Amy’s POV

Sister.

I had a twin sister.

I had been seeing her in my dreams and brushed them up as a nightmare. When I should have tried to replace the clues. I should have asked mom more about the girl I kept seeing in a mirror who shared the same face with me and yet was so different than me.

I was expecting to replace an address or something that could have helped me replace my birth mother. But instead, I found a name with my birth certificate way at least thousand years back in the adoption center. At first, it shocked me that how could I born so many years ago and yet here I am barely a senior in high school. But then again I learned the hard way that not everything is the way it looks. So, to replace my mother there was only one way.

Find my sister...

Getting on a flight from New York to Tennessee was hard but I managed to do that quite frankly. I didn’t have any other option. Everything else was sealed out in the hospital. How could this be possible? Was she never expected her daughter to replace her? Was my mother that afraid that her daughter will bring hell on this earth? Well...If she was a Reaper than she should’ve stayed...She should’ve trained me. But no! I had to learn my way from Zach. Guess mommy didn’t have enough love for me.

“What on the earth are you doing in here!?”

Suddenly someone yelled out making me drag back to the present. I glanced in front of me to see a girl watching me with surprise and shock in her eyes. The girl looked almost same as my age. After blinking a few times she looked around us in a frenzy as if she was checking if someone has seen us together. What was her problem?

“I’m sorry. Are you talking to me?” I asked with a confusion looking around me too. But no, there wasn’t a soul around me.

“Hush! Who else has a bounty on their head!? You. Of course!” She said in a duh tone.

How did she know I had the police after me!

“Were you following me? How did you just know I had a bounty on my head? Tell Me! And don’t you dare lie!” I hissed taking her hands in mine. I gripped her hand enough to draw blood and she whimpered.

There were the familiar feelings again. The rage to take someone’s soul. It was so strong that I could taste the power flowing inside of me. If she didn’t respond in a minute then I was going to have a nice reaping, and this time I won’t be able to stop.

“You’re...hurting me. Please let me go.” Good, she was begging. That made me more excited. But I won’t take her soul, not just yet.

“I thought I asked you something. How. Do. You. Know. Me?" I hissed pressing harder into her wound. Her face morphed into one of pure pain but it looked like she wasn't just physically hurt but mentally too.

But then why should I care?

“I’m your best friend, Gemma. I don’t want to hurt you like others. Don’t you remember me, Keira? Please stop! What happened to you!”

I could’ve stopped her talking right and then but the name... That name was the one registered with me in the hospital. She was talking about my twin. As if her hands burned me I let go of her. I put the fakest smile anyone can ever get and stated,

“I think it’s time we catch up on old times, don’t you think?"

Harrison’s POV

I told him everything...Things I didn’t even tell Aaron or mom or even Iva. I was expecting him to get angry at me and my foolishness. I was thinking he would say that I shouldn’t carry secrets like this. But he just surprised me...

“You did what you had to. I don’t blame you for that.” He said after what like a lifetime when it was just five minutes.

“But I’ve helped...” I started but he cut me off.

“You’ve helped your sister. You put Iva over your own life. That’s not a thing to regret about. And the Fire that burned the whole town... You just don’t know the whole truth.” He said grimly.

“What are you talking about? Amy did that. Every report said that. Many witnesses confirmed that it was Amy that night. There was even her mother admitting that she had some mental problems! That’s why she was sent to that asylum from jail. And the hospital accident could be totally her fault.”

Dalton gave me a look which clearly meant for me to shut up. So, I closed my mouth and waited for him to explain things.

“But if I say... I know who did it all?” He said with a smirk which I didn’t like too much.

“You know who is behind all of these?”

I was almost satisfied that I’ve agreed to meet him. He knew something that the whole world didn’t know. If I wasn’t so eager to come back home I would never know the power of our bond that binds me to this thing by blood. Mom always wanted me to practice. If I just listened to her...

