Yvette didn't want to deal with Xavier. She angrily covered herself under the blanket, leaving him to lie at the side. "If you want to sleep here, do it like that."

Shortly after the lights were out, she fell asleep. When he heard her breathing steadily, he pulled her into his arms.

When Yvette woke up the next day, she bumped her head on his strong chest. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up.

The moment her eyes landed on Xavier's dashing face, she anxiously got up from his embrace. When she was sure that he wasn't awake, she immediately put on her robe and got out of bed.

Right when Yvette opened the bedroom door, she noticed that Viola was awake as well. The latter looked at her kindly. "Come here, Yvvy. I want to talk to you."

Yvette felt embarrassed because she knew that Viola definitely had misunderstood the situation. After she followed Viola back to the latter's room, she hurriedly explained, "He was the one who wouldn't leave last night. We did nothing at all."

"Yvvy, you don't have to explain it to me. I just wanted to tell you that I'd support your decision, no matter what."

Yvette nodded. Viola couldn't help adding, "Actually, I've noticed how Xavier really has changed. So, it won't be that bad for you to stay with him.

"It's always nice to be with the people who've been with us since the beginning. Besides, you both have children together too."

Yvette silently listened to Viola. She didn't know how to reply to that. Instead, she said, "I'll think about it, so don't worry. Dr. Upton will be here later. You should get more rest in the meantime.

"Sure."

When they were done chatting, Yvette went out to call Gideon. By the time she was done with that, Xavier woke up and went downstairs. "Yvvy."

She didn't want to talk to him, so she purposely kept quiet and didn't respond to him at all.

Xavier frowned slightly, appearing cold. He thought Yvette had gone out, so he returned to his room. Then, Yvette finally got up to freshen up.

After a while, she heard the doorbell. Thinking that Gideon had arrived Yvette hurriedly opened the door. Then she saw Kiki looking around with a backpack.

"Kiki? Why are you here?" Yvette was confused. "Where's Zac?"

"My dad kicked me out last night. Zac should be looking after the Torres' family business with him now."

It turned out that Michael didn't just like Zachary enough to call him by his nickname intimately; he'd even planned on writing his will and having Zachary inherit all of his assets.

After saying that, Kiki softly asked, "Where's Xavier?"

She hadn't come all the way here to

ask for a place to stay. Instead, she'd only wanted to take a look at Xavier. She was curious how the

former CEO looked now that he was blind.

Yvette turned around and pointed at Xavier's room. "He's in his bedroom."

"I'm going to take a look." Kiki dropped her bag and walked to Xavier's room like she was looking at a rare animal.

Before she reached the room, the door was opened from the inside, and a tall man walked out. "Do we have a guest, Yvvy?"

Kiki stood near him at that moment, and she noticed that his eyes didn't look that abnormal.

However, she couldn't help gasping when she saw that he really couldn't see. Seeing how he'd become blind and received his karma, she felt great.

Before Yvette could say anything, Kiki said, "Hello, I'm Yvvy's best friend, Kiki Torres. You once sent me to the police station before. Do you remember it?" When he heard her, he returned to his usual cold self. "No."

Kiki was stunned, wondering why Xavier was still so ill-tempered. After all, Viola had told her that he'd changed.
