Wing Of Change -
Chapter 80
**
Past….
Frank couldn’t believe his luck when he existed his room and made it down the hallway of his parent mansion.
The stair ways was beautifully decorated in a sea of gold and silver balloon with bed of pink roses embedding the opposite walls and leaving a magnificent trail down the exist.
Strangers smiled at him as he walked past them and in search of his mom. She was far off the end of the hall speaking to some guest she must have invited.
Frank couldn’t believe the turn out of guest on such short notice. He noticed most of the people there were acquainted with his parent not him.
That fact didn’t bother him much because most of his friends were back in London and couldn’t make it down for his big day.
Many did sent their warm regards nonetheless.
His best friend Kelvin was not far behind from where he stood with tense shoulders. He could feel his heart contrasting on the inside with quiet panic as his gaze continued to take in the busy view before him.
This is it.
He thought with a contented sigh.
He was getting married to the love of his life. Something he has always dream about was finally coming through like a ray of sunlight that was set to invade his private sanctuary.
He has waited for so long for this day to become a reality. All the past trouble that came with making this day a reality seem so far away at that point that he felt nothing could go wrong now.
He was sure of it.
Frank felt a gentle tap on the shoulder and turned to stare at Kelvin. He was ready as well. Fully clothed in a well tailored wine suit and a black tuxedo just like he was.
He was about to be his best man for the ceremony after all.
“Are you ready? You look nervous” Kelvin had jested taking in his tense demeanor.
“I feel like I can’t breath man. I’m dead nervous” he admitted quite frankly, pulling at his own tie with a sigh.
“Let me help you with that before you mess it up and your bride hang me on the stake for it” he joked.
Frank only chuckled at his friend statement but turned around to face him so he can help with his tie nonetheless.
“This is normal” said Kelvin. Still pulling his tie to seat properly around his neck. “As long as you are not developing cold feet then am sure you’d survive through the day” he concluded with a wink.
Frank wasn’t exactly sure he’d make it through another minute without getting a glimpse of his bride.
They won’t even let him see her.
It’s bad omen to see the bride before the ceremony. His mom had announced it as though it was some sort of abomination.
They spoke throughout the night but he still couldn’t stand the thought of her being so far away from him.
Left to him? He would have droven down to her house himself to get her but rules were rules and he has to wait for his bride to arrive.
“C’mon man. Let go get a drink before you go crazy on me” said his friend Kelvin before pulling him towards a waiter carrying a tray of wine.
His mom has insisted the ceremony be held in their home and he couldn’t object as long as his bride was okay with getting married there then he was fine with the arrangement.
In all of the marriage chaos going on_his father seem to be missing because he hasn’t seen his shadow anywhere and it was staring to bother him a lot because of his initial objections to his tying the knot to his fiancée.
He found his mom at the kitchen and cornered her.
“Mom! I have been looking all over for you”
“I’m sure you are my dear but I had to make sure everything is in order before the priest arrives. He is already on his way”
“Where is dad? I need to speak with him”
“I don’t know son. Maybe he is also out making preparations as well” she answered absentmindedly.
Frank was beyond frustrated at his mom’s reply. He needed to go over some things real quick with the man and now he will have to wait.
He gave his mom a chaste k**s in gratitude before turning around to walk out.
He was going to call her again.
The priest was on his way too.

The once empty garden of decorated chairs were now filled with smiling guest at this point. Dressed in mostly gold which was the color of the occasion.
Some were dressed however they wanted. Many he recognized as staffs from his father’s company while others were blur.
All that mattered was in the fact that, everyone was present and waiting eagerly for the bride to make an appearance.
Thirty minutes has gone past the set time and she was still yet to walk through.
Frank could hear little whispers among the guest but he didn’t care. She was the queen of the occasion and she is pretty much allowed to take her time.
Thirty more minutes and his patience was beginning to grow really thin. His palm felt sticky due to how much he was sweating.
His anxiety was starting to get the best out of him with eyes glued to the direction where she is expected to walk through.
