True Love
(Book 2) – Chapter 80

They spent the day remodeling Jack’s room, leaving it to Megan’s taste. In the afternoon Rodrigo and Jack took the ladies to San Antonio to buy what they needed for the celebration, while they made orders for the ranch.

− So you want me to be your best man at your wedding, after punching me! She said rubbing the spot where Jack had hit her.

− You know well that you deserved it, and I also apologized.

− Yes, but that doesn’t make up for the blow!

− And what the hell do you want? They were both having a few beers in a bar they frequented when they used to go to the city.

− I would like you to sell me a piece of land, near the stream.

− And why do you want it?

− I want to build a small house, I don’t want to be in the barracks anymore.

− I have told you many times to move home.

− I want privacy, Jack.

− Hmm…I understand. Is it because of Melisa?

− Isn’t the best man supposed to be the one who gives the wedding gifts?

− Well, I already gave you a good gift, great advice.

− Okay, I’ll sell you the land!

− Well, how long will the girls take?

He had no idea what the girls were buying, but they had been shopping for many hours and he was already getting impatient. This is what the life of a married man would be like when his wife went out shopping.

− I don’t know!

− Well, I don’t think a wedding is that easy to organize, you left me very surprised when you told me that Megan’s baby is yours.

− Imagine my surprise!

− Nobody imagined it, you are so stubborn that we all thought you would stay single for the rest of your life.

− I think we should go to that shopping center where we left them. She told her to change the subject.

− Hmm… Well you’re the boss!

Melisa and Megan were having some sandwiches in a nice cafe, surrounded by bags with purchases for both the baby’s clothes and for Megan herself, since she had not brought enough, since her plans were not to stay, much less get married. .

− We bought a lot of things Megan, I think we went a little overboard.

− I don’t think so, it will be very difficult to leave the ranch again when the baby is older.

− Aren’t you exhausted?

− I am, but it was worth it. These dry pastas are very good, I’m going for more.

− Megan, you ate more than half a dozen! Hey! She looks, here come the boys.

Jack made her nervous, it didn’t matter that they were close to getting married, he altered her senses and made her b***d boil.

− Finding them has been quite an odyssey, it didn’t occur to me that they could be eating. Jack said looking at her fiancée.

− Megan was hungry, I’m sorry if it took us too long.

− They have bought the entire shopping center.

− We needed a lot of things, and she hadn’t bought anything for the baby. They took her crib to the ranch two hours ago.

− You would have waited for me to choose one. Jack said, not very satisfied with her decision.

− Oh sorry! I thought you were very busy with errands at the ranch, I didn’t think, well, I’m sorry.

− Don’t worry, it sure is a nice crib. He told her in a soft tone, she had felt that he had made her feel bad by complaining about her.

− Well, it’s time to go. Rodrigo told him, picking up some bags.

− Yes, but first I’m going to order more of these pastries and some chocolate almond desserts I saw.

− I’ll buy them from you. Jack told her, he hoped that with that she could soften how rude he had been a moment ago.

Megan was organizing the baby’s clothes in the new closet she had ordered for the boy, while she watched Jack try to put the crib together.

− This crib is quite strange Megan.

− But she was the prettiest there was. Can’t you put it together? She told him, suppressing a smile.

− Of course I can put it together. What question is that?

− Well, you’re telling me that it’s strange.

− I’ll put it together in a moment! And do not laugh.

− Okay… I bought a lot of clothes for the baby.

− You have bought a lot of everything.

− For a baby it is never too much, they use many things.

− I think you women exaggerate.

− You must learn these things Jack.

− I guess! I can’t concentrate on this, I need to relax. Come here.

− What will you do?

− I’ve been wanting to k**s you all day.

− And what is happening with all this disorder? She told him, straddling him.

− All that can wait, making love to you can’t!

The wedding day arrived as quickly as dawn, everything was prepared for a small simple ceremony that was going to be held on the same ranch, Melisa, Rodrigo and Grisell had decorated the back of the house with wildflowers. Only a few guests had been invited, mostly Jack’s neighbors and other ranch employees.

The priest had come from the town to the house to start the celebration, after some stress, Megan and Jack were officially married. Everyone began to enjoy the party, many couples danced to Alan Jackson’s company while others chatted happily at the tables.

The bride and groom, as is the tradition, went from table to table greeting the guests. Megan was happy about the wedding, but she knew that she had a lot of work to do in her marriage, since Jack had not married for love but rather, had done for her baby. But she had faith that all that would change. The celebration had come to an end, and everything had gone wonderfully, all the guests wished him happiness and left happy.

Jack felt a little overwhelmed by all those congratulations and hugs, he just wanted to go up to his room to be alone with his wife since at the party he couldn’t have a single moment alone, except when they both danced. In the last few weeks his belly had grown more, and they made love very little. Although the doctor had told him that there was no problem, he was afraid of hurting them both, since when he had her naked he lost total control. Already in his room I can’t avoid asking.

− Are you tired?

− Yes a little, thank God I decided to wear sneakers.

− It was a good party!

− Yes, very beautiful.

− I like it, do you want to take a bath?

− Is that an invitation?

− Don’t you think we have abused it a lot? She told him very softly, so as not to hurt her.

− The doctor said there is a problem. But if you don’t want to, that’s fine. Disappointment was latent in her tone of voice.

− Megan, I want you.

− But you don’t want to be with me now.

− It’s because of him baby!

− He drinks fine Jack, but forget it, I’ll take that bath alone and go to bed.

She locked herself in the bathroom, suppressing the urge to cry, she had precisely chosen the wedding night to start thinking about the baby, when the previous weeks had not let her breathe. But she wouldn’t cry about that, they would have other moments. By the time he came out of the bathroom her room was alone, Megan thought he wouldn’t sleep with her that night, her marriage was not off to a good start. Perhaps Jack was feeling overwhelmed by so many emotions together since all of this was new to him, she didn’t want to think about it anymore and she decided to go to bed, falling asleep immediately.
