Chapter 69
The Wares only gave the Sommers ten baskets of plastic Easter eggs. In contrast, trene gave them a mountain of gifts.
The Sommers weren't concerned about the value of the gifts, but the difference underscored the wares stinginess Easter was supposed to be about eggs, so ten baskets from the Wares secred reasonable
In contrast, the Moores overwhelmed them with truckloads of presents. They brought a large basket filled with roasted chicken, honey-baked ham, and a variety of fresh seafood. The assortment of fruits, health supplements, and Easter eggs they sent was astonishing.
Irene was floored by the generosity. She kept calling Lorraine, urging her to return from the orchards right away
"Listen, Vanessa. Use the Easter holiday to bring Joshua home for a while. Don't give in. You've set a precedent, and they'll keep pushing you like hungry wolves. They'll take things from you little by little until there's nothing left," Lorraine urged.
The Moone family's generosity hinted that Logan wasn't just a penniless bumpkin. He had adopted two children and somehow managed to still have money saved up. It also seemed that his family was pretty open-minded
"Okay, I'll listen to you. But don't say anything to Mom yell want to see if jaden will apologize, Vanessa said. Despite Jaden's behavior, she still wanted her family to believe he was a decent gr Lorraine agreed, though she doubted Jaden would apologize. She figured he would likely team up with his family to pressure Vanessa.
He had already asked multiple times to have his name added to the property deed. This showed he could be pretty patient and manipulative. it was a pity that the Sommers still treated him like one of their
own.
"Mommy" "Mommy"
Just then, Logan returned with the kids,
Seeing Lorraine waiting in the pickup truck, the children ran over. They called our sweetly before they even reached her. Lorraine quickly ended her call with Vanessa and stepped out to greet them "Mommy" the childrm called out in unison
Lorraine smiled and bent down to scoop up Luna, She showered Luna with kisses. "I missed you so much, Laili"
"I missed you too, Mommy."
Lorraine hugged Finnegan as well. She made sure to give equal affection to both children even though she had a particular soft spot for her sweet-talking daughter.
Logan walked over and smiled. "Luna looked really upset when she didn't see you. I had to tell her you were in the truck to make her smile again."
It pained him that he had raised these children since birth but they were already so attached to Lorraine after just a few days with her.
Lorraine explained, "I was on the phone with Aunt Vanessa, so asked your dad to pick you up from the gate today. I promise I'll pick you up every day if I can " Finnegan and Luna were overjoyed. They smothered her with kisses, filling Lorraine with happiness.
