When Left -
CHAPTER 76
Chapter 76 I don’t have the habit of not hitting women
On the way to the hospital, I leaned weakly in the passenger seat, thinking about Christopher’s deeply mournful expression before leaving. It was like someone had squeezed lemon juice on my heart, sour beyond words.
But after that tant, the weight in my chest had lessen by a lot!
Yes.
Clearly, we lost our baby together.
Why should I be the only one in pain?
He should be in pain too; we should suffer together.
Cecil controlled the steering wheel with one hand, touching my forehead with the other. He looked concerned, saying. “You have a pretty high fever.”
I replied, “It’s okay, it’s just a cold; a few shots and I’ll be fine.”
I shook my head indifferently.
Anyway, I wasn’t pregnant anymore. This was only a simple fever, so I’d be fine with just some medicine.
MS Group was closest to Messlushi Hospital. Cecil was afraid of wasting time, so we didn’t change hospitals, and i
didn’t care about that either.
In such a big place, as long as it’s unintentional, no one can touch anyone.
However, I never thought that as we arrived and we got out, the hospital director would come with a doctor and two
nurses to greet us.
“Mrs. Valence.”
The director gestured for a nurse to support me. Then, he cleared his throat and warmly said, “Mr. Valence just called and explained, repeatedly emphasizing that your recent physical condition is special. He asked me to take your condition seriously if you have a fever again.”
I originally wanted to refuse, but then I compromised, “Okay.”
This did make things easier.
Moreover, we weren’t divorced yet. It was only right for me to use the Valence family’s resources.
However, what surprised me was that the director directly took us to the VIP ward area. I frowned and asked, “Isn’t this place full?
Even Beata’s room was something I fought hard for.

The director smiled flatteringly, “You are Mrs. Valence, so everyone else should make way for you as long as you need.
Everyone else?
There were only three rooms in the VIP ward, occupied by Evelyn, Brenda, and Beata.
At this moment, Christopher still felt guilty toward me. However, he definitely wouldn’t ask Beata to move out, and Evelyn and Brenda were both people he valued the most.
Before I could sort out my thoughts, I saw a few bodyguards standing at the door of the room Evelyn used to stay not far away.
Evelyn was there, an angry look on her face as they directly blocked her outside.
She snarled, “Oh, so you’re the one who took my room!”
As soon as she saw me, she immediately ran over in fury, ready to slap me, However, Cecil narrowed his eyes and quickly grabbed her arm!
He uttered, “Miss Valence, I don’t like hitting women.”
Unlike his usual gentleness, he spoke in a gloomy and somewhat intimidating tone.
Even Evelyn stared at him in surprise.
She withdrew her hand, but her anger didn’t subside. She glared at me, “What did you say to Christopher? Why is he suddenly angry at me and wants me to move out?!”
I replied calmly, “Do you think I had a say in that?”
“Hope!”
Evelyn’s face was cold as she ordered, “I advise you not to act shamelessly; tell Christopher now that you don’t need
the VIP ward.”
“Why not?”
I deliberately opposed her, “I want it; urgently.”
When I said that, I looked at the director. “Please arrange for someone to thoroughly disinfect inside and outside the room. I dislike the idea of someone unclean living here; it’s disgusting!”
“Rest assured, we’ll do it right away! Str. Valence specifically instructed that you like cleanliness.”
As soon as the director said that, several cleaning ladies arrived with cleaning tools. One of them looked at the director, Director, the disinfection is done. Every corner has been covered.”
Evelyn’s face changed colors, looking incredulously at the director. “Did Christopher really instruct this?”

“Absolutely.”
The director replied before leading me inside, closing the door and leaving Evelyn outside in helpless anger.
He said, “Mrs. Valence, please have a seat. Professor Smith will take a look at you.
After the doctor inquired about my symptoms, he skipped drawing my blood and directly prescribed medication. On the other hand, a nurse went to fetch the medicine and set up the IV for me.
When the need inserted, l’instinctively felt afraid and pulled my hand back, but a pair of cool hands suddenly
covered my eyes. “Don’t be afraid, it’s already in.”
I was relieved. Just as I relaxed, the needle pierced my vein.
Those hands moved away, I helplessly looked up at Cecil, “You lied to me?”
“It was a white lie.”
He chuckled.
After the nurse helped me lie down on the bed, she put a fever–reducing patch on me while the director and his team
left first.
With the cooling patch on, I instantly felt much more comfortable.
Cecil sat by the side of the ward, gesturing outside. His eyes were warm and hesitant as he asked, “Did I startle you just
now?”
I paused for a moment before realizing he was referring to scolding Evelyn earlier. I shook my head. “Not really startled; just a bit surprised.”
He pursed his lips, “Very surprising, right? Me losing my temper?”
I thought for a moment and replied, “Not really, I’m just used to seeing your good–tempered side. Nobody is a doormat; it’s normal to have a temper.”
He agreed, ‘Exactly.”
Cecil seemed to relax, his bright blue eyes sparkling as he smiled. “I used to have no temper, but I found out later on that I wouldn’t be able to protect the people I wanted to if that went on.”
“You mean that girl?”
I teased.
Cecil looked at me, smiling. “Yes. But when she was a child, she was sunny like a spoiled little princess; always protecting me. So initially, the person I’wanted to protect was actually my mom.”
“Who’d dare to bully her?” I instinctively continued.

His eyelashes drooped slightly, a bit lost as he tugged at the corner of his mouth, “Nobody dared to, originally.”
“What?”
His voice was a bit low, and combined with my groggy mind, I couldn’t hear clearly.
Elissa’s urgent voice suddenly came from outside, “Hope!”
The next moment, she pushed the door open.
I was surprised, “How do you know I’m here?”
She first carefully asked about my condition, and when she realized I was fine, she explained, “Ivan told me everything, including your room number. He asked me to hurry up to see you.”
This was undoubtedly Christopher’s doing.
Cecil was just accompanying me for a medical check–up, and he was worried about us being alone.
Despite that, he interacted with Evelyn based solely on his own perspective, without any explanation for me. It was quite ironic.
After Cecil took a work call, he smoothly approached Elissa.
Elissa was too busy today to chat with me, her hands on her hips at the ward door as she scolded Evelyn fiercely.
Her profanity and insults were remarkable. It didn’t take long for her to drive Evelyn away.
Elissa grumbled, “Finally she’s gone; what a nuisance.”
She returned and tucked me in, “Have a good sleep, I’ll keep an eye on the IV drip.”
“Okay.”
Whether it was due to the fever or the medication, I slept deeply for a long while.
Elissa only woke me up in the evening, with me eating some nutritious food before 1 fell back asleep.
It was a good night’s sleep that I hadn’t had in a long time.
However, I was unable to distinguish between reality and dream. In the middle of the night, I faintly heard footsteps.
They were very familiar.
Afterward, a pair of warm and dry hands gently wrapped around mine, pressing them against his forehead and leaving it there for a long time.
His slightly cool lips touched my forehead, nose, and even my eye. His voice was hoarse as he choked, “I’m sorry. I’m so
sorry.”
Chapter 76 I don’t have the habit of not hitting women:
So cold.
I was jolted awake by the chill. Looking at the empty bedside, it seemed like everything was all a dream.
But as I reached up to touch my forehead, it was wet.
