Franklin ignited the car engine again and asked, "Where are you staying now?"

"I'm staying in..."

Seeing Franklin did not reply to her, Lucille knew that she was talking to the wall. However, she could only suppress her sense of loss and sadness. She then told him Abby's address. Franklin turned on the GPS in his cell phone and drove toward the destination.

No one spoke throughout the journey. It was extremely quiet.

Lucille did not dare to look at Franklin's face from the side view. She could only turn to look at the scenery outside the window.

It was early winter and it began to snow.

"It's snowing."

"Yeah."

It was just a short conversation. The atmosphere inside the car became awkward again.

As the car drove all the way, Lucille sat beside him quietly. Although she had been praying that the journey would take a longer time, the traffic was surprisingly smooth.

Even when they arrived at the intersection, the traffic lights were green all the way.

It only took them a couple of minutes to arrive at the residential area, soon in front of Abby's house.

"Thank you."

Lucille thanked Franklin and was ready to get off the car, then he said to her warmly, "Come and look for me after your delivery."

Lucille, who had almost given up on the marriage, suddenly sensed a glimmer of hope.

"You mean..."

She turned around, looking surprised.

However, Franklin did not change his expression. He didn't feel that he had said anything extraordinary.

But for Lucille, it was the best motivation for her!

"Without me, you can't do the DNA test, can you?"

Franklin spoke flatly.

Only then did Lucille realize and understood what he meant. She nodded excitedly, "Yes, thank you."

All of a sudden, tears streamed down from her eyes.

It was what he supposed to do, but she was so happy.

Franklin frowned slightly when he saw that she was crying, "Hurry up. I have something else to do."

"Oh, I'm sorry!"

Lucille said as she quickly took the bag and got off the car.

Abby asked as soon as she stepped into the house, "How was it? Did Franklin go over?"

"You sent him the email, didn't you? Thank you!" Lucille stepped forward to hug Abby tightly. Her tears were rubbed off on Abby's face.

"What's wrong? I thought he was the one who caused all of it. He should clean up the mess."

Seeing Lucille was crying, Abby thought that she was being bullied again.

"He just sent me back. He asked me to look for him after my delivery!"

Lucille quickly told Abby what had happened in the car a moment ago.

"That's great." Abby sat cross-legged in front of the computer and continued to fiddle with her software.

However, she still looked a little upset.

Abby had always felt that Franklin was not a good person. If he dumped Lucille, it would be great too. However, he did not make a clear statement, which might implicate Lucille's future. However, since Lucille was happy, she could not say anything.

Because of Franklin's presence, no one at the bar dared to cover up the matter. They all told the truth.

When the police went to arrest Yvonne, they found that she had ran away.

Lucille took good care of herself. Her belly was getting bigger day by day. Compared with her flat belly before, she gradually looked like a pregnant lady.

As her belly was getting bigger, Marvin changed his attitude as well.

He was getting older and he could finally have a grandchild. Therefore, he often called to Lucille to check on her.

When Lucille was pregnant for four months, Marvin often invited her to have dinner together at his home.

Although Marie was at Franklin's house before, she did not cook any shellfish dishes.

Lucille had just sat down when Natasha said, "Lucille, dad is being unfair this time. He told Marie not to cook any shellfish. I just requested Marie to make me some tuna specifically, but she did not want to cook any for me."

Although Natasha was complaining but she had a smile on her face. It really looked like they were just sibling teasing each other.

"Thank you, dad." Lucille was not bothered and thanked Marvin.

"It's okay." Marvin's body had recovered in recent days, thus he sounded vital when he said, "You are now pregnant with the Jules family's child, therefore you should take good care of yourself. You can stay here if you need someone to take care of you. I will hire two servants to serve you and cook whatever you wish."

He mentioned that it was the child of Jules' family, which clearly showed his intention.

No matter who the child belonged to, he would still consider the child to be part of the Jules family, eventually.

Natasha also understood what he meant. The smile on her face disappeared as she grasped the fork tighter. She bit her lips and uttered, "Dad, you really do love Lucille more."

"I will treat you the same way if you are pregnant!" Marvin retorted instantly.

Alma who was sitting by his side, smoldered in anger. However, Marvin was the head of the family and he had shown his stand. Hence, Alma did not dare to be arrogant at that moment.

When it came to pregnancy, Alma seized the opportunity to speak with a wry smile, "Natasha will not be like those unscrupulous girl who cheated in the marriage and get dumped by the husband in the end. Natasha's husband will treat her well. We don't have to worry about her."

Obviously, she was mocking Lucille. Her words hurt, as though it was stabbing into Lucille's heart.

Lucille was furious, but she didn't speak her mind. She could only wait for her labor.

"Mom, how can you say this? Lucille could have been drugged and out of unconsciousness... Lucille is definitely not that kind of person," Natasha said.

Her face looked innocent. She pretended to stand up for Lucille, which in fact, she was insulting her. She was trying to accuse her of having an affair.

"Being drugged? Perhaps she's just a flirt and has been pretending all this while." Alma snorted coldly.

"Enough!" When Marvin heard that Alma had gone too far, he was displeased. "Whatever it is, Lucille is pregnant now. What's the most important is her emotion. Do not mention about who the father is, the child will be part of our Jules family anyway!"

"Dad..."

Lucille saw Marvin standing up for her and was very grateful.

In the past, she always thought that Marvin had changed after marrying Alma, but it seemed that he was still her good father.

Alma and Natasha both shut up eventually.

When she was about to leave, Marvin packed all the things he had prepared and asked the driver to place them into the car.

Marvin then took out a bank card and shoved it into Lucille's hands, "Lucille, I have treated you badly all these years. Now that you are pregnant, you will need more supplements for the child and you. Be kind to yourself."

After that, he put the card into Lucille's bag, so that she could not refuse.

"Thank you." Lucille was moved.

Natasha saw that when she was observing by the side. With a grim smile on her face, she took out a box of butter cookies from the room. "Lucille, I bought these from abroad a few days ago. It's delicious. It's specially for you."

"No thanks, I don't have a good appetite nowadays." Lucille had known Natasha very well. How could it be possible for Natasha to give her something good?

Alma didn't know what Natasha was going to do, thus she said unhappily, "Well, it's better to feed the dog than give it to her."

As she spoke, she grabbed the cookie box and opened it. There was a layer of butter cookies and it only looked good on the surface.
