When Left -
CHAPTER 15
Chapter 15 Mr. Valence did not approve.
Upon hearing this, I realized that besides Bentley, there was another person intently staring at me- Chris. This query exacerbated my response impediments.
want to lie to Bentley, but if I told him the truth, he would definitely not let us divorce.
1 hesitated.
Before I could speak, Valence said knowingly, “Alright, I understand. Just give me some face. He grew up without his biological mother around, which caused his annoying personality. Don’t be angry with him.”
Finally, he grabbed Christopher’s ear.
“If you replace my existence too bothersome, you can just hurry up and anger me to death. Once I’m gone, you can think about divorce all you want, and no one will stop you!”
“Are you threatening me with death now?” Christopher said lightly.
“How dare you speak to me like that?” Bentley, getting angry, tried to hit him again.
Again, Christopher dodged and compromised, saying, “I understand your point. I don’t mind. You should ask her.”
And Christopher had that indifferent attitude again.
After speaking, he glanced at his watch. “I have a meeting to attend.
He left naturally, leaving me alone to face Bentley.
After a moment, he said seriously, ‘Hope, I’m not trying to force you into anything. I just don’t want you to have any regrets. You like him.”
Then he pointed to his heart. I can see it clearly here. Evelyn is too scheming; she’s not suitable for Christopher.”
“But he likes Evelyn.”
“Chris can’t see his own heart clearly.”
Bentley stood up slowly, “But he will see it clearly ultimately. Promise me, give it another try with him, okay?”
Since he said it in that way, I couldn’t refuse anymore, so I had to agree at that moment.
After Mr. Valence left, I placed the agreement on the table.
I stared at the words “Divorce Agreement for a while, feeling a bit absent–minded.
“How come I didn’t realize you would pretend to want a divorce?” Christopher’s cold voice rang out.
He had returned from the meeting.

1 frowned. “What do you mean?”
He sneered, “If you really wanted a divorce, why did you tell Grandpa so quickly?”
“Was it me who told Grandpa?
“Who else but you?”
Suppressing my sadness, I pushed the divorce agreement towards him. Word by word, I said, “Please sign it. Let’s get the divorce decree as soon as possible,”
A look of bewilderment appeared on his calm face.
“Didn’t you promise Grandpa?”
“I did.” I explained, “But that doesn’t stop us from getting a divorce first. We just need to keep it from Grandpa.”
Recalling the words I overheard outside the door, I had no intention of continuing this marriage with Christopher.
I couldn’t bring myself to entangle with him.
Christopher seemed amused.” You can’t wait, can you? Is that man you like rushing you?”
I looked at him disappointedly. “Christopher, not everyone can be as brazen as you in having an affair within a
marriage.”
“Am I having an affair?”
“Aren’t you?”
I said slowly, “You claim it’s just to repay a debt. But is that really the case? You left your newlywed wife for Evelyn. You frequently stayed out all night. You broke your promises time and time again for her! You put a hypocritical excuse of repayment on your affair, but you can’t truly cover up the facts!”
Christopher was taken aback. “You’re so dissatisfied with her? Or are you jealous?”
He was acting irrationally.

I forced myself to calm down, uncapped the pen, and handed it to him. “That doesn’t matter. Christopher, please sign.
Christopher’s face darkened. He picked up the agreement and scrutinized it. “Do you want that house only?”
“Yes.”
Although the house was a gift from him, I had put a lot of effort into its decoration.
Apart from that, I didn’t want anything else.
The house would provide a place for me and the baby to live. Even though I couldn’t earn a lot of money, I could still offer a relatively comfortable life for the baby.

In this way, even if the baby’s parentage was exposed one day, I could let him draw a clear line with the Valence family,
After all, the Valence family never spent a penny to raise him.
“Alright, I’ll sign it when I have time.”
Christopher casually tossed the agreement into a drawer.
I frowned. “Don’t you have time now?”
What could delay him from signing a document?
Christopher said coldly, “I need to have the lawyer review the agreement first.”
“Fine, then do it as soon as possible.”
After saying that, I went straight back to my office.
The divorce was proceeding.
Now, all left was to resign.
I called the HR department internally. “David, this is Hope Royston. I wanted to ask why my resignation application hasn’t been approved yet?”
“Mr. Valence said it’s not approved. I’m sorry. I must have been too busy in the past few days and forgot to reply to the email.”
Christopher didn’t approve it?
He should be as eager for me to leave as Evelyn, right?
I had to call Christopher again. “David said you rejected my resignation application; isn’t that true?”
“Since you want to keep our divorce a secret from Grandpa, continuing to work at the Valence Group is essential, or he will become suspicious.”

Christopher’s words made sense..

After hanging up, I realized he had yet to reject it a few days ago, right? Bentley only arrived today.
As I thought about it, I became agitated.
I didn’t know what Christopher was thinking.
I had been calm, but at this moment, I had a slight emotional change.
However, that tiny change disappeared when I saw Christopher leaving the company with Evelyn in the evening.
He hadn’t signed the divorce agreement yet, but he was getting close to Evelyn.

I went to the supermarket to buy some groceries.
1 returned to my new home alone and cooked carefully for myself and the baby.
The cooking skills I learned for Christopher were now used to take care of myself.
It wasn’t bad at all.”
I made fragrant, spicy baked fish and squeezed a pot of corn julee, which was perfect for soothing the spiciness,
It tasted great.
I could cook according to my taste..
Over the past three years, I had learned to cook, but I always catered to Christopher’s taste to avoid delicious spley.
After dinner, I went downstairs for a walk to aid digestion.
The doctor said the baby was growing well, and moderate exercise was good for both me and the baby.
Baby. Mom was trying very hard to live well. So, it didn’t matter if you didn’t have a father, right?
At night, after taking a shower, I lay in bed, and my phone rang.
It was Ivan.
I answered the phone groggily. “Hello, what’s up?”
“Hope Chris is drunk. He refuses to leave, no matter who asks him. Can you come and help?”
I became a bit more awake. “You know we’re getting a divorce. You should replace Evelyn.”
Christopher would definitely listen to Evelyn.
“Since you haven’t divorced yet, as long as you’re not divorced, you’re still his wife. It’s not appropriate for another woman to get him. Hope, please, can you help?”
“Ivan…”
Before I could say anything, Ivan had already hung up the phone.
