Chapter 119

"Let's stop here," said Lorraine.

She changed the subject as there was no point in wallowing over the problem. The person targeting her very much wanted to see her sad and desperate, and she would not let them get their way.

Logan replied, "The sun will always rise, after all. Don't worry about it. I'll always be by your side."

Lorraine did not have to worry too much about not being able to sell her fruits with Logan around. "Thank you, Logan."

Logan might not be able to help her, but his comforting words were definitely reassuring to Lorraine and warmed up her heart.

With Logan, Finnegan, and Luna by her side, Lorraine's mood was quickly lifted. In the afternoon, the couple took the children for a drive up the mountains.

The weekend soon came to an end.

Monday marked the beginning of a new week. The adults headed to work, and the children headed to school. Life gradually returned to normal.

Both Lorraine and Logan sent the two young children to kindergarten together.

Lorraine did not want to sit around and wait for the fruits to rot on the trees. She wanted to try looking for merchants to sell her fruits to.

After dropping Finnegan and Luna off at the kindergarten, Lorraine turned to Logan and asked, "Are you still working at the construction site near Glendale Grand Hotel?"

"Yeah."

"I'll drop you off at the hotel's entrance, then you can walk to the construction site from there. I'll wait for you at the same place at noon, and we can go back to your place to cook lunch. And in the evening, we'll pick up the kids and go home."

"Sure thing."

Logan had no objections.

Lorraine turned the car around and drove toward Glendale Grand Hotel. It was just a ten-minute drive as the hotel was not too far from the kindergarten.

She parked the car after arriving at the hotel. After Logan got out of the car, Lorraine waved at him and said, "The weather is quite nice today, but remember to drink more water anyway, okay? It's going to get hot later in the day, so drink it with a little sale to prevent catching a heatstroke!"

Although working on the construction site yielded a higher income, the current season was extremely hot. It was commonplace for construction workers to suffer from heatstroke on-site.

Logan replied, "I will. Drive safe, okay? There's no need to rush."

Nodding, Lorraine waved goodbye to Logan before driving away.

Logan watched until her car merged into the traffic and gradually disappeared from his site before taking out his phone to call Stephen.

When Stephen picked up the call, Logan lowered his voice and said, "I'm at the entrance of Glendale Grand Hotel right now. Come and pick me up."

"Yes, sir."

Logan then hung up and headed toward the hotel.

A few minutes later, he was sitting in the hotel lobby's lounge area.

At the same time, Karen had just come out of the hotel's restaurant and was planning to go shopping. She took a casual glance across the lounge area and saw the man she had not been able to get off her mind.

She could not believe that she was so lucky that she would run into Logan first thing in the morning.

Karen took a closer look and confirmed that it was indeed Logan.

She quickly tidied up her appearance and approached him with a smile. "Hello, Mr. Moore."
