Winning Back His Ex's Wife's Broken Heart -
Chapter 19
Sarah's
POV.
I threw myself into my work. Every day, from morning until late at night, I buried myself in meetings, planning, and strategy sessions.
It was easier to focus on the business than to think about Richard and Susan. The more I kept my mind occupied, the less time I had to dwell on them.
Wesley was always there. He always seemed to have some new idea or opportunity that could push my company forward.
We were a great team, and together, we made things happen.
"Sarah," Wesley said one afternoon, sitting across from me in my office, a stack of papers in his hands. "I've been looking into some new ventures. There's a lot of potential here for us to expand." I glanced up from my laptop. "Expand how?"
"Think of partnerships," he explained, laying out the documents in front of me. "We can collaborate with some big names. It would open up new markets and give us a real edge."
I scanned the papers. It all sounded promising. "This looks... ambitious."
Wesley smiled. "That's the point. You've got something special here. It's time to make the world see that."
I nodded. His enthusiasm was contagious. Plus, it felt good to have someone believe in me and my business so much.
It was like I had finally found my place, somewhere I belonged.
Days turned into weeks, and we started diving into the new ventures Wesley had proposed.
He was there every step of the way, guiding me through decisions and introducing me to the right people.
"You're doing amazing," Wesley said one evening after a particularly long meeting. "Richard has no idea what he lost."
I gave him a small smile, appreciating the support but avoiding the topic. "It's not about him," I replied. "This is about the company, about building something great."
"Exactly," Wesley agreed, his eyes sharp, almost calculating. "And we're going to build something unstoppable."
I threw myself even more into the work after that. If we were going to expand, we had to do it right.
I started spending more time at the office, reviewing every detail, every contract, every possible partnership. Wesley was always there, pushing me, and encouraging me.
He had a way of knowing exactly what the company needed, often before I did. And I trusted him.
Why wouldn't I? He had been nothing but supportive since the beginning.
Still, there were moments, late at night when I was alone in the office, when I wondered if I was overdoing it.
Was I just using the business to distract myself? Maybe. But if that was the case, so what?
It was working. The business was thriving, and I didn't have to think about Richard or Susan.
And as long as we kept moving forward, there was no room for looking back.
Weeks went by, and I threw myself into work like never before. My days were filled with meetings, calls, and brainstorming sessions.
Wesley had this way of making me believe that we were on the brink of something huge.
One afternoon, after a long meeting, Wesley walked into my office with two cups of coffee.
He placed one on my desk and leaned against the wall, looking relaxed.
"Thanks," I said, taking the cup. "Feels like I haven't had a break in ages."
He chuckled. "That's because you haven't. You're building an empire, Sarah. It doesn't come easy."
"An empire," I echoed, a bit of disbelief in my voice. "It still feels strange saying that."
"Well, it's happening," he replied confidently. "You're doing things that people are starting to notice. Big things."
I sighed and leaned back in my chair. "Sometimes it feels like it's all too much. Like it's happening too fast."
"That's how you know you're onto something great," Wesley said, his eyes fixed on mine. "If it doesn't scare you a little, then it's probably not worth it."
I stared into my coffee, letting his words sink in. "I guess... I just want this to work. I need this to work."
"And it will," Wesley assured me. "You've got the vision, the drive, and the right team. You're not alone in this, Sarah."
I looked up at him, grateful for his support. "You know, Wesley, sometimes I wonder why you're helping me so much. You could have built your own empire by now."
He shrugged, a small smile playing on his lips. "Maybe. But I believe in you. I see the potential in what you're doing, and I want to be part of it. Plus, let's face it, it's a lot more fun doing this with you." I couldn't help but smile. "Well, you certainly make it easier to keep pushing forward."
"That's the goal," he said, raising his coffee cup in a mock toast. "To the future."
I clinked my cup against his. "To the future."
Wesley leaned forward, a spark of excitement in his eyes. "Speaking of the future, I've been working on some ideas to expand our market reach."
He continued. "We're talking major growth, Sarah. The kind that gets everyone talking."
"Really?" I asked, intrigued. "What kind of growth?"
"Think of partnerships, new markets, innovations that put us at the forefront," he explained, his voice full of energy.
"I've been in talks with some key players who are very interested in what we're building here."
My heart raced with the possibilities. "That sounds incredible, Wesley. Do you think we're ready for it?"
"We're more than ready," he said confidently. "You've put in the work, laid the foundation. Now it's time to build on it."
I nodded slowly. His enthusiasm was contagious, and I couldn't deny that the thought of taking things to the next level excited me. "Alright," I said. "Let's go for it."
Wesley grinned. "That's what I like to hear. We'll go over the plans tomorrow, but trust me, this is going to put us on the map in a big way."
As he left the office, I felt a strange mix of determination and hope. I was building something that was becoming more than just a company.
It was becoming my whole world. With Wesley's help, I felt like I could take on anything.
The next few weeks were a whirlwind.
Wesley kept bringing new opportunities to the table-partnerships, collaborations, and ideas that seemed to push the company further into the spotlight.
My schedule was packed, and every day felt like a new challenge. Yet, with Wesley by my side, it didn't feel overwhelming. Instead, it felt like we were unstoppable.
One evening, we were in my office late, going over the final details of a new product launch.
Wesley had that familiar spark in his eye, the one that told me he had something big up his sleeve.
"Okay, spill it," I said, crossing my arms with a half-smile. "What's got you so excited this time?"
He grinned, pulling out a folder from his briefcase and sliding it across the desk toward me. "Take a look."
I opened it and found pages of market research, proposals, and strategic plans. "This... this is a complete strategy to expand into international markets," I said, flipping through the pages. "This is huge, Wesley."
"Exactly," he nodded, his voice steady but full of enthusiasm. "This is the next step. We've been building a strong foundation here, but it's time to think bigger. We're talking global."
I looked up at him, feeling both excitement and a hint of fear. "But going international... It's risky. What if we're not ready?"
Wesley leaned forward, his expression serious. "Sarah, you've already proven you can handle the competition here."
"But what if it doesn't work?" I asked, voicing the doubt that had been lingering in the back of my mind. "What if we stretch ourselves too thin?"
He reached across the desk and took my hand, giving it a firm squeeze. "It will work," he said firmly.
"You've got the vision, and you've got me backing you up every step of the way. We're not going into this blindly. We have a solid plan."
I stared at our hands for a moment, feeling the warmth and strength in his grip.
Wesley had been my rock through all of this, and his confidence in me was something I couldn't ignore. "Okay," I finally said, taking a deep breath. "Let's do it. Let's go global."
