Wedding Day Vampire -
Chapter 42
“Why are you standing there?” He asked her.
“Nothing, I just finished taking a shower,” she said.
“Really? You’ve been in there for how long?”
“I don’t know, the water refreshes me,” she shrugged.
“Are you going to sleep or are you going to keep bothering me?”
She looked at him more attentively, he was talking to her in a neutral manner, like he was unaffected by the situation, whilst she was freaking out inside. The urge to be with Derick was not one she could suppress easily.
“Well?” He asked her again, snapping her out of her thoughts.
“Sorry for waking you up, I’ll sleep now.”
She dried her hair with the small towel she took in her hand before climbing into the bed with him. She didn’t know if she could sleep consciously, knowing that what she wanted was right beside her. Derick slept off again, but she couldn’t. She didn’t want to take any chances by going to sleep and having those dreams again only to wake up beside the one she was dreaming of; nothing would stop her from having s*x with him then.
The hours passed and she lay there beside him, refusing to let her eyes close and refusing to steal a glance at him while he slept. Even though she was tired, she could handle it. After all, she was a vampire with remarkable strength.
It was already evening time when Derick woke up, how could he have slept so comfortably?!
“Hey, did you sleep well?” He asked her with a devious smile after yawning.
“Like a baby,” she said sarcastically.
He knew very well she hadn’t slept; he knew that her libido went high gradually just by being next to him, he knew it took all she had not to give into the temptation to f**k him, he was tempted too, but he had learnt to control his urges while being with her long ago. The only time he let it slip was when he kissed her at the balcony, and after that argument, he promised himself he wouldn’t let it happen again.
“Ok then, we’d better get going now.”
He walked to the couch to get his shirt he had thrown there when he came in and began putting it on. She got down from the bed and walked into the bathroom to retrieve her clothes she had left there. She came out after she was fully dressed and they came out of the room and into the courtyard.
Then they unfolded their wings and flew out through the open space.
Joana brought out the map she had in her pocket that led to the temple. It wasn’t too far from the hotel, and after almost half an hour, they stood in front of the temple gates.
They both walked in and hadn’t gone into the building yet before they were stopped by a priest, the priest was speaking mandarin to them, and after a few unsuccessful attempts to communicate with them, he began to yell and point at their shoes.
“I think he means we should take them off,” Joana said to Derick who was already getting impatient.
“After they did, he nodded his head and welcomed them in.”
They entered the building and passed through many statues and adornments depicting ancient history and the black dragon king, when they reached the courtyard, they were at a loss.
So where do we replace her now? Derick asked.
According to my research, it says she can be found in the watery cave in this temple, and now the only person here is someone we can’t even communicate with.
“He’ll communicate all right,” Derick said. “Wait for me.”
He left her there and within a matter of seconds, he returned with their shoes and the priest, who had clearly been hypnotized.
“He’ll lead us to the watery cave; he knows where it is.”
The priest led them through the big temple and out to the backyard, a huge cliff with a waterfall stood a mile away from the temple, and from the backyard, one had a clear view of the cliff. Near the cliff was also a lake which was formed as a result of the waterfall, Derick looked closely and could spot a small cave behind the falls from where he stood. The priest pointed at the cliff numbly.
“Of course, that must be the watery cave,” Derick told Joana before turning back to the priest. “Thank you for your services, you will return to your position at the entrance, and you will at resume your point of duty, you will forget that we ever came here, you may leave now.”
The priest nodded his head and left them at the backyard.
Joana was amazed, never had she imagined in her life that she would meet a dragon in real life. She kept on staring at the mountain in the distance, thinking about what her meeting with Yin would be like.
Are you going to keep staring at it or do you want to go there and see how things will turn out for yourself?
“I’m sorry let’s go,” she snapped out of her day dreaming and launched into the sky with Derick, ready to meet with the black dragon.
