm these past few days. Maybe you can help her. I'll call in some male nurses to make sure she doesn't get hysterical again," the nurse said, making Letta nod. The nurse then left, making Letta look at Arabella.

"Are you sure you want to do this? What if he harms you again when he returns? It will become a prolonged issue, especially with your husband if he replaces out," Arabella said, making Letta tense. For some reason, she was confident that she could talk to the woman.

"No, I can handle it. If anything happens, you can scream or help me, right?" Letta said, causing Arabella to sigh in annoyance. Arabella was just about to refuse Letta's request when Letta slowly walked towards the woman, leaving Arabella staring at her in disbelief.

Carefully, Letta observed the woman who truly seemed like an empty shell. Eventually, Letta knelt in front of the woman, who seemed to be looking in her direction. The woman's eyes widened, and she was about to react when Letta tightly grasped her hand.

"I apologize," Letta said, a sentence that somehow slipped out on its own, causing the woman to freeze. Merry could only feel her hand weakening as she heard Letta's voice.

"I apologize for all my mistakes. I don't know what I did to make you this angry. I was also very surprised by the anger in your eyes, but I really don't know what I did wrong. So, please tell me what my mistake was," Letta said, looking up, gazing into the eyes that were now glistening. This even made Letta feel the deep sadness from the melancholic expression and teary eyes. And the next moment, Letta could feel the mother's trembling hand, which was tightly held in her

own.

"I beg you, don't hurt me or don't get hysterical like before. I just need to hear what my mistake was. After that, I can punish myself. Or maybe you want me to do it in front of you? I will do it," Letta said, trying to persuade the woman, when suddenly her hand was firmly touched. The mother gripped her wheelchair tightly with her trembling hands.

"Why did you appear in front of me again? You have taken Sean away from my life," Merry said, her voice trembling, leaving Letta, who was still staring at her, furrowing her brow.

"Sean, who is he?" Letta asked again.

"Don't pretend to be ignorant. You took someone's life, and you easily forgot about it just like that. You look like an angel, but you are a demon in my life," Merry said, making Letta even more confused by her words.

"I beg you, listen to my explanation. I have lost my memory for almost 2 years. I don't know what happened in my previous life, and I somehow feel confident that I know you. That's why I came to you to ask if you know me. So, how was our relationship before? I still don't remember you or the person named Sean that you mentioned," Letta said, making the woman clench her fists. Letta glanced at Arabella, the nurse, and several other nurses who were still watching from a distance.

"There are nurses and caregivers standing there. If you continue to be hysterical and can't control your anger, you may be put back in isolation and given medication and injections. So, please try to calm down. I just need to talk to you. If you do know me or if Ihave done something wrong, you need to tell me, and I will accept the punishment I deserve," Letta said, still trying to speak calmly, as Merry looked around, seeing several nurses as Letta had mentioned.

"Can you hold back your emotions for a moment when looking at me? Because I really need your explanation. I don't remember anything about my past self. So, even if Ihave a major mistake, it doesn't seem fair if I easily forget it, as you said. So, help me remember," Letta said again, looking at Merry's face, which was now calmer. She had released her grip, her breath had also started to calm down, making Letta feel that Merry was now ready to talk.

"So, can you tell me everything, what happened to me, to you, and also to your child named Sean? I need your help, and I might also be able to help you replace Sean if my memory returns. That's why I came back to this hospital, even though you tried to hurt me and even kill me," Letta said again, causing the mother to suddenly cry in front of Letta. Tears streamed down her face, making Letta widen her eyes, seeing the profound sadness on Merry's face.
