Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas) -
Chapter 182
Chapter 0182
I took a photo of Claudia as she was being brought ay by the police and sent it to Yasmine.
I had asked her to report the progress of the case in real time under the name of Jay Caldwell & Co. I wanted an explanation for myself as well as for the people following up on my case.
All of the women who had been threatened by scums with their private photos were waiting to see the outcome of the case.
If things went wrong and the perpetrator did not face any consequences, there would only be more victims like me in the future!
I stood in the hospital's corridor and looked down the end of the corridor. Nicholas was there.
First and foremost, I was willing to take on all responsibility when it came to Daniel's situation. However, Nicholas had to apologize to
me!
On my way to the hospital, I had purposefully chosen a matching black suit and a pair of high heels to boost my confidence. But as I walked on the soft carpet of the VIP lounge, I felt myself deflate, losing all of my momentum.
I clenched my hands tightly and tried to cheer myself up. At the same time, I found my situation somewhat amusing.
What was wrong with me? Was I that afraid of seeing him? He wasn't a monster that could eat me, I came here for an explanation,
not to reminisce.
After thinking things through, I felt much more at ease as I felt
lighter, and my steps were slightly quicker.
But the second I got to his door, I immediately saw Jasmine sitting. by his bedside while the two of them seemed to be discussing something through the glass pane.
The sunlight in the ward was perfect as it shone on his hair. He had lowered his head slightly, revealing the soft gaze in his eyes.
The guest room in Coral Villa was very interesting. Although ther windows were small, the sunlight seemed to love beautiful people.
Every morning, he would kiss me when the morning sun came shining in. He would always enjoy waking me up with a kiss as he claimed I would always be very compliant during that time and would do anything he asked.
I would purposefully wrap my arms around his neck, causing him to be late for work, or preventing him from sending Claudia to school.
My heart dropped at the sight. Turns out, I wasn't the only one he would look at with such a gentle gaze.
Jasmine's eyes sparkled as she looked at him. His side profile was perfect. No woman would be able to resist falling for such a perfect. face.
Not to mention, the person in question was Nicholas, someone who had rescued her from the darkness when she was young.
I smiled self-deprecatingly. I wanted to speak up and interrupt the peaceful sight before me, but there seemed to be something stuck in my throat, making me feel like I was in pain.
The hand that had been prepared to knock froze for a long time before I said with a trembling voice, "Open the door!"

I turned the handle but soon realized that the door was locked! My
voice had startled them.
ook at me
Jasmine was holding a document in her hand and quickly used it to cover her mouth. On the other hand, Nicholas turned through the glass pane on the door.
His gaze had turned ice-cold without an ounce of warmth.
The situation felt utterly ridiculous. As his wife, I had been locked outside, while he was inside the ward with another woman.
I kept telling myself that I was there to ask him for an explanation, not to catch him with another woman. So, I stood up straight and frowned.
Jasmine finally came to her senses and quickly ran toward the door. The second she opened the door, the document in her hand
immediately came into sight.
"In Vitro Fertilization Plan."
How far had they progressed? Back when I wanted to have Nicholas' child, I had suspected that there was something wrong with my body. I had even looked up how an IVF would work. Basically, both parties would need to undergo a medical checkup before the doctor would be able to compile a plan based on their conditions.
The sight of that small report made me feel as if multiple daggers were stabbing into my heart.
