"Promise Island," Eugene replied with a smile.

"Are you guys spending the new year on the island?" Alex asked.

Alex wore a worried expression on his face. "I can't leave, and I have no reason to travel during thenew year. Why did you guys bring Jean over to the island?"

Upon hearing Eugene's words, Alex realized how he had spoken a little too quickly. "I got it. I know thatshe's your Jewel. She's my Jewel too. How many days will you guys be on the island? I'll be there bythe day after tomorrow."
