After dropping Miranda and Paul off, Winter drove to the bar. The ride was smooth. But just as she was about to park at the bar entrance, a Maserati zipped in from the side and slammed into her rear.

Winter was furious. She slammed her door and marched to the front of the other vehicle. “What the hell is wrong with you? Do you know how to drive? Why are you stepping on the gas instead of slowing down? “You’re speeding right here, and you’re not even looking where you’re going. My car wasn’t even halfway in the parking space. Were you not paying attention? How did you even hit me?”

The Maserati driver’s door swung open, and a man stepped out with a grin. “I was curious who it was, and it turned out to be you. It’s just a minor bump. You don’t have to lose your cool.”

Zach swaggered over to Winter with a cheeky smile.

“Oh! It’s Mr. Graaaaaham.” She dragged out the syllables while keeping the sarcasm subtle enough.

He assessed the rear of the Ferrari and realized it was indeed badly hit. But he maintained his usual nonchalance. “It’s not a big deal. I was just going a bit fast and wasn’t paying attention. Looks like we had a little… close encounter, right?”

“Since when did we have a close encounter?” Winter rolled her eyes. “Be clear about what you mean.”

Zach replied, “Fine. I’ll take the blame. I’ll call the insurance and ask them to tow your car for repairs.”

She retorted, “Take the blame? It’s obviously your fault. You’re supposed to call insurance. Now I’m going to be without a car for a while.”

“You, of all people, without other cars? You must be joking.”

Winter didn’t feel like arguing with Zach. She tossed him the car keys and said, “I’ve got things to take care of. You handle this.”

Just as she was about to head into the bar, a woman suddenly rushed over and slapped him across the face. It was a sharp and loud smack.

Winter was dumbfounded and wondered why that woman was so fierce.

Zach was momentarily stunned, but he quickly snapped back to reality. He ran his hand along the side of his face where she had slapped him and smiled. “Ms. Seacrest, you should be thankful I don’t hit women.”

“Stop pretending to be charming! You’re just a loser and a jerk.” After her outburst, the woman, Mira Seacrest, couldn’t hold back her tears and threw herself into his arms.

She added, “Are we really breaking up? Can’t we just stay together? Even if you don’t want to marry me, that’s okay. We can still be a couple.”

Mira was beautiful. She wore a tailored white suit that made her look sharp and elegant.

Winter observed as Mira cycled through laughter and tears. Plus, her voice changed from sweet to sharp. The way she looked at Zach was a tangled mix of love and resentment, and it felt utterly off.

She cried like a scene from a melodrama while his expression remained blank. Even when she hugged
