“Those were the longest twenty minutes of my life,” one of my cranky kidnappers said as soon as the van stopped.

“Those were my funniest.” I stood up when I felt a hand grab my elbow.

“Sometimes, I regret doing a specific job, and this is my biggest regret so far. She is the most annoying girl I have ever met in my entire life.”

“Awe, thank you. I really do try.” I was genuine because it was a pleasure to annoy who wanted to cause me harm.

“Walk in silence.”

“Nah, I’m good. I still need to pee.”

“Fine! You, take her to the bathroom but don’t you dare leave her alone.”

“Excuse you? I need privacy in the bathroom.”

“No can do.”

“Then I pass, no need for a bathroom break after all.” They were starting to anger me, and it was not a good thing for them for me to be mad.

They sighed, and I rolled my eyes. “Finally! You take her to the dungeon, and you two will come with me.” A man instructed, and I was left with who I thought a new man. Hopefully, he’s the idiot one of them all.

“You are the only one here? You weren’t in the van, right?” I asked him to make sure.

“Yes, does it matter?”

“It does. Take off my mask. I can’t breathe well in it.” He did not need to know that I was lying. He did not even ask any more questions as he removed it, and my hope of him being an idiot became a reality. The funny part was that I had no chains on. Men underestimate a girl’s power when threatened or hungry. I was feeling both.

I blinked a few times to adjust my sight to the light since it was too bright. I looked around and saw old cells on both sides. I looked at the masked man and shivered in fear when I saw his eyes. They were dark and emotionless. “Where are you taking me?” I asked.

“To that cell,” he said as he pointed to the last cell on the right. I looked to the left, and my eyes widened. I was starting to think that my life is a book.

“Divana?”

I looked at the three familiar men in the left cell, and the hope of getting out of here grew. I was planning my escape plan alone. However, these men could definitely help. They were Jino’s friends: Delmo, Faron, and Keyton, along with men I did not know but seemed good. They were a total of nine men. “What are you doing here?” I asked as I was put in the cell across from them. The masked man left us alone after he locked my cell.

“They kidnapped our family members and told us to stay here if we wanted them to be free. Of course, we entered by our free will, and they released them after the kidnappers made sure we’re restricted.” Faron explained with sadness in his eyes.

“But why?” I asked, and they all looked at me with troubled expressions.

“They told us that they will bring girls to…” Keyton began to say, and I paled. “To rape and let us watch the process.” He finished with his head tilted down.

I grabbed the poles and squeezed them. “What? They told me that they kidnapped me for money! They did not mention that sick part!” I yelled, and I was starting to panic. I did not want a repeat of my past. No. “I need to get out! Now! I need to get out now.”

“Divana, calm down, honey. They will come, be quiet for now, please.” Delmo waved his hands to grab my attention, and it worked. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a second. “Good, good. You are strong, honey. Stay calm. We need to think of a plan.”

I nodded and sat on the ground. “You are right, just give me a second to even my breathing. I feel like I ran a marathon, and I don’t run.”

“You are strong, Divana, don’t worry. We will think of something to save you and us,” Faron said. The other men nodded with determined expressions.

“All of you from the Limpadores mafia?” I asked.

“Yes,” they replied simultaneously.

“Did you see anything before you were prisoned here?” I asked as I crossed my arms.

“No, we had masks on,” Keyton replied.

“Same, but I do remember my way out. I focused on my steps. Still, I need to make sure. I need them to walk me out at least once before I can do anything,”

“That would be great, but how are you going to convince them to take you out?” a man asked, and I grinned.

I cleared my throat and took a deep breath. “Hey! No La Vida chickens, come here! I need to pee!” I shouted at the top of my lungs, and the man that took my mask off walked inside.

“What?”

“Are you deaf? I said I need to pee! Take me to the bathroom.”

“Are you sure? Because I would have to enter the bathroom with you,”

“Awe, you are such a gentleman to take my feelings into consideration.” I rolled my eyes, and he scoffed.

“Fine, but for five minutes.”

“That’s all the time that I need,” I whispered and walked out.

“What?” he asked and grabbed my elbow.

“What?” I used my way to dodge the subject and winked at the guys.

I recalled my steps carefully and knew that the door next to the bathroom was our way out. The masked man entered the bathroom with me as promised, and I crossed my arms. “Now, turn around, and if you peek, I will kick you in the nuts.”

“Hurry,” he said and turned around. I did my business quickly, and we walked back to the dungeon. One thing I learned was that this masked kidnapper had the keys, and I had to take them. So before he could throw me in the cell, I faced him and crossed my arms.

“Is there a different reason for you to place me here? If you want money, you’d have placed me in a small windowless room, so why here?” I asked what I already know the answer to, and Delmo’s eyes widened.

“You are a smart one, aren’t ya?”

“I know I am.”

“Girls are born to serve us, men, and to entertain us. If you want to know so bad, I will show you,” he answered and pushed me to the ground.

“No, let her go!” Faron yelled, and I eyed him. He needed to know that I had a plan. I never dive into the danger zone without a plan.

“No. I will let you enjoy the show, gentlemen.”

He pinned my arms above my head, and my eyes never left the keys on the psycho’s waist. As he let go of one arm and started lifting up my shirt, I took my chance and grabbed the keys. Before he could take them back, I slid them towards the guys’ cell. The masked man wanted to run and take it, but I locked my legs around his waist. “Let me go!” he shouted, and I laughed.

“The tables have turned. It isn’t so fun when your the one being held, right?”

“Cadela! Damn it!” he cursed and started punching my face. Even though it hurt, I tightened my grip.

“Divana, let him go,” Delmo demanded, and I did. The moment I let go, he was thrown off me by Keyton, and Faron helped me stay awake because the punches bloody ached. I looked at the man, and he was almost unconscious until Keyton delivered the last strike. “Bastard!”

Two men carried the kidnapper and threw him into the cell and locked him in. “We have to go, can you walk?” Keyton asked me, and I tried to stand up, yet fell back down. “Guess not.” He chuckled.

“Sorry,” I said, and Faron laughed.

“Sorry? You saved us!” he said as he carried me bridal style. They were almost fifty years old, and they were still fit.

“Not yet, we need to get out before someone catches on. I know where is the exit, let’s go.” They followed my instructions, and we were out after one of our men fought another kidnapper swiftly. After that, it was all black.
