"I'll do it."

Coralie said without hesitation.

At that moment, there was nothing else in her mind. She only wanted to be with Skylar. Perhaps, the scar had healed and the pain wasn't there anymore. As long as she was with Skylar, she wasn't fearful of the injection.

"What injection?"

Skylar looked at Coralie.

He vaguely sensed that the reason why Coralie became like that must have had something to do with that injection.

The first thing that came to Skylar's mind was like what Coralie had initially thought, that it was a drug.

"It is a wonderful injection," Yohan was disappointed at Coralie's choice. Although he looked composed while speaking, he fisted his hands so tightly that his veins were popping out.

He felt betrayed.

Yohan did not want to inject Coralie. However, she would rather take it so that she could get to spend a night with Skylar.

How could that not have made him furious?

"It's nothing. It's nothing. That's just to make me fall asleep."

However, Coralie trembled at the mention of the injection.

She was afraid of the injection, but she also yearned to hug Skylar and ask him how Hendric was doing.

Yohan did not speak too.

He already had a plan in his mind.

"Then, I'll leave first. Have an unforgettable night," Yohan could no longer stand the sight of Coralie hiding behind Skylar.

He got up and then left.

However, he wasn't in a hurry.

It was because he could slowly play with Coralie after that.

"Wait!" Skylar pushed Coralie toward Yohan and said, "Go with him. I'll take you away after three days."

He could tell from Coralie's reaction that it was a horrifying injection. It was so horrifying that Coralie would tremble at the thought of it.

How could he let Coralie suffer just to spend one night with her?

"No," Coralie tugged at Skylar's sleeves while vigorously shaking her head, "It's really not a big deal. Really."

She saw Yohan's expression just now; he was clenching his hands.

Based on Coralie's understanding of Yohan, even if she followed him back now, she might not have been able to escape the injection.

If that was the case, she would rather spend a night with Skylar.

Yohan noticed that Coralie's shoulder was trembling slightly. He knew that she had guessed his intentions. He left without saying a word. The door was closed with a bang.

Coralie fell to the ground.

She was relieved. It was because she was in a room with only Skylar, without Yohan's presence.

"I miss you so much."

Coralie stretched out her hand, wrapping her arms around Skylar's neck. She felt happy just staying close to Skylar.

"I'm sorry. I didn't manage to protect you."

Skylar bent down and held Coralie in his arms, walking toward his room.

"It's ok. I don't blame you." Coralie looked at Skylar and asked, "How is Hendric? Did the cord blood bank help?"

When Coralie was taken away by Yohan, that issue of the cord blood bank was not solved yet. Skylar came to S Country to take Coralie away because he had found a perfect cord match for Hendric.

"Yes. Don't worry. I've already found him the perfect match. He's being treated now. Harvey and Xenia will keep him company every day. I'll bring you to see him when we get back." Skylar updated Coralie about the cord blood.

He held Coralie. She was skinny and her collarbone was prominent. It was obvious that she had lost a lot of weight.

"That's good."

Coralie felt relieved after knowing that Hendric had found the matching cord blood.

She was in Skylar's embrace.

They arrived at the room that Yohan had prepared for Skylar.

"Tell me the truth. What kind of injection is it?"

Although Skylar managed to bring Coralie back to his side, he still blamed himself. What kind of injection was it?

What kind of injection would cause Coralie so much fear?

"It's really just an injection to make me sleep." Coralie brushed it off with a smile, as if it did not matter, "If it's a horrible needle, why would I spend the night with you, right?"

As she spoke, she raised Skylar's face and kissed him softly.

She was acting mischievous and lively, as though she wasn't shocked by the injection at all.

What Skylar didn't notice was that while Coralie was acting happily, she kept clenching her hands. She told herself not to tremble and not to retreat; she could not let Skylar notice her fear.

However, Skylar wasn't dumb. He knew that Coralie wouldn't tell him even if he continued asking, so he changed the topic. He put Coralie on the bed, squatted down, and looked at her leg-cuffs. He asked, "When did he put this on you?"

"After we came here."

Coralie lied.

"After coming here?"

"Yes, we were in other places. We just got here today. Maybe he was afraid that I might escape."

Although Coralie spoke as if it was nothing, there were still wounds on her legs from the last time she was injected. It was now scarred and she had thoroughly applied foundation on it to cover it. However, the wounds were still visible.

The scars on her wrists and ankles were sufficient to indicate that she had struggled desperately for something.

Skylar held her legs and kissed the wounds on her ankle. He frowned and said, "Stop acting tough. Tell me, what had he done to you all this while?"

"No, really. He is treating me very well actually."

Coralie shook her head.

In fact, Yohan really didn't do anything to her. Besides the injection, there was nothing.

"Very well?"

"Yes, we lived in a house in another city. We went fishing, had fun, and he cooked for me. Really well."

Coralie smiled as if she had not been wronged at all.

"Knock knock."

After Coralie finished speaking, a servant knocked on the door. After opening the door, the servant handed her a wireless headset and told her, "Young Master asked you to wear it, Miss Chariott. If he wants to talk to you, he will speak via this, Miss Chariott."

"Alright."

Coralie took it without resisting.

However, the servant didn't leave, she stood at the door and said to Coralie, "Miss Chariott, Young Master wants you to wear this."

"Oh."

Coralie was helpless. She could only put on the wireless headset.

The servant made sure that she had it on before leaving.

At the moment the door was closed, she started hearing voices from the headset. The volume was very low, Coralie listened to it carefully, but she couldn't hear anything. However, just when she tried to listen to it harder, the voice suddenly became very loud...

"Please help me..."

"Please, kill me..."

The headset kept replaying her sound of begging that night, her voice was trembling. It was almost as if what she went through that night was going to be replayed again.

"Ah! No!"

When Coralie recognized the voices, she broke down within seconds.

She immediately tossed the earphones on the ground, stomping on it.

After that, she ran towards the bathroom...

Skylar picked up the earphones and put it on, but there was nothing.

He walked into the bathroom, Coralie kneeled at the corner of the bathroom, trembling uncontrollably, "No, no, no."

Coralie just kept trembling while repeating no.

"Coralie."

Skylar had no idea what Coralie had heard. Why did she have such a huge reaction?

He wanted to hug Coralie from behind to make her feel secured. However, as soon as Skylar touched Coralie, she curled up even more, as if she was trying to roll herself up into a ball.

"Kill me, kill me."

Coralie curled up into a ball, as if she was possessed. The recordings had evoked her fear from that night and she did not know what was going on anymore.

When Skylar forcefully turned her toward him, Coralie's tears kept flowing down. She put her hands on her head, trembling.

He hugged Coralie with great sorrow, comforting her, "Don't be afraid. I'm here."

"No, please don't give me injections anymore. I'm begging you."

"Ok, no injection."

Skylar answered Coralie. She was trembling in his arms, begging him.

He could only comfort her.

His heart ached so much.

He didn't know what kind of injection would terrify Coralie so much.

"Really?"

Coralie had no idea who she was looking at. Her eyes lit up when she heard there would be no injections.
