Twisting Her Fate
Chapter 151

Leilani looks at the scene in front of her, she looks at the handsome man that she loves more than life itself, that she has never stopped thinking about since she met him nearly four years ago. That night in the club changed her life and no matter what distance is brought between them, they still just keep intersecting. No matter how many twists are thrown at them, they keep coming back together.

She looks at her perfect man holding their two beautiful little kids with tears in his eyes and a look of true happiness on his face, knowing that he doesn't hate her. Knowing that he doesn't care about her wolf, that he doesn't care about her strength, that he just loves her through everything, he still just loves her. Lani screams as she drops to her knees, pain tearing through her body threatening to rip her apart from the inside out.

Connor looks on in shock, putting the kids' heads against his chest and covering their other ears as they tremble at the noise coming from their mother.

Lani's fingers dig deep into the dirt as she tries to ground herself.

Connor sniffs deeply the scent of apricot increasing and changing into a beautiful tropical scent. It is the most divine thing he has ever smelt in his entire life, it is so strong, it is so powerful, it is so very perfect.

His own wolf surges and his canines extend without his permission. He looks at Lani, he knows what he want to do, he knows what he needs to do in this moment.

"Do you want me? You want to be my mate? Do you want me for your whole life?"

Lani only just nods as she manages to grit out.

"I do"

She can't even process why he would be asking her this in that moment. She doesn't notice when he kisses the two kids on the forehead before pulling them back behind his body. Her eyes can no longer focus on anything as the pain blinds her.

By now the whole elite squad has started to pour out of the house. There is a panic running through them as they watch, but knowing this is all just the two in this moment, they can only watch helplessly.

Astrid is quick enough to act as she pulls the two toddlers back. Connor moves forward, embracing Leilani tightly. She still fits perfectly in his arms, the only one to ever possess that space.

"I love you"

Connor moves her tank top aside and his canines sink into her flawless flesh, this moment only three years later than he was anticipating and less a relaxing and romantic atmosphere, with all the others watching on and his precious mate in so much obvious pain, but somehow it is no less momentous.

Leilani screams again as her wolf pushes forward so hard and fast and an amazing scent hits her nose. Connor has always smelled good. He has always had such an individual and enticing scent, but now it is even bigger and better. She screams again as her wolf awakens and pushes through that final barrier, that mating mark allowing her freedom, allowing her to come forth from her induced slumber. Lani starts the long and painful shift as her wolf heals all her scars inside and out.

There is nothing pleasant about watching their friend in agony, but for the group that thought they would never see her wolf again, to see her sprouting white fur, to see that wolf come forward once more for Leilani to finally be whole again, it is torturous to watch, but it is so special and comes as a relief.

Connor massages Leilani's tearing muscles as the slow process happens, just whispering comforting words and holding her tight against him, he strokes Leilani's soft white fur as it appears, never backing off for a single second through the whole process. As it is always with Connor, he is her strength and he is her comfort when she needs it the most.

Lani is producing an almost constant whimper as she tries to breathe through the pain using Connor to her full advantage, nuzzling into him, smelling that amazing scent.

Tears are flowing freely. She knows exactly what that scent is. She knows that fate had a way of coming around, that it was never that she was not good enough for Connor. It was just that they had so much to do before then. It was just that this was the final stop when fate finally corrected itself to her, it doesn't matter that she had a mate before this. It doesn't matter that Connor had two. Connor was always her one and only even when he was tied to someone else. Even when she was tied to someone else, when he was only going to be her chosen mate. She had no doubt in her mind that he was right one for her. She just second guessed herself too much. She didn't have enough trust in Connor and his love for her, feeling that she wasn't good enough. A level of insecurity within the relationship that she never should have had.

"It's okay baby. I'm finally here. We are finally together and we will never separate again"

Finally, the white wolf lays on the dirt cradled on Connor's lap. She is exhausted and she is panting. Ace and Elena rush out of Astrid's grip to their mothers side.

They fall to their knees on the ground cuddling the white wolf. It is exciting for them. They have met all the others wolves but they have never seen their mothers. Meeting their father for the first time and seeing their mother's wolf all while in their pyjamas. Connor looks at the scene, at his beautiful mate and his two gorgeous children that he doesn't even know the names of yet, and all that goes through his mind is that man that he chased out the office not all that long ago when he said that Connor needed a luna and an heir. Right now, right in front of him is his luna and two heirs to the stormy pack. They were waiting out here all along. They were just waiting for him to claim them.

"My mate, my beautiful Leilani, look what you have given me. Look what you have blessed me with. I don't know what I ever did right in my life to have you, but I'm so thankful"

Four little hands and two big hands stroke the soft fur and Leilani is tired but so very happy. She leans into the hands and she looks at the people surrounding her, knowing that all the most important people in her life are here.

Kelsey, Aubrey and Sierra all know Alpha Storm. It is impossible to be in the werewolf world and not know Alpha Storm. It all starts to fall into place.

"Mummy, you are so beautiful and you are so soft"

Connor smiles so gently at the two.

"She is isn't she?"

Connor realizes that he is a loss. He doesn't even know their names. With perfect timing. Terrence walks up beside him, placing a hand on Connor's shoulder, the sense of relief that washes over him from the secret finally being out, from the alpha command finally being nullified, even if Leilani had wanted to break it, without her wolf she couldn't.

Terrance lays a large shirt down and on the ground beside Leilani, ready for that moment that she will shift back.

"Yes Ace and Elena, your mummy is so soft"

Connor smiles thankfully at his friend. He wants to make a good impression on his children and not knowing their names at all would certainly dampen that. Not that it is his fault, but he just wants to smoothly move into the three of their lives. "Kids come back here to Grandma. Let Mummy have a moment"

Ace and Elena reluctantly walk to Astrid's side and it is the first time that Connor has actually paid attention to the woman. He looks at her questioningly, realizing that Oscar is also present. It is only now that they are in the same place that he realizes the similarities between them all.

He doesn't want to jump to any conclusions, but now it slightly makes sense why Oscar randomly approached him back then.

Oscar had never said anything about the association. Connor doesn't say anything because he's sure that soon it will all become clear and it doesn't really matter to him. Anyway, all he really cares about now is Leilani's health and well-being and getting to know the two little kids. He wants to insert himself into their lives and take them back to the stormy pack as soon as possible. The life he thought was over is only just beginning.

Lani starts a slow shift back. It is painful, but Lani welcomes the pain because she has her wolf back. She has Connor back. There is so much that needs to be said between them, but the way Connor is holding her, she knows that no matter what needs to be said, they are going to be okay now. He has seen the children and, instead of holding it against her for not telling him, he is saying sweet words to her and accepting the two without a single thought.

Lani's cheek presses up against Connor's bare chest letting all the tears flow from all these three years that she has tried to be so strong. Just hurting in private and trying not to let it show. All her own saying of making the best of the situation life throws at her hasn't really worked out in this situation. She tried hard but she could never do it. All of it comes out as Connor just holds her tightly. Never to let her go again.
