Wedding Day Vampire
Chapter 19

“What? Who said that? Please come forward, introduce yourself and tell us how you intend on removing the Odinbre,” the queen said, thinking it was a teeny-weeny pointed eared pixie that had spoken.

Suddenly from behind the trees that stood behind the meeting point, three large vampires, Dana and her friends came out to meet the pixies. No one had noticed them standing there since, as everyone was in a panic situation over what was about to befall Pixieland. The crowd of pixies turned to see them as they came out from behind the trees.

“Welcome,” the queen said. “I am glad that you are here. Please come forward, the enchanted forest has not had visitors in years. What group of mystical creatures do you belong, if I may ask?”

“We are vampires,” Derick responded to her as they walked forward.

“Oh, I see, then you will have no problem removing the tree, as I know very well that vampires are blessed with great strength and immortality. Thank you for offering to help us. We really appreciate it.”

“Yes, but we will need a small favor from you. We are looking for a pixie, we don’t know if you will be able to help us locate her, but we would appreciate it if you did.”

“There is no problem about that, as long as you have some of her magic, or anything peculiar about her, then we will help you look for her.”

“Ok then,” Dana said. “So, when do you want to remove the tree?”

“Tonight, we want to hold a small celebration to honor the Odinbre for being our shelter for so many centuries. It is a shame we have to let her go now, and the citizens of Pixieland will miss her terribly. We do hope that you will not mind having to join us for the celebration.”

“We do not mind at all,” Dana said. “In fact, we would love to join you.”

“Very well then,” the queen said returning to address the pixies. “You may now all be dismissed, and thank you for heeding to the distress call.”

The pixies one by one, began to take their leave and returned to Pixieland, each thanking the vampires as they returned to their homes.

After all the pixies had left, the queen stood there with the other group of leaders and the pixie guards. She turned back to speak to the vampires.

“I will have my guards arrange a temporary structure for you, it might not be very good, but we hope that you will manage as our hands are not large enough to build you the best.”

“It is no problem,” Dana said. “We do not mind sleeping on the ground, as we not only get to bask in the beauty of the enchanted forest, we also get to lie in the hands of mother nature.”

Joana tried to check if there was any wool in her ears. She did not just hear Dana say that they were going to sleep on the cold forest ground.

“Thank you for helping us once again,” the queen said.

“You are most welcome,” Dana replied. “And we are happy to have been of help.”

The queen, along with the other pixies who stood there, began to leave to return to the Pixieland palace. The vampires remained at the empty space that the pixies had just held their meeting, where the shades of the trees formed a canopy, protecting them from the rays of the sun as the vamscren had already worn out.

They all lay there and rested for a while until the pixies began to gather in front of the Odinbre tree where some of the pixies stood on top of the branches, the queen sent her pixie guards to call the vampires so they could come and remove the tree as soon as the ceremony was over. She then began her speech.

“Citizens of Pixieland, earlier today we gathered in a state of emergency, as we did not know how we would remove the Odinbre, this tree that has stood as our shelter for centuries, providing us with food, shelter and protection from the storms, but now this tree has decided to rest on, as it can no longer keep helping us. I want to specially thank the vampires, who came to visit the enchanted forest today and decided to help us. Words are not enough to describe how grateful we are to you for deciding to help us, as you had the chance to refuse but you did not. After this gathering, the Odinbre will no longer stand here as a threat to the existence and continuation of Pixieland. We will miss her greatly, and we hope that she will replace another home for her solid roots to stand firm.”

After a series of tree-themed performances from some other pixies on the stage, the ceremony ended and everyone said their goodbyes to the Odinbre, before Derick was called to pull it down.

Joana had never seen so much strength in a man as he began to lift the tree from his roots, she never knew vampires had such immense power, she felt her heart beating fast she saw his muscles dancing from the grip of the giant tree in his hand, why was her heart beating so fast? And why did he look so sexy pulling down that tree? you have a fiancé Joana, she said in her mind as she nudged herself. Behave.

Oh my God, she hoped Dana wasn’t spying on her thoughts again.
