Zach & Amy's First Meeting
“Wake up.” Someone poked me in the shoulder but I was having such a nice dream. Zach and I were on a date, holding hands looking at each other about to have a kiss-
“Ms. Gill! You will wake up right now or I’ll send you to the principal’s!” I jolted from the nice dream to only see that my history teacher was fuming with anger and glaring at me. Looking beside me I saw Samara shrugging. Gee...I slept in the class again.
“Do you want a detention, Ms. Gill?” She asked me and I gulped. She was one crazy scary old woman who I wanted nothing to do with. But as I’m sleeping again in her class I guess I deserved the shouting.
“I’m sorry, miss. I won’t sleep in your class again.” I told her and after what like years she nodded. Ugh! Thank heaven.
Thankfully before I could get more humiliated the bell rang and students started to rush out of the room. We both ran out of the room panting but when we looked at each other we grinned laughing. We were truly weird friends. I met her when I moved to New York and we immediately bonded. She knew I had a crush on Zach since 7th grade when he transferred to our school and yet I’m hopeless enough that I still couldn’t tell him about my feelings.
Actually, I think he doesn’t even know that I exist.
“So daydreaming about our dear Zach again?" She asked with a smirk and I joined her. There was no denying that the only person I can be a dream of and not be able to wake up was Zach.
“You know me too well, hun,” I replied and she smiled. She was a girl with pure golden hair not blond as you’re all thinking with a small figure. She accompanied me to school and we had sleepover once where she heard me mumbling Zach’s name and she tried to make me meet him but guess I was too coward to approach him. And don’t deny that he is the school’s football captain, hot, mysterious and many girls are already waiting for him to date. And why the hell he’ll choose someone as plain Jane as me?
“I think if I were you, I would’ve left the school already.” I heard the voice and looked back to see that the school was almost empty. Geez. I zoned out again.
“Let’s go. We’ll be late!” I shouted and dragged Samara with me to the backside of the school where we usually have football matches. Today we’re playing against Vanhon High and it’s always good to see Zach play his heart out. Even he’s hot he doesn’t date. I knew for a fact he wasn’t a player (or maybe I was a bit of a stalker) so he really gives his free times to practice.
“Let’s just sit here.” Samara waved at me and I stood on the ground to think that if I should sit too close to the game. Cause for a fact I know that I will watch Zach more than the game and if by any chance he found my eyes on him he’ll think that I’m creepy. But as there was no seat available, so I joined my friend to watch the game by sitting right in front of Zach's eye line and hoping one day he’ll notice me.
The game was almost finished. We’re already winning. We just have to make sure that the other team doesn’t goal. I was, as usual, putting popcorn in my mouth and my eyes glued to Zach. He was running with the football now and suddenly the temperature dropped. I could feel chilly airs even if no one was noticing that the place is going to freeze, not literally but you got the idea.
I think I’m the only weird one here. Everyone was watching the game with so much intensity that when my eyes found Zach again I gulped. He was still running but behind him was someone. And that someone looked exactly like me.
I slowly stood up from the seat and watched as the thing followed Zach’s every move behind him. I wanted to scream at Zach so he could run away but my mouth was glued shut. I didn’t know when the shouting started but I was so scared of what I saw that I missed my best friend’s voice as she yelled out, "Watch out!”
By then I was already falling from the high bleacher and soon darkness welcomed me.
I opened my eyes but all I noticed was blurred vision. My head was hammering like someone had run a truck over my head. I took a minute to breathe and opened them again. But what I met with was almost shocked enough to only stare. I was staring at the bluest eyes I ever met. Wait what!? Samara didn’t have blue eyes; she didn’t have short blond hair and she definitely was not wearing a football jersey. Where the hell this earth has come into as I’m lying in nurse’s office and I have a stranger beside me. And what happened as I’m laying here?
“Are you alright?" I heard the voice and immediately melted. I’ve heard this voice too many times that even in my dreams I heard them perfectly. There’s no doubt that this voice belongs to one and only Zach Henderson. But what the hell he’s doing in here? He slowly took the helmet from his face looking at me as if he was afraid of something.
“Do I need to call the nurse?" He asked, the concern clear in his ocean blue eyes. Hey! That was good news. Whatever reason I’m here now I wanted to thank heaven that he’s the one who’s sitting beside me; not that I minded Samara.
“What happened?” I asked the first question that came to my mind. I remember watching the game and then everything was blacked out.
“You don’t remember!?" He asked shocked. Geez, what I’ve done now? Did I throw myself at him? That would be embarrassing!
“No?" I replied slowly. I didn’t want to seem too curious cause if I did actually throw myself at him at least hearing it I could always run for the door.
“You fell from the bleacher. I’m so sorry, it was my fault. I threw the ball at my mate but as you were standing instead of sitting down, it hit you and you fell off. I tried to warn you but you were too frozen to do anything.” He blubbered and it made sense now. I fell off from a bleacher in front of Zach. Ugh! Why the hell it always happens to me!?
“You look cute though when you blush but I can’t remember I said anything that could make you blush.” He sheepishly told me and if possible I was redder than before. Why can’t I control my hormones? Here I was talking with Zach finally, not in a freaking dream and I had to blush like that.
“But I don’t mind as long as you keep your eyes more into the game than me.” I could bang my head on the wall right now. He saw me! He chuckled at my reaction and my heart did a flip to hearing the heartwarming sound from him.
“Seriously?" I tried to ignore his sarcastic comments about how much red I’m now. But he just kept smiling.
“What is going on your head right now?” I asked him as he gave me a grin that says only trouble.
“Actually as I was the reason for your so graceful fall, what if I take you out on a date?" He grinned as he offered me his hands to take when I tried to stand. I was internally screaming on the inside. A date with Zach!
“But you don’t even know me.” I pouted to which he only smirked.
“I know you very well, Amelia Gill or should I say Amy?” He told me while keeping me balanced cause I knew I was going to faint.
“But if I say no?” I liked this game. He was the most amazing person I've ever known. But I didn’t want a pity date from him.
“You know very well you can’t resist me, sweetcheeks. So you’re going to this date; you like it or not.” He grinned again while pecking me to cheeks and I knew I couldn’t resist him; I like it or not.
