"Everything's fine." He brushed her off and gave a brief reply before getting into his car.

Meanwhile, Gwen stared at Nathan's car as he drove off as she revealed a meaningful smile.

"I'll be back shortly." He was rather frantic as he sprinted into the mall as soon as he finished his words.

The girl in the car was not too bothered about what he was doing. After all, she was in a messy stateherself.

He was huffing and puffing as he raced over to get her the shoes before he had to rush back again andthis was all witnessed by her. She had also noticed him considerate enough to not only buy her somenew shoes, but a pair of socks and some wet wipes too. She was also aware that he had lifted her dirtyfeet onto his lap without any hint of displeasure or disgust. However, she did not dare to promise him asingle thing because she was clearly aware that she had nothing to offer him.

"What's wrong? Are the shoes too big?" asked Jasper.
