Chapter 246

Chapter 246

The wind was as cool as water at night. Molly and Benjamin were walking away from the banquet, andthe noise gradually faded.

“What did she say to you, and who was she? Why do I have the impression that you two aren’t gettingalong?” Benjamin inquired. Molly did not take Abigail seriously, and when Benjamin inquired, she simplyinformed him casually.

“I’m not sure. When she saw me, she wanted to introduce me to a job, and then she wanted to introduceme to you, the genius doctor. I’m sure she had her own thoughts on people and things.” Molly did not sayanything about what Abigail had done to her before, and Benjamin just frowned.

“I can’t believe she’s so cunning. You should keep your distance from her,” said Benjamin. He meant thathe was concerned that Molly would suffer due to that scheming lady.

Molly, on the other hand, was unconcerned. After a brief conversation, Benjamin excused himselfbecause he could not stay any longer and needed to entertain other guests. Molly remained behind, sitting alone on the stone bench outside. When Sean went outside to take a breather, he noticedsomeone sitting on the stone bench.

She dressed up in a special evening gown for tonight. The obsidian black gown lightened hercomplexion. Her facial features were better reflected with the lighter make-up. The waist design madeher figure look slim. She appears delicate but with a mature woman’s charm. This woman was stunningand flourishing among all the other women at the banquet. Sean’s gaze had been drawn to her.

On the other hand, Sean dressed up for tonight’s banquet in a formal, tailored black suit. Even in awheelchair, he could not keep his aura at bay; the mysterious dark night encircled him, making himappear even more handsome than usual.

Molly locked her gaze on Sean. “What a coincidence to see you here,” she said, smiling,

Sean said with a smile, “It’s just a coincidence. Why have you been sitting here all this time? A lot isgoing on there.”

“I’m not used to events like this,” Molly said, shaking her head. Molly does not feel like herself at thebanquet and is surrounded by people like Abigail. She was bored and speechless about them.

‘No wonder I didn’t notice her inside earlier,’ Sean thought. He came to a halt next to Molly in hiswheelchair.

“Actually, I dislike such occasions as well. I can’t say no because the company has a lot of clients,” Seanstated.

Molly has known since the first day she met him that he is a workaholic, aside from being an injuredperson. He spent most of his time entertaining clients at banquets.

“Have you had any drinks?” Molly inquired. She made sure Sean was aware of it. “Dr. May had warnedme before, and I wouldn’t dare to disobey,” Sean laughed, and Molly nodded satisfyingly. They wereabout to say something else when Sean’s client found him and came to him. “Mr. Anderson, you’vearrived!” exclaimed the client. He noticed Sean and came over to greet him, “How is Mr. Anderson Sr? Ihaven’t seen him in a long time.”

That man was Sean’s newest client, Mr. Lane. Mr. Lane was working with the Anderson Corporation. Hewas a friendly man who, unlike his other clients, was able to strike up a conversation with Sean.

Mr. Lane noticed Molly standing beside Sean at that moment. They were standing so close that Mr. Lanecouldn’t help but wonder, “Mr. Anderson, could this be your fiancée?”

Mr. Lane continued before Sean could respond, “I heard you have a fiancée, and only after seeing her inperson did I realize she’s a stunning woman. You’re a very fortunate man.”
