Chapter 307 Is Cedric Fuming?

“I'll glue the pieces back and soothe your pain. I'll take revenge on your behalf as well.” He said solemnly. It didn’t matter how long it might take, he’d show her that she could count on his words. Even if it took the rest of his life.

“| might've turned a blind eye to you in the past and left you to your fate, but | promise it won’t happen again.” He lowered his head and planted a kiss on her ear.

Cedric had spent countless nights regretting his actions.

He said, resolved, “I swear I’ll protect you with my life until the end of time.” This time, he’d deliver his promise.

“Protect me? You'll have to be alive to do that!”

Maia grabbed the pistol on the coffee table and poked at his left chest with it.

He used this gun to resist Fiona’s seduction and kicked her out. However, the only lady who could seduce him was threatening him with it. It was a wonderful feeling. It was a man’s duty to dote on the lady he loved.

“If the pistol misfires, you'll become a widow.” “We're divorced. | won't be a widow even if it does misfire.” Maia flashed him a sweet smile that was also blood-chilling.

However, Cedric wasn’t bothered by it. On the contrary, he loved that about her. Technically speaking, he loved everything about her so much that he was crazy about her. His wife was all grown up now. He had to protect her, but he had to give her room to do things her way.

“So, you're going to pull the trigger. Is that it?”

“I've taken care of Zera. Rita’s days are numbered from when | laid my hands on the painting. You're all that’s left, Cedric. | had a wonderful opportunity to do it now. It'd be a shame if let it slip. After all, I’m here to seek revenge.” Maia said so lightly it was terrifying.

Cedric chuckled and took a step forward, driving the pistol deeper into his chest. “Kill me. Everything | own is yours, and you can walk out of here unscathed.”

It didn’t sound like a joke and he looked dead serious. Maia trembled slightly. How could he be this calm? Wasn't he scared at all?

“Um...”

“Do it.” Cedric gripped her hands and pulled the trigger for her. “No!” She screamed in terror.

Aloud bang could be heard, but he stood unscathed before her. Maia was stunned for a while. He saw that she was terrified, so he took the pistol from her and tossed it to the bed. Then, he embraced her tightly.

“You took the bullets out, silly. What are you afraid of?”

All Maia could feel was her pounding heart. It felt as if she couldn’t breathe. It had utterly skipped her mind that she took the bullets out. Her mind drew a blank when he pulled the trigger. All that was left was fear in her heart.

Was she scared of losing him? She was terrified of pulling the trigger and killing him for real so much so that she forgot she had taken the bullets out earlier.

“If there were bullets in the pistol, you would’ve died.”

“I'm more than happy to.

Maia’s eyes widened, “H—Have you gone crazy, Cedric?”

“| love you the same way you loved me in the past. Madly.” he chuckled and said casually.

“Don’t you care about your own life?”

His smile widened, and Cedric pinched her nose lovingly, “You matter more than | do. I’m taking care of you now.” Maia was stunned. She looked at the pistol on the bed. “Anyway, when did you catch me taking out the bullets?”

“You were fast, but don’t forget I’m better at this than you are.”

She nodded, “That's true. | could trick the other guys but could never fool you.” She picked up

a lot of skills and knowledge for his sake in the past. She might be good with them, but he could easily see through it. Both of them didn’t say anything. He merely stared at her and frowned. He looked terrifying when he wasn’t smiling. “Who else did you try this trick on?”

“Are you going to tell me you’re the only one who can do it, Cedric?” She pushed him away lightly and walked away while holding the covers tightly. She didn’t want to entertain him.

“You can do anything with me, but not with the other guys. Not even a little!”

Maia leaned on the television cabinet and crossed her arms. Her long hair was strewn across

“Just how bossy could you be, Cedric? | didn’t get to become CEO of Starlight Entertainment through capabilities alone. | had to resort to more drastic methods when dealing with despicable collaborators. Was | supposed to let them walk all over me?”

“From this point on, I’m your guy. Let me know if you need to resort to drastic methods.”

“How have | never known that you're the jealous type? Perhaps you should keep me in the house and never let me out again. | had forgiven you, but I have yet to agree to marry you again. How are you this jealous already? What’s going to happen if...?” Maia paused abruptly.

“What was that?” “Ahem...” Maia cleared her throat awkwardly.

What was going to happen if they got married again? She was about to say that, but she modified her words a little. “What's going to happen if someone tries to hit on me? Are you going to be fuming with rage?”

“He could try. Once | fume with rage, it can only end in blood.”

“Well, then. You'll have to keep a lid on your temper, Cedric.”

Someone knocked on the door. A wary Baz turned the doorknob and cracked open the door, I've waited for you on the road for a minute, Mr. Cedric.”

Baz couldn't exactly see Maia from where he stood.

She straight up walked to Baz and flashed him her sweetest smile, “Good morning, my dear Baz!”

She did it on purpose. Cedric saw what she did and shot Baz a fierce glance. Baz trembled with fear. Then, Cedric kicked the door. It swung shut with a loud bang.
