You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie) -
Chapter 292
"Hello?" Coralie picked up the phone and answered the call.
"Hiya, Miss Chariott, do you still remember me?"
She thought it was from Skylar, but there was a strange voice with a hint of familiarity on the other side of the phone.
"Who is this?" Coralie asked.
"I'm so sad that you have forgotten me. It's me, Franklin!"
He introduced himself.
Only then did Coralie think about Franklin Moore...
Franklin did help her back then, but she seldom met him. He always had a different woman around him every time she saw him.
"Ah, it's you. What's the matter?" She said.
Coralie's mobile phone number remained the same as before.
Thus, she didn't feel strange that Franklin knew her number.
But it was strange for him to contact her.
"Oh, I just want to ask you if your clothes fit? Is the food good?" He asked.
"You were the one who sent it to me?" Coralie was surprised.
"Of course! Yesterday I booked a room here with a babe, and I happened to see you going into a room with your clothes all soaked. I knew it definitely wouldn't dry up this morning, so I kindly asked someone to buy you some clothes. How is it? Did that move you?"
Franklin was blabbering by himself.
However, Coralie felt so awkward at this moment. There were undergarments in the bag that was sent to her. Such a personal thing was given to her by a person who could barely be regarded as her ordinary friend...
"Were you the one who sent it to me?" She repeated.
"Yeah, what do you think? Who else will think of you except me?" He replied casually.
Although Franklin had said so, Coralie still refused to believe it.
"It can't be you. The size of the clothes..."
Coralie wanted to say that the size of the undergarments was completely correct. If Franklin bought it casually, how could it be so well-tailored?
"I'm not going to lie to you. I have a special ability. I can guess the measurement of any woman at a glance. From your response, it seems that I hit the jackpot again."
"Thank you," Coralie could only say this.
She really couldn't believe it.
Since Franklin had admitted it, she could no longer ask if these things were sent by Skylar. It would come off as a strange question.
"Don't mention it. This is my number. I assume you didn't have it. Save it now and remember to come to me if you need anything." Franklin originally wanted to hang up the phone after saying it, but in the end, he deliberately added, "By the way, I'm single."
After that, the call was disconnected.
At first, she was bubbling with expectation at the bags of clothes, but at this time, her hope had completely vanished.
However, she still felt that it was odd for Franklin to send her these clothes. She would rather believe that it was Skylar who sent it to her.
On the other side of the phone was Franklin in his home. After he hung up the phone, he picked up another phone that was on handsfree mode. It was connected all this time.
He picked up the phone and said, "Uncle, I've done it. You have to give me the order you promised!"
From the other side of the call came Skylar's displeased voice. He gritted word by word, "I'll give you the order, but only half."
"Why? I asked someone to buy and send her those clothes early in the morning, but you only gave me half?"
Franklin was furious!
"Thanks to the last sentence from your phone call," Skylar spoke coldly.
"Last sentence? What do you mean?"
Franklin asked. He thought about it carefully and finally remembered what he had said. It was, "By the way, I'm single."
"Uncle, you tricked me! Didn't you say that you have nothing to do with her already? I only said it because of that," Franklin explained. He was still mad, but he thought he couldn't put his profit at stake, so he went on to say, "Okay, I was wrong. I won't say it in the future, really!"
"No, the words were already out."
Skylar said with certainty.
On the other hand, Franklin was unhappy with it. He told Skylar, "Uncle, can you give me a clear explanation? What is your current relationship with Coralie? You asked me to send her clothes. Can anyone do it if they don't like her? It's reasonable for me to say so."
Franklin was quite amazed when he saw Coralie in the silver dress a few years ago.
That stunning impression of her lasted for a while in his mind.
However, after Coralie's staged death, his good impression towards Coralie ended a few years ago. Every time he thought about her, he only felt that she was a beautiful, nice woman. That was all. The reason why he said so was to make Coralie believe that it was him who sent her those clothes.
"This is mine and her business. I only asked you to send her clothes today. If you have nothing important in the future, don't contact her," Skylar said.
He didn't mention his relationship with Coralie.
"Fine, I won't contact her. However, you can't cut the order."
Franklin was an amateur at business and that order from Skylar was already enough to support his company for half a year.
"Deal, but if I replace out that you're doing something you shouldn't, I'll tear down your company immediately. You'll have no penny to screw around with girls then."
Skylar warned Franklin.
In fact, Skylar had already known that Franklin and Coralie had booked the same hotel before. However, with his current situation, he had no other suitable prospect to look for except Franklin. Franklin's weakness was pretty obvious. He had no ambitious goals in business and was content as long as he had money to hook up with girls.
"Okay, okay, no problem."
Franklin had also figured it out. Coralie was the same age as him this year. No matter how beautiful she was, it wouldn't compare to a girl in her early twenties. With money, what kind of woman couldn't he have?
"Ok, I'll ask Jayson to contact you on Monday," Skylar said.
"Alright, but Uncle, if you like her, you should go after her. Women in their thirties are very popular now. They're more experienced in life and know themselves well. They are not as clingy as a young girl in her early twenties, but also won't be as unromantic as those old ladies. The way they behave in bed..."
"Beep, beep, beep..."
Before Franklin could finish his words, Skylar hung up the phone in a heartbeat.
On the other side of the phone, Franklin shrugged and complained, "Snob." Then he discreetly saved Coralie's phone number.
Coralie packed up her clothes and went home.
When she was back home, Hendric was already awake. He rushed over and hugged her. "Mom, where have you been?"
Hera also came over and hurriedly asked, "Coralie, where did you go? I couldn't get in touch with you yesterday. We were so worried! I thought you were in danger."
Hera was terrified because of the past incident with Yohan and the lot.
"I'm fine mom. It was just the freezing rain yesterday. There were no taxis on the road and I couldn't replace one, so I found a hotel to rest first." Coralie did not want to worry Hera, so she squeezed a smile at her.
She didn't dare to say that she had a fever, so she silently went to the medicine kit for a few paracetamols and swallowed them down with water.
"Coralie, tomorrow is your father's death anniversary. It's been ten years now, I want to take Hendric to see him and introduce him as his grandson." Hera walked over to Hendric, raised her hand and caressed Hendric's head as she said it.
