Feeling wronged yet hopeful, Ingrid asked, “Did you just say Hansel would give me a proper status? What did he say?”

Now that the baby was gone, and the 500 million vanished with it, her hopes of getting the money had faded. But if she could marry into the Johnson family and become part of the wealthy elite, would she ever worry about money again?

Ingrid had spent the past month in the hospital. During that time, she was often thinking about how, when she was still pregnant and the baby was fine, she would constantly go to the hospital, argue with Hansel every day, and fight with Evelyn….

The next day, the mother and son duo showed up at Hansel’s company again. The front entrance was heavily guarded, so they couldn’t get in.

Luckily, Franklin had found a hidden door behind an advertising poster, which led to the building’s fire escape.

The door blended into the wallpaper so well that it was hard to notice at first glance. Once through the door, they could access any floor in the building.

But to their dismay, there was no elevator.

“Mom… maybe we should think of another way?” Franklin gulped. Climbing 20 or 30 floors was going to be brutal.

Lucy snapped, “What are you afraid of? Just climbi Five million is at stake here. You still think this is too much work?”

Franklin was instantly motivated. Money was waiting at the top!

50 minutes later, they finally reached Hansel’s floor. Lucy pulled out a wrench she had prepared in advance and smashed open the fire escape door, giving the staff no time to react.

She began shouting at the top of her lungs. “Hansel Johnson, you scumbag! If you don’t give us an explanation today, I won’t live anymore!

“Everyone, come and judge this! Hansel got my daughter pregnant and now refuses to take responsibility! My daughter is still in the hospital, and we have no money and no one to help us! He’s pushing us into a

corner!

“If you don’t take responsibility, I’ll jump from here! Even in death, I won’t leave you in peace!”

Lucy shouted with all her might, but unfortunately, the soundproofing between the floors was excellent. No one on the other floors could hear her screams.

On this floor, however, the only people present were Hansel’s assistants and secretaries–none of whom dared to let any word of this leak out.

Even so, Lucy didn’t know this. She continued yelling and screaming with all her energy.

The staff around her exchanged awkward glances, unsure how to respond. It wasn’t until Lucy sat on the window ledge, threatening to jump, that they began to take her seriously.

She could die for all they cared, but she couldn’t die here.

Thankfully, Hansel emerged from his office just in time. His expression was cold as he looked at Lucy, who was perched on the window ledge, and Franklin, who was pretending to dissuade her.

“Are you done?” he asked in a flat tone. “Isn’t it money you’re after? Come inside and talk.”

Without waiting for their reaction, he turned and walked back into his office.
