Chapter 85

Kelvin did show up right when his friend was about to flag down a taxi to drive him to wherever he was itching to head off to.

“What took you so long Kelvin. You have been gone for more than an hour” he practically yelled at his friend before climbing into the passenger seat with a huff.

“I’m sorry man. Lizzy needed to change her clothes too so I took her back to her house and we were already on our way back when you called” he calmly explained to his friend who was beyond enraged.

His eyes only looked at him momentarily before darting away.

“You should have gotten here sooner. Someone took Aria man. They took my wife and I don’t even know where to look” Frank had uttered_breaking down completely in tears.

He had tried to hold on for too long that he didn’t know when the bottled up emotion snapped within him and was spilling out as tears.

He was crying so hard that he could barely listen to what his friend was saying at that point.

“What do you mean they took her. Who took Aria” Kelvin had asked a little louder and snapping Frank out of his crying mood as well.

“I don’t know okay? All I know is that someone got into her room dressed as a f*****g nurse and took her”

“What now?” His mouth agape with shock.

Kelvin who was starting to get the picture of what his friend was letting on was star struck. He couldn’t wrap his mind around the thought of someone doing something like that and especially to Aria.

Things like that happens only in movies and this was reality. Who could dare do something as despicable as that.

The only logical thought that made it out of his mouth was if he had notify the authority about the incident.

“Have you informed the police?”

“From her test result, it turns out the soda she had earlier and right under our noses was spiked with some drug__and the police have decided to start their investigation from there. They are already on their way to the bar to sort for information. Can you imagine how long that would take? I don’t know if she would be alive by then or not. I’m just f*****g loosing my mind here Kelvin because I don’t know what to think other than I need to go replace her myself. I need to replace my wife before something bad happens to her” he cried out feeling even more frustrated and anguished.

“I will help you look for her man but you need to calm down bro. Don’t be like this. You need to be strong for her. Nothing bad will happen to her or the baby. We will replace them both. Safe and sound” he assured him.

Frank wish with all his heart that he could believe every word his friend had just uttered. That everything would be fine. But he couldn’t_ not when her whereabout is still unknown.

If only he had stayed right there beside her bed and not move an inch from her. None of this would have happened.

He would have killed whoever the f**k that was before she even tried to touch her.

It breaks his heart to know that he was so close yet far away from her before it all happened.

“Why would someone want to hurt her. It doesn’t make much sense to me. Aria is one of the nicest human being that I know. Why would someone want to hurt her this much”

“No one can tell why someone could do this man. People are just f****d up these days that they go extreme to hurt others because of some shit that isn’t even relevant you know? Maybe someone would be low hating her without her knowledge you know?”

That must have struck a cord in Frank because he quickly looked back at his friend with a raised brow.

“How do you mean Kelvin?”

“I don’t know okay? I just feel like maybe she must have hurt someone without realizing it and the person might have held it against her but I could be wrong you know? No one really knows what could be going on at this point”

Frank seemed to be deep in thought at that moment. He seemed to be connecting the obvious dots and when he found the fine line between every single detail he got, he turned back to his friend.

“No no Kelvin. You could be right. It’s not about who she has offended but rather who couldn’t forgive her for choosing to love me”

“Come again? Because I don’t understand”

“I need you to drive Kelvin. Drive now!”

“Okay okay but to where? Where are we going?”

His eyes held his for a moment. Kelvin could see the fire burning in them and wondered what absurd idea he has come up with all of a sudden.

“To Aria old apartment” his voice low and deadly.

That was all Kelvin needed for him to finally hit the gas pedal and drive.

Kelvin couldn’t understand why his friend wanted him to drive to Aria’s apartment but he did without further questioning.

They arrived outside their building and began to make their way inside. Frank was leading the way while his friend, Kelvin was trailing from behind with hesitant steps.

“Where exactly are we going?”

“To get the bastard that took my wife”

“What?” Kelvin had exclaimed in shock. But it was too late to stop him as they had already stopped in front of a black iron door.

Frank only had to give two hard bangs on the door before they heard someone shuffling from inside in a bit to open the door.

“Bro, are you sure about this? What if you are wrong?”

“Then let replace out shall we?”

