This time, Eugene didn't look at Lara, but kept his eyes on Edward instead. "Is there anything else youwould like to say?"

With a stunned expression, it finally dawned on Edward that Isaac was the one telling the truth and hegaped at Lara blankly, hoping that she would convince him again. "Is what Isaac is saying true? Are

you really the one who hired someone to kill Ellen?"

Despite that, she continued to argue. "It's obvious that the recording is fake. Am I so dumb as to let himhave a recording when I'm hiring someone to do something like this?"

Giving Eugene an eye-roll, Edward seemed to be asking whether this explanation would pass.
