Chapter 235

When Natalie chose the stage name Annikato release her cover tracks, Gavin was in the loop.

He had been keen on signing Natalie as one of his talents. With her stunning looks and youthful vibe, she could easily make a splash on a talent show and then branch out into acting. She had the potential to be the next big thing.

But Natalie wasn’t into the idea of living in the limelight.

So, Gavin had let it be, allowing her to do her own thing.

Early one morning, Rosie came by with a business card for him. It was from Natalie, asking him to replace a reliable lawyer. Gavin got the message loud and clear.

Natalie was out to get Madelyn, she was after her.

Even though Madelyn was one of his artists, Gavin knew he’d got plenty of other singers with looks and talent. Without a second thought, he decided to ditch Madelyn.

At the moment, Madelyn was lying in a hospital bed. Gavin had made a show of concern, sending over a card and a bouquet.

Madelyn had come to, and when she saw him, she struggled to get up, calling him, “Mr.

James.”

Gavin glanced at her pitifully pale face and hummed an indifferent “Hmm.”

“Mr. James, it’s not just my fault about the plagiarism. The music producer is at fault, too. Why am I the only one to take the blame?” Madelyn whimpered, her eyes brimming with

tears.

“Yes, the producer is at fault, and I’ve let him go,” Gavin replied coldly.

Madelyn wasn’t looking for the producer to get fired. She wanted Gavin’s protection.

Mr. James…” Madelyn, usually so proud, hardly gave Gavin a second glance. But she was genuinely panicked at the moment.

Her voice was pleading, her face streaked with tears.

If a million isn’t enough, Annika is trying to extort us. We could sue her,” Gavin paused before responding.

Mr. James, but I…” Madelyn sobbed, struggling to catch her breath.

Alright, Lily will take care of this for you. For now, focus on getting some rest here in the hospital,” Gavin said as he stood up and left Madelyn to her thoughts.

Stunned, Madelyn watched Gavin walk out the door. Her heart sank. She had thought his

visit meant there was a chance for things to turn around, but he was only making a courtesy call! She had humbled herself to ask for Gavin’s help! If the company wouldn’t support her, who would?

Meanwhile, Lily had called Annika’s lawyer, hinting at settling for five million off the record.

Five million? Not even ten times that amount would work! Don’t even think about settling out of court. Annika is determined to take this to court!” The lawyer was ruthless in his response, hanging up immediately afterward.

Lily relayed the call back to Madelyn, who looked pitiful. She whispered, “Madelyn, maybe we should go to Mr. Howard. He won’t ignore this situation!”

But Brian was still upset over Natalie’s situation. He hadn’t answered her calls and had Bagot drop her off at her apartment instead.

Would he even listen to her?

Out of options, Madelyn picked up her phone, dialed Brian’s number, and waited. After a few seconds, the call connected.

On the other end was Natalie’s cold voice. “He’s in a meeting.”