The door came apart revealing a not so please looking Henry who was shirtless__with just his pyjamas trouser on and looking so displaced before the two uninvited men staring back at him with questioning eyes.

“What’s going__” the last sentence didn’t make it out before it was knocked out of his mouth with a punch to the face. “That’s for paying someone to kidnap my wife you sick bastard”

Henry staggered all the way back from the unexpected hard impact against his face. His face was contrasting in pain when he finally looked up at Frank who seemed ready to hit him again.

“F**k man! What the f**k is wrong with you” Henry had exclaimed in panic holding out his hands in a defensive mood.

Frank who had adrenaline pumping through his whole being had him straddled against the nearest cushion while Kelvin stood on guard not sure if he should help the guy or smack him as well .

“Where is my wife. And where the hell are you keeping her” Frank snarled at him causing him to wince in pain.

“What?”

“I’m not going to ask again. Where is Aria and where have you kept her” his voice was low and threatening at this point.

“What the f**k are you talking about man. Isn’t she supposed to be with you and living in your house?”

“Wrong answer!”

Frank was about to hit him again before Kelvin got in between and pulled him away before he could regret his next action.

Still standing in between while Henry quickly got back on his feet. He realized it was better if he explain the situation at hand because the guy was obviously clueless even though Frank wasn’t buying any of it.

“What my friend is trying to say is this, Aria has been abducted not too long ago and we really need to replace her” Kelvin had explained.

“What? When did this happen?” Henry had asked still holding on to his probably fractured cheek but Frank wasn’t buying any of it because he was beyond convinced that he was the culprit and quickly launched himself at him again but was pulled back by Kelvin

“Don’t you f*****g act like you don’t know when its all happened because you were the one that paid someone to take her. You can stop your pretense now and tell me where she is”

“I don’t know what you are talking about okay? If I knew I would go save her myself. But I don’t. You should be going to the police for help not come here and attack me” he spat with irritation.

“You think I don’t know you have been trailing and sending her messages to meet up with you in secret?” Frank finally threw the accusation at him but to his almost surprise he didn’t deny it.

“Yes I have and she never replied to any of it and now I can understand why. You made sure she didn’t” he countered back.

“And I have every reason not to. Why can’t you just deal with the fact that she picked me and get over your feeling like a real man would. Instead you thought it wise to kidnap her right when you had the chance”

“You should really get your facts right before pointing accusing fingers on me. I didn’t take your girlfriend okay? Maybe if you search deeper, you might replace out who did”

“That’s enough now guys. You two sound like a bunch of women fighting over a guy” Kelvin had practically screamed at the both of them.

“You should tell that to your friend who came barging into my house to accuse me of such crime. I should really call the police and have you two arrested for assault and defamation of character” he threatened__meaning every single damn word to the letter.

“C’mon man. You and I know you would have done same if you were in his shoes. He is just desperate and you should understand that”

“Yes I do because I feel just the same. If Aria is in trouble then it calls for concern for me too”

Frank shot him a warning glare but said nothing. The fire burning within him was no longer there.

He was suddenly at a loss at that point. He could have swore that Henry was behind her disappearance. But now he wasn’t so sure.

He is even ashamed to think he even though he was behind it. The guy is also worried for her and now he is back to where he started.

Zero point with no clue.

If Henry didn’t pay someone to take her then who the f**k did!.

“We will really appreciate it if you can help us with anything that can lead to her whereabout” Kelvin had pleaded.

“Of course I will be glad to help”

“Okay then. We will be on our way now and sorry about your cheek”

“It’s nothing. I will be fine”

Frank didn’t even bother to take a second glance at the damage he had done to Henry’s face. He was too ashamed to look.

Kelvin offered him an apology on their behalf before following his friend out the hall way.

Frank couldn’t help but notice how his best friend was looking at him when they were finally behind the wheels outside the building.

“What? You have something to say to me just say it already and stop looking at me like that”

“You just harassed that guy for no reason and didn’t have the decency to apologise for it. Look I know it’s not easy to deal with what it’s going on but you just can’t go around accusing people like that without evidence or you will get us both arrested instead of replaceing her”

“I know but I had a hunch he could be behind it but I guess I was wrong and just couldn’t get myself to apologise for it “

“I get it but we have to do this right if we intend to replace her. Just don’t do it again please”

“Okay”