“She will be here soon” he heard Kelvin assuring him but his heart was starting to tell him things.
He glanced at his mom’s direction momentarily and held her gaze for a moment. she smiled back at him in return as though she could hear his secret thought.
He remembered all that had happened until that moment and couldn’t help but feel his heart swell on the inside.
Thanks to her_his father was there too after he refused to give his approval when he announced his marriage to her.
He never really understood his reasons for not accepting her. Now that he thought of it, it would have been because she was his secretary when he met her again after being away in London.
That didn’t stop him from insisting until he succumbed under his mother pressure and there they were, waiting for the reason everyone was gathered to walk through.
His eyes snapped towards the door when he heard heels clicking down the hallway and readjusted himself to a much straighter posture.
The time was finally here.
His bride has arrived.
But something was wrong.
The band wasn’t playing the usual welcoming song he has heard them played for days now and the uproar going off among the guest when the intruder walked towards him and handed him a white envelope didn’t allow another room for further thought.
With wide eyes and shaky hands did he manage to tear through that piece of paper just to lay his eyes on those words that could hunt him even in his sleep.
His marriage has been called off.
She isn’t going to show up.
He didn’t know how long he had the paper within his tight grasp before it was snatched out of his hands. All he knew was him running out of there and in search of her with only one question in mind.
Why?.
.
.
.
Back to present.
Frank stirred and turned in his sleep before reaching for Aria on the bed and found her side empty. He continued to tap around, hoping she was there somewhere on the bed but found it bare.
His eyes shot up in panic and scanned the room before seating up abruptly. It was past 7am in the morning.
“Aria?” He called with a lazy yawn.
He pulled off the sheet and picked his joggers pant lying around and pulled it up his butt before calling out to her some more.
“Where are you darling” he paused and walked back to the toilet. “Are you in here?”
The quietness of the room told him she wasn’t and he began to make his way down to the kitchen.
He found her in the kitchen swaying her h*p to the sound of music playing in the background. she looked happy and at home and they was no need to panic.
She hasn’t left.
She was right there and safe. Nothing to panic about.
She was really there.
He closed his eyes for a moment. Allowing himself to calm down a bit which only reminded him of what they spoke about last night.
They were getting married.
His heart slammed against his chest at the very thought. she had accepted without much objections.
What if something goes wrong and she decides to change her mind about it.
Hopefully not.
He blinked his thought away and continued to watch her dance and dish out food before she stopped mid way when she spotted him leaning by the corner.
“Good morning lover. Care to join me?”
A little smile spread across his face at the sound of her voice.
“Gladly my lady”
Pushing himself off the wall, he began to walk towards her with a smug grin.
“How long have you been standing there?” She asked with a knowing grin.
“Long enough to watch you sway that sexy a*s of yours” he wrapped an arm around her before placing a k**s against her cheek.
Aria only giggle at the soothing sensation before relaxing against him. His arms went around her and rubbed at her belly lovely.
“Good morning little one. Your dad is out here messing with your mom” he uttered with a chuckle.
“You know he can hear you right” she questioned with a small smile.
He gave a chuckle against her neck causing her to giggle even more.
“I don’t doubt it because I felt her move”
Turning her around, he looked her over before settling on her lips. “Have you called Lizzy about that dress yet?”
“I have and am meeting up with her in an hour or two”
“Okay good. Because am coming with you”
She took a step back to stare at him with a disapproving glare.
” No you are not. You have work to do at the office” she so reminded him causing a frustrated g***n to erupt from his throat.
“Gina can’t handle it without me being there. I just have to give her directive”
Aria arch a brow at him. “You never did that with me while I was your assistant”
“Well that’s because I never had another important thing to do other than my work at the office so this is different” he defended
“Alright then. But you will have to hurry up with breakfast or am leaving without you” she warned before turning back to continue dishing out more food into a separate plate.
“No you are not” he answered quickly before making his way out of the kitchen and up the stairways to get ready.
“You better hurry up” she had called after him.
