Twisting Her Fate
Chapter 109

Evie and Leilani walk down the hallway hand in hand at the rear of the group. Arlo and Madden are in the lead. Rosalie and the other four girls that were in the other rooms take up the middle section. Evie has been in the longest. None of them are going fantastically but they are still functional enough to make it out of their prison without any assistance. Evie requires the most, but it is still nothing too serious, just a slight dependence on Leilani, which is understandable. "Are you really going to take a chosen mate?"

Lani squeezes Evie on the shoulder.

"Are you sure you want to talk about that?"

How much does Leilani go into her love story to someone that has experienced this sort of thing? It seems a little like rubbing salt in the wound. It seems incredibly insensitive, Leilani only bought it up to Rosalie as it is her cousin.

"It would be nice to hear a story of love. It has been a long time since I have seen anything that resembles love in a long time, it is easy to forget that it exists"

"Okay, I will tell you a little love story. It is story of something so sweet but at the same time so f*cked up, it is something that I never would have thought that I would have been part of"

Leilani smiles and Evie just watches every expression and listens to every word intently. It is so nice to hear a soothing voice, she nearly forgot what it was like to listen to someone talk, to hear a story or to hear gossip, even the art of a simple conversation is nearly foreign to her.

"The first night I ever saw him I was out at a club. His back is what drew me in at the start. I've never really described a back as beautiful but this was an absolute work of art. When he turned around and I saw his face, it made me forget his back all together. He was chiseled perfection, handsome to the point of beautiful, but so masculine as well. Just pure perfection. When he opened his mouth it was even better. Not like some of the men that wreck their gorgeous faces when they open their mouth and pure vile things pour out of it. His heart is so big, even from that very first night he was so protective and so sweet. I didn't know it till later but I did fall in love with him that very first night...."

Leilani goes on to describe the series of events that led up to them being where they are now. Evie listens in silence, taking everything in holding Lani's hand, laughing at the couples antics and just being amazed that two that seem so compatible could not be fated for each other. A single story reignites her faith in love, but it won't be for her. It will never again be for her. She is way too much of a burden on anyone.

When the story winds up, they are emerging in the dwindling sunlight of the day. The trip down the hallway was slow and steady. No one was getting rushed. Some of them haven't done much more walking than pacing a small room in years, so the long walk is actually quite taxing.

"Evie, I have talked a lot about myself, but tell me anything you know about this place"

"I really don't know anything. I don't even know how I ended up here"

"Is that man the only one you saw?"

Evie shakes her head, her relaxed expression twisting to grief as she holds Leilani tighter.

"There are a few others but they all wear masks. That man, the one you captured, would come into my room and he would give me something. When I would wake up, I would be somewhere else. The room looked similar but it didn't feel the same. I couldn't hear the other girls, but I could hear more noises"

"You think he moved you locations?"

"I can only assume but it was just blank before and after"

"Did they know you?"

"I don't think so. One kept asking for my name but I didn't tell him"

Leilani strokes Evie's hair, not pushing her any further, she has already got enough information.

Arlo and Hudson pause, waiting for Leilani's directions. Leilani looks at the scene. Simon is still lying on the ground with Madden and Finlay watching for the slightest twitch. Levi is still on the phone and Terrance is busy with his back to the exit of the mine, a thin sliver of steam rising from something in front of him.

"Set the girls up in the car until their families get here. We don't have a lot but grab all my trip snacks from under the seats"

Hudson guides the girls to the car. Lani looks at Evie.

"Do you want to go with them?"

Evie looks at Lani hopefully.

"Can I stay with you?"

"You understand that I will be talking to Simon?"

"Yes"

"Are you going to be alright with that?"

"If you don't leave me"

"I won't leave you"

As soon as Hudson and Arlo return, Madden starts to slap Simon's face until he starts to stir. The slapping is so heavy that Simon's lip splits every time, his cheek swelling substantially even with his healing. Simon's hazel eyes finally open as he looks at the five large men standing over him as he lies on the ground, he curls his body. Lani moves Evie behind her and Evie grips onto her clothing once more.

Lani claps her hands as she walks forward with large confident steps and Evie scurries to keep pace with her.

"How the big man who thought he was so powerful reacts when the tables have turned. We haven't even taken your wolf. What are you cowering for?"

Evie can feel the aura around Lani grow, she can feel her power, it encircles her, it seeps into her bones, she can feed off it. One day she is going to be strong like Leilani. That is her goal. "Get him on his knees"

Finlay grabs Simon so ruthlessly that Simon's shoulders groan under the pressure and nearly pop out of their sockets. Madden grabs Simon's hair and maneuvers Simon's head to make him look at Leilani. "Who did you bring in to share these girls with?"

Simon regains his confidence as he looks at the girl in front of him. She seems to actually be running this whole set up, a stupid little girl is easily manipulated.

"What will it take for you to let me go?"

Leilani throws her head back and laughs.

"Even your own life isn't enough for me, I would resuscitate you just to bring you back. What would it take? It might take me a little while to work out. I want a day for every day you took from these girls. Every single day needs to be paid back, every day filled with unimaginable t*****e. I don't know if you even have enough years left in your life to pay back all these days"

"You cannot be serious?"

Leilani keeps Evie in place as she moves forward quickly, looming over Simon as she snarls.

"No matter how many days you receive, it will never give back what you took, you have your family, you have your love, these girls have missed out on that, you have taken too much" "They deserved it"

"Because they tried to replace company on a chatroom? No one ever deserves what you did" "They..."

Leilani punches Simon straight in the jaw, the sound of bone shattering fills the air.

"Don't you dare say they again, it is not on your victims, everything is your problem. I am not sure what type of short coming you are trying to make up for. Whether you have a god complex or whether you are just insane, all I know is they did nothing wrong, this is all you, you are the f*cked up one"

On the tailgate, Terrance finally bottles up the serum. He holds it up to the sun with a smile on his face, the liquid is a fiery red which is much like the effect that it is going to have on the man. He has already seen if the girls need anything, but they are all just waiting on their parents. Terrance can understand their aversion to taking substances. Terrance can actually smell the herbal scent leeching off their skin, knowing how much would have to have been consumed to get that smell. Terrance turns to the group who are standing around the man on his knees. He walks forward watching Leilani in her element. He actually wishes Connor was here for this.

Simon looks at the man who is approaching, a familiar style of vial in his hands. He looks from the vial to the man.

"Elixir?"

Terrance looks at the man in front of him with a frown on his face, his voice seems slightly familiar. Simon looks straight into the violet eyes of the man.

"Are you Elixir?"

Simon actually starts to laugh. The whole group snarls at Simon and Levi aims a kick straight into the mans abdomen. Simon grunts as the kick connects, but he still laughs, though now there is a lot more of a wheeze than a laugh.
