Now that she and Yvette had started talking about it, Kiki couldn't hold back.

"Yvvy, in hindsight, we kept thinking he was a bastard for not loving you because you mistook him for Jeremiah. But you were just a stranger to him. There was no way he could give you love when he felt nothing for you. "The only flaw he had was blaming you for what your mother and brother did. At the end of the day, he's just a petty guy who's too prideful; he's not that much of a bastard."

As Kiki realized that, she could finally relax a little.

Yvette seriously listened to what Kiki said. "Yeah, I know."

However, Kiki immediately said, "However, not only has he lost his memories, but he's also blind now. Yvvy, you'll have a hard life ahead if you stay with him."

It would be hard for a blind man to make any money. Since he was part of the upper class, it would be more difficult for him.

Kiki couldn't help worrying again when she thought about that. "Yvvy, you shouldn't let his good looks distract you. I think Claude's way better than him."

Yvette wasn't that surprised by Kiki's change of heart. She knew the latter was just worried about her. "Why are you bringing Claude up again? He told me he only saw me as a friend last time, and he's out of my league too."

Kiki wanted to say something else, but the maid approached her and told her it was time to eat. So, she had no choice but to end the call hurriedly.

She decided she had to meet Xavier in private. She wanted to let him know when to quit so that he wouldn't be a burden to Yvette and the children.

On the other side, Yvette was about to have her dinner as well. When she turned around, she saw Xavier standing near her. She wondered if he had heard what she had said.

When he heard her footsteps, he said, "It's time for dinner."

"Sure."

"I wasn't eavesdropping on purpose," he added.

Yvette couldn't help smiling. "Yeah, I know."

Xavier might have said that, but he couldn't stop thinking about what she had said earlier. She said that Claude only treated her as a friend and that he was out of her league. Xavier wondered if she still liked Claude in the end. Was he just a backup plan? Xavier could only keep his thoughts to himself; he didn't dare to ask her about it at all. Meanwhile, Kiki still had a lot on her mind as she finished eating. She knocked on the door to Archibald's study, and the latter called out, "Come in."

Kiki entered the room and greeted him. "Grandpa."

"Oh, it's Kiki! What's wrong? Are you not used to staying here?"

He looked at her with a kind gaze. She couldn't help feeling bad when he was being so nice to her. "Grandpa, I want to be honest with you again. Zac isn't really Tristan's son, so he's not your grandson."

This was Archibald's second time hearing her say that. His expression shifted a little, and he asked, "Then, is he your son?"

She figured she wouldn't disappoint

him if she said Zachary was her son. After all, it had nothing to do with the Shaw family. "Yeah, he is. As for his father, I can't tell you who he is. Regardless, it's not Tristan

She didn't want to lie to him. Seeing that, Archibald had known that he had been right about Kiki. She was kind and virtuous.

The Shaw family had a lot of assets. If she had said that Zachary was the Shaw family's descendant, she would have infinite assets as his mother. However, she hadn't done that.

"Oh, you silly girl. If Zac's your son and you're my granddaughter-in-law, that makes him my great-grandson. It doesn't matter if he's Tristan's son or not."

"What?" Kiki was stunned.

Tristan was the only heir to the Shaw family, and he was Archibald's only grandson. That made him more precious than Xavier. After all, the Lane family had a lot of

descendants. She couldn't bel fet

that Archibald didn't care about Zachary not being Tristan's actual son.
