Wing Of Change -
Chapter 32
Aria went back in to meet Frank by the door with his jacket hanging across his shoulder and ready to leave.
“Wait! Where are you going?”
“Home!”
“What about breakfast?”
“Doesn’t matter! Just hurry up and go meet your boyfriend”
“My what?”
“I heard you talking to him by the door okay? So I rather not inconvenience you right now. so am leaving”
She quickly stood in his way as he was about to walk by her.
“Look, i don’t know what you heard but Henry is not my boyfriend”
Frank only scoffed at her statement.
“Okay fine! You win. Henry is not my boyfriend. I just lied about Henry and I being lovers because I was mad at you”
“You expect me to believe that?”
She replied with a shrug. “What else do you need to believe”
“What is he doing here so damn early in the morning if he isn’t what you say he is”
Aria couldn’t help but chuckle hard at his jealousy. Who knew he had it in him.
“Henry is just my next door neighbor and a good friend. He just moved into the next apartment some months ago so if you are leaving because of that then you are wrong” she explained calmly before stepping aside for him to leave if he still felt like it.
“Wait! Are you serious?” His stance dissolving as he took a step closer to her.
She answered with a shrug.
Aria doesn’t have a boyfriend! He thought to himself grinning like he has been told he just won a lottery.
His lips crashing into her in a bit of frenzy got Aria in a giggling mess as she struggled to keep up with his assault against her lips.
Wrapping his arms around her in a bone crushing hug, he breathe down her neck before he began to whisper gently into her ears.
“You have no idea just how much that truth has relieved me. That lie has hunted me even in my sleep and in my waking moment. I thought I had lost you to that..that guy” he whined.
“Well you didn’t” she whispered back while rubbing gently at his back.
He pulled back and held her chin with both hands as he stared deep into those brown eyes of hers.
“And i don’t plan on ever loosing you to anyone”
“Why?”
“Because you are mine!”
“Oh?” She said with her l*p forming an ‘oh’ shape before he gently captured them in a slow yet passionate k**s again.
**
Aria relationship with Frank has been nothing but great this past weeks even though he hasn’t officially asked her to be his girlfriend yet but the atmosphere surrounding them has been that of a floating cloud with little heart shapes flying around.
Frank has staked his claim on her and made it clear enough to anyone who cared to know that she was his and tonight he was taking her out for their first official dinner date.
She picked up a causal blue straight cut cotton gown in one hand and a Denim jumpsuit in another as she stood contemplating on which to wear for the night.
And after much mental debate, she finally settled for the blue gown in which she paired with a red wedged heel sandals. Her braids was pulled up in a neat ponytail and folded into a bun and seating at the top of her head.
Aria looked simple yet flawless with her red lips and semi smoothed eyes when she stared back at her reflection in her dressing mirror.
She was getting better with her makeup skills if you must know!
Frank was picking her up in less than an hour as thoughts of him kept creeping into her mind and causing her stomach to flutter.
A few more minutes later and her door bell was ringing repeatedly. Grabbing her purse from the bed, she hurried over to the door and unlocked it.
“You showed up earlier than I thought” she breathe.
“I didn’t want to keep the lady waiting”
He reached out a hand to her and pulled her into a warm embrace before placing a quick k**s against the side of her l*p. Holding her close, he rubbed a circle against her back while inhaling every bit of her scent.
“You look and smell lovely” He told her after he pulled back a little.
“Thanks…you don’t look bad yourself” she gave a small smile as she checked him out.
Frank was dressed causally in a matching sky blue long sleeve shirt that was folded back into his elbow and tucked into a darker shade of blue trouser pant. His brown shoes matched perfectly with his equally brown belt and had him looking like he just jumped out of one of those popular men sexist magazine.
Frank stood a good inches towering over her petite figure as he continued to watch her intensely.
Biting at his bottom l*p slightly, he moved a step closer as he took hold of her hand again before caressing lightly against the side of her cheeks and causing her to blink rapidly with little shiver crawling down her spine.
