Chapter 310
Chapter 310
Right after Malcolm said that, he started regretting it. However, since he had said it, he couldn't go back on his word.
So, he secretly took Zachary to a secluded area and entered Xavier's place through the side door.
When they reached there, Malcolm's heart was pounding, and he looked pleased. "See? This is my uncle's house."
Zachary took a look at their surroundings and noticed a luxuriously decorated room on the east side. The pillars were made of wood.
Suddenly, he put his hand on his stomach. "Ah! My tummy is hurting. I can't hold it anymore. I need a toilet!"
After saying that, he immediately ran to the east before Malcolm could say anything.
Malcolm instantly became anxious. "You can't go there! That's where my uncle lives!"
Right after he said that, a housekeeper approached him. When she saw it was Malcolm, she couldn't help scolding him. "Where are you here, Mr. Malcolm? Mr. Lane dislikes children, so you have to leave now. Otherwise, I'll have to call him."
Malcolm couldn't see Zachary anymore, Since he was worried that the housekeeper would really call Xavier, he hurriedly scurried away.
As he left, he stuck out his tongue at the housekeeper. "Just you wait! How dare you lecture me? When I grow up, I'll fire you!"
The housekeeper smiled in disdain. Malcolm was only five years old. By the time he grew up, she would've already left.
She returned to the room to clean it. She didn't realize that Zachary had snuck into Xavier's bedroom.
The bedroom had a monochromatic interior, and it looked as cold as the person staying there.
After Zachary entered the room, he started searching everywhere. He wanted to see if he could replace something to use against Xavier or Jeremiah.
In the end, he found nothing. Just as he was about to leave, he heard some footsteps downstairs. So, he quickly hid behind a cabinet.
The footsteps got closer, and Zachary saw a man putting on his slippers. He couldn't help but hold his breath.
When Jeremiah came back, he took a glance at the room. He noticed that the books on the table had shifted a little, and it seemed that he had realized something. Then, he looked toward the side of the cabinet and saw a little hand sticking out.
When he saw that, he took a step back and didn't enter the room. After closing the door, he said to the housekeeper, "I'm heading out for half an hour."
"Yes, sir."
When the footsteps got further away, Zachary let out a breath of relief. He walked away from the cabinet

and accidentally knocked into the book on it. When the book fell to the floor, he saw a photo inside it. Zachary picked up the photo to take a look at it. It seemed like a photo of Yvette and Xavier when they had been younger.
He immediately snapped a photo of it with his smartwatch before placing it back into the book. Before he left the room, he secretly installed a microcamera on a vase on the balcony. Then, he made his way out of there.
Zachary only contacted Malcolm after he left Xavier's place. He gave Malcolm some perfunctory answers in response to the latter's questions.
When they headed out, they didn't realize that Jeremiah was silently sitting in a car near them. As he watched them from behind, he made a call and said, "I need you to keep an eye on a child."
At first, he had thought that it was a coincidence. But when he realized that Zachary had snuck into Xavier's room, he had figured out that things weren't as simple as they seemed.
An hour later, Zachary returned to Kiki's rented apartment. When Jeremiah found out that Kiki was Zachary's mom, he walked to the vase and removed the microcamera on it.
Meanwhile, Zachary was watching the footage from the camera, and he almost cursed out loud. "That imposter sure is impressive. I can't believe he discovered it so soon." He shut his laptop and looked at the photo he had taken. He was in a daze when Kiki suddenly opened the door. "Are you asleep already, Zac?"
Zachary was shocked, and he quickly turned off his watch.
