Chapter 0393
The car stopped at the entrance of an alley, and Miranda got out. Sebastian and Madison had already gotten out ahead of her.
Miranda walked in the direction of her apartment. Illuminated by the gentle moonlight, a few sparse stars dotted the night sky. The wind wasn’t cooling as it carried the lingering heat of summer.
Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks. Leaning against a tree, a man was standing at the entrance of L apartment building with his hands in his pockets. The moment he saw Miranda, he instinctively straightened up and smiled at her.
“What’s the matter? Are you surprised to see me?” Sam walked up to her.
Miranda was stunned for a couple of seconds. “A little.”
“Have you gotten used to the new semester?”
“Yeah.”
“Is your schedule packed?”
His question hit Miranda right in the sore spot. It was more than packed. Her schedule was overwhelming!
Sam shrugged. “I already know the answer by your expression.”
“Am I that obvious?” Miranda touched her face.
“Not really.”
“Then how did you guess?”
Sam replied, “I’ve got sharp eyes.”
Miranda’s lips twitched with mirth.
He continued, “It’s too hot outside, but I know you won’t invite me up to your place. How about we replace a cooler place to sit?”
“Sam is rather self aware,” Miranda thought.
“I bet you’re thinking that I’m a tactful guy who is quite self–aware,” Sam quipped.
Miranda was taken aback.
“Looks like I guessed right again, didn’t I?”
She didn’t know how to respond.
The two headed to the same café they had visited before that was right across the street. It had air conditioning and was nice and cool.
However, Sam seemed out of place in the casual atmosphere of the café. Dressed in a business suit, he drew plenty of attention from others in the shop.
Miranda asked, “What do you want to drink? My treat.”

Chapter 0393
“Oreo live with less ice and added:
“Huh?”
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Sam rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
Miranda fell silent for two seconds before ordering at the counter. “Two Oreo lattes, less ice with added
sugar.
As soon as she spoke, Sam chuckled softly. “So, you like that too. Does this mean that we’re fated?”
Miranda replied, “It’s just a coincidence.”
Sam merely smiled. What were the odds that such coincidences could happen?
Over the years, he hadn’t figured out Miranda’s food preferences completely, but he certainly knew her better than Hansel.
Soon, the lattes were ready. They sat down to chat while sipping their drinks.
Miranda asked, “Alright, what did you want to talk about?”
“Can’t I just come to see you for no reason?” Sam raised an eyebrow.
She hesitated for a moment before speaking, “I don’t think you would do that.”
If Sam merely wanted to chat, he wouldn’t have suggested replaceing a cooler place to talk. Moreover, he wouldn’t have shown up outside her building at night without reason.
Even if… he had come just to see her, Sam would have found a suitable excuse without appearing at her doorstep unannounced.
“So, who was the person who showed up unannounced?” A sharp glint appeared in Sam’s eyes.
Miranda was at a loss for words. Was this the reason why he came?
‘Did Hansel come to see you recently?”
Miranda didn’t want to answer his question.
However, Sam wasn’t ready to drop the subject. He gave her a meaningful smile and said, “Let me guess. First, he definitely showed up, and it wasn’t at night.”
She didn’t respond.
“I bet he brought a bouquet of flowers too.”
Miranda was taken aback at this point.
Sam continued, “He definitely didn’t show up at the entrance of your apartment. It wasn’t at night, so it must’ve been during the day. Since it’s during the day, you would be on campus most of the time, so… Did Hansel come to look for you on campus?”
Sam nailed everything completely!
Miranda couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re so good at guessing. Why don’t you become a fortune teller?”
Chapter 0393
“I’m not interested in other people’s destiny.”
She quipped, “Then, what are you interested in?”
