Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death -
Chapter 491
Xavier heard footsteps and looked toward the door. Yvette didn't call out to him but walked right up to him instead. "Did you injure Claude?"
Xavier's breath caught in his throat.
"Don't lie," Yvette pressed.
Xavier felt a pang of guilt and responded in a muffled voice, "Yes."
"Are you serious? You hit him?" Yvette couldn't believe it.
Despite being visually impaired, he had managed to beat Claude-and severely at that. Yvette was furious beyond words, and she lashed out at Xavier, striking him hard on the shoulder. Xavier's brows knit together in shock. He hadn't expected Yvette to hit him over Claude. Though the punch wasn't hard, it bothered him.
What was so special about that man? So what if he beat him up? Claude should count himself lucky Xavier hadn't buried him outright.
Despite what he was thinking, Xavier didn't dare say it out loud. "Yvvy, guys butt heads all the time, especially since we're rivals in love. A bit of a scrap is nothing to worry about."
"A scrap, you say? Ray said Claude is still not completely out of danger!" Yvette was enraged, and she threw another hard punch at him.
Xavier didn't dodge. For some reason, seeing Yvette defend another man made him want to fly over to Claude and finish him off.
"It won't happen again," he said aloud despite his thoughts.
Yvette was still fuming. But no matter how much she beat him, it didn't seem to have much effect.
She thought of how Claude had ended up in the hospital because of Xavier. She couldn't just let him off easily. So she grabbed his arm and pinched him hard.
Xavier's expression finally changed. "Yvvy, that hurts." The way she pinched him did hurt a bit.
"I give you a tiny pinch, and you're all up in arms. What about Claude, huh?" she snapped.
"He's done so much for me. If it hadn't been for him, I would've died abroad long ago. But what about you? What have you done?"
Yvette still wasn't satisfied and pinched him harder.
For once, Xavier offered no resistance. The injustice he felt was unprecedented. "But what if I was jealous?"
Yvette was taken aback.
"There's nothing between me and Claude," she said.
"Nothing?" Xavier chuckled softly. "Then the baby..."
Yvette was about to tell him that the baby wasn't Claude's, but just then, her phone rang. It was Noah. She suddenly remembered that Noah was still home alone. She didn't have time to keep scolding Xavier and answered the phone. "Noah."
"Mom, where are you? Didn't you say you'd be back after two hours? Why aren't you home yet? Did you guys leave me behind to go eat something delicious by yourselves?"

Noah pretended to be upset, but in truth, he was worried. He thought his bastard father had tattled on him to Yvette about wanting to mess with Shannon. He thought Yvette didn't want him anymore and had abandoned him because.
"Sorry, sweetheart. I'm coming back right now. I've bought you lots of treats." Yvette reassured him.
"Okay, come back soon." Noah quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
After hanging up, Yvette didn't feel like explaining anything to Xavier anymore. The affection she had worked so hard to foster for him was now nonexistent. "Let's go home," she said.
Without another word, Xavier got up from the hospital bed. "Alright."
The drive back was unusually quiet
Ray could feel a cold gaze on him from behind. Yvette said nothing, and the two men were particularly uneasy, especially Xavier.
Xavier could tell that Yvette's anger hadn't subsided despite hitting and pinching him earlier.
