Xavier stood tall under a tree by the entrance. Although he couldn't see anything, his bodyguard had already told him that Yvette and Aaron had arrived. Yvette glanced at him and stopped in her tracks. Then, she stood in front of Aaron, hoping to prevent any trouble. "I'm here. You should head back now." Aaron nodded when he heard that. "Sure. See you next time."

His car silently approached them. She watched him get in the car before entering the hospital.

When she finally stood in front of Xavier, she asked, "Can I see Noah now?"

There was no obvious emotion on his cold side profile. "He's been asleep for a while now," he coldly replied.

Yvette looked at her phone and realized it was already 10:00 pm. She had been too focused when talking about the music with Aaron, and she had forgotten about the time. "Alright. I'll see him tomorrow."

When Xavier heard that, he grabbed her arm. "Do you really care about him, or is this all an act?"

Yvette clenched her fists. "What do you mean by that?"

"You know what I mean." Then, he walked past her.

She stood in place and was confused. She had no idea what was wrong with him this time. Not only did he stop her from seeing Noah, but he was also asking if she truly cared about her own son. Why wouldn't she care about Noah when she'd done her best to raise him?

Yvette didn't want to argue with him, so she returned to the hospital to get some rest. She planned on seeing Noah the next early morning.

...

Malcolm was staying in the ward next to Noah, and he finally recovered after receiving treatment for a day.

"Mom! Dad! It was all that feral boy's fault!" He immediately started complaining to his parents when he could speak.

Marlene grabbed his hand and asked, "Tell me what happened, Malcolm."

Up to that point, she had only heard Yvette and Noah's side of the story and not Malcolm's version yet. So, the matter wasn't over!

"It was that feral boy's fault. He tricked me into going into the garden maze, and I got lost because of that." As Malcolm spoke, he started tearing up. When Marlene heard that, her gaze turned cold. "That bastard!"

She insulted Noah silently and

looked up at Zayden. "Did you hear

that? He was clearly set up! Why

the

would that boy trick our son into, maze? vette must've told him to do it. If something happened to Malcolm, Noah would have control over the Lane family in the future!"

Zayden thought she made sense. "This isn't over yet. Let's tell Grandpa about this right after Malcolm gets out tomorrow."

"Alright." She nodded. "I want to call my parents over as well."

She knew how useless Zayden's mother, Clara Menson, was, and Dominic wasn't even back yet.

After Marlene thought about it, she said to Malcolm, "We're going to see Great-Grandpa tomorrow, Malcolm. Remember to say that you wanted to play with that feral boy and not beat him up, alright?"

Malcolm understood it as well.

"I know. Don't worry, Mom."

The next day, Malcolm left the hospital with Marlene and Zayden in the early morning.

When Yvette went to Noah's ward after she woke up, she was unexpectedly stopped again. "Mrs. Lane, Mr Lane has said it's

inconvenient for you to visit Menet

Noah now. He needs to have

breakfast and go for his treatments in the morning."

"Why can't I visit him? I'm his mother, and I'm not going to disturb him."

The bodyguard obeyed Xavier's orders and didn't make an exception. Just as Yvette wanted to barge in, Xavier appeared at the door.