“C’mon let go. I want to enjoy your company as much as I can while it’s still early”
It was just 7pm as she quickly turned towards her front door and turned up the lock before retrieving the key and placing it back in her purse.
Turning to face him again, she laced her left hand through his elbow before they both head outside towards the parking lot where his car was parked.
She thought she saw a movement at the far end of the corridor while she was securing her locks but was too distracted by Frank to pay mind to it.
Today was a dream come through and she was going to live through it while she is still wide awake with no single worries.
Aria sat at the passenger seat while staring out the window with sea of cars spread out ahead of them.
She felt a gentle touch against her left hand and turned and smiled at Frank who only held her gaze for a moment before focusing back on the road.
“Are you okay?” His voice was filled with concern as he squeeze gently against her hand.
“Yes am fine. I just have a terrible habit of staring at the scenery when am not driving”
His lips curved with a little smile when he heard her reply
“I don’t think it’s terrible Aria. In fact, i think it’s okay to just get a little lost in the beauty that surrounds us sometimes”
“You think so too?”
“Yeah! Why not?”
“Well, a lot of people don’t see it as normal you know? Some will even go as far as seeing it as being withdrawn or something”
“Well, that’s their opinion because I don’t see anything wrong with it” he stated.
“Now that makes two of us”
Frank held her gaze for a moment before he burst out laughing with Aria joining in as well.
Oh how much he has missed moment like that with her all these while she was gone for a week or more.
“Why are you laughing?” He stopped and asked her, still chuckling under his breath.
“I_don’t know”
“Now that’s not normal” he admitted even though he couldn’t stop laughing himself.
Aria thought she knew this man like the back of her hand but now she wasn’t so sure anymore. There was more to him than she ever thought existed and she was definitely looking forward to all the shades he is willing to share with her.
Aria was beginning to see the side of him he always managed to keep under wraps. That man seated beside her was light hearted and has a sense of humor. A trait he never once portrayed in front of his staffs. His usual stoic features was always masking the humor beneath his handsome face.
A few more minutes and they arrived at this awfully familiar place at the island and Aria couldn’t help but realized it was the same place from before.
The atmosphere was still as welcoming as she has remembered but she felt uneasy recalling the event that went down the last time she was here with him.
She had to tip a waiter to help get him to his car before driving him home.
Frank realizing the thought that might be going through her mind, he turned to her.
“I promise this time will be better than the last” he assured her with a smile.
It seemed Frank already had a reservation as they were immediately led to an empty table at the far end of the hall. Far from prying eyes with enough privacy.
It was a table for two with an ice bucket that holds a bottle of champagne in it.
He pulled out a seat for her before settling on the one beside her.
“You had all of this arranged for us?”
“You could say that” he answered with a smirk.
“It’s beautiful”
“You are beautiful” he replied and just kept staring at her.
“Thanks”
Aria had replied with a sheepish little smile. She was not used to Frank complimenting her at every step of the way like he seemed to be doing at the moment.
It was going to take a little bit of getting used to on Aria’s part.
Frank cleared his throat after a while propped himself forward.
“Are you tasty?” He asked as he reached for the bottle of champagne.
“Yes I am”
He poured out the champagne into two glasses and held one to her. Aria was about to sip hers when he stopped her midway.
“Sorry for the interruption but I needed to say something first or rather ask you something first”
“I hope the drink is not poisoned” she joked causing them both to laugh in a nervous way.
“No!_it’s not poisoned. I mean i hope not” he stammered.
“I know. I was just kidding so what is the question about”
“I’m not sure how to say this but I just wanted to get it off my chest before the day runs out” He began.
“Oh okay” she encouraged
“What am trying to say is that I like you. I mean I really really like you and not just as a person but because you are special. You make me feel special and ever since you came into my life and even walked out of it; my days up until now has been special and I don’t know what is it that makes you so special but I won’t mind replaceing out every single day because that’s how much I want to be with you and I can’t imagine doing all of that without saying this from my heart.” He took a pause and reached for her hand across the table and held her gaze and meaning every single word that spilled out of his mouth.
“Miss Ariana Davis, will you please be my girlfriend?”