“The fire was caused by someone from the Deshayes bloodline you’ve got that right, young man. but it wasn’t Amy, I can assure you that much. It was her sister...or more like her mother.” He was bubbling, right?

“What are you talking about? Sister... Mother?” I asked confused.

“You see...I’m going to tell you a story. You know the Reaper thing from just a diary. But I’ve seen people use that kind of power. These powers come from different feelings. Some have these from envy, rage or losing someone you love. Her sister... Keira. I knew her. She’s the soul mate of Alexander. She was a kind girl, a true witch, a pure soul. Every person from every clan wanted the power that comes from sacrificing her. But at the last minute fate had another thing coming. They couldn’t sacrifice her. She was meant to be sacrificed. So when she wasn’t symptoms started to come to light. Her spell would bring dead people back to life. She had that kind of strong power. But Keisha wanted nothing more than to kill her own kid.”

“Was...Is she dead? Who is this Alexander and Keisha?”

I was really confused. What this had to do with Amy?

“This Amy we’re talking about. That’s her real mother. Roth Gill isn’t her birth mother. Keisha was a manipulative bitch. She had a hunger for all kinds of power. Doesn’t matter if it’s white or black magic. She was the first Reaper in that family long before Catherine Deshayes. Keisha was the true monster and yet her cousin Catherine paid the price."

"What?" I remembered mom talking about her but I never knew all these were connected.

"Catherine was hung and burned into a witch trial even if she was only a witch, not a Reaper. But as Keisha always used people for her own good many people got doomed on the way. And top of it Keisha was cursed when she had children in her womb. So it was bound to happen that they were also going to be bearing this dark side. That night... Keira came to New York hoping to meet her sister, your suspect Amy but Keisha betrayed Keira and took her mentor’s soul. It caused the feelings to come out and act upon it. Keira was the one who set that fire not Amy.” He finished explaining but I was still numb. Amy wasn't the one...

She was innocent.

“You still didn’t tell me if Keira is alive. Because if she is... I have to report her of murdering. Too much people have lost their lives that day.” I said with a frown. I knew it wasn’t Amy. My gut feelings were right.

“She is neither dead nor alive. You see... Keisha has a bad habit of body jumping. She body jumped into Keira and being the naive girl Keira is...She put a dagger on her heart. It took both of them to hell. It was the only way. Now if you want to drag Keira from hell to this earth I’m more than happy to assist you.” He said with a grin.

“I-I... So why was Amy accused?” I mumbled thinking of thousand possible ways to know what went wrong.

“That boyfriend of her... Keira might have killed him.” He startled me by answering the question I was only meant to ask myself. “But that boy didn’t know she wasn’t Amy. So when Keira was dragged to hell every person’s soul she took was returned to their body. But know it... It creates a potential change in them which makes them more than human.” He said while taking a seat. I didn’t know we were walking into a park but sat with him anyway.

“What’s that supposed to mean?" I asked him.

“Did you went back to that town after that?” He asked me looking into my eyes. They were uncomfortable to watch. Like they were bearing your soul out.

“No...That town was cleared out.” I replied quietly.

“Don’t be surprised if you saw people there. They can travel through portals. They can make people do their dirty works because every soul was taken supposed to be there forever. But when you reverse it... they change. Like a shy person will be bubbly, a mother will want to kill her child. And when Zach saw Amy in Keira, he’ll want nothing but revenge. If I would you I’d say that girl needs to be warned." He said and his expression said it was serious. Didn’t I know how deep shit this situation was?

“Ugh...Thanks again. But you still didn’t tell me who Alexander is?” I asked him about this mysterious person I heard before.

“Some things should be unspoken dear...you don’t want to be in his bad side. He has lost his wife and went mad. If he knows you know about Amy... Don’t be surprised if you see him for yourself.”

And then he was gone. Like he just literally vanished in the thin air. Did I have every answer I wanted? Yes, I had.

But unfortunately, that wasn’t the answer for the real world to understand...
