You Hit My Heart -
Chapter 140
"What? Had a fight with Joyce?" Mathew asked tentatively when hesaw Luther's face.
Luther leaned back, biting his cigarette between his lips, withoutspeaking.
Felix teased, "I feel you quite like Joyce. Just listen to me, Luther. Youare just too arrogant, and you should learn to say some nice words."Luther annoyedly put out his cigarette, "You feel it wrong, and I don'tlike her." After saying that, he mentally added that she was refreshinghis perception of her at any moment.
The thought that she had contacted Christian and lied to him put him inan unbearable mood.
"How can I possibly feel it wrong? If you don't like her, what are youdoing giving her the gun?" Felix groggily shouted, "You took the onlylimited edition of the very best from my family's gun collection. Are yougiving it back to me now?"
Luther grimaced as he turned his head, "Would you like a woman whoapproached you with a purpose?"
"Yes, every woman approaching me has a purpose. I will try to meettheir purposes. We are men and we must not count every bit.Sometimes, we just need to make a little sacrifice.” Felix saidshamelessly, "Who can say what's right and what's wrong in arelationship?”
"Fuck off.” Luther just knew that asking these losers wouldn't get himanywhere.
Mathew didn't interrupt before and said at this point, “I heard that youare going to marry Charlotte later. I have always wanted to know. Areyou really just having a temporary, fake marriage?"
Luther's hand was pouring the champagne and he nearly spilled it allover.
He picked up the champagne and drank it down in one go.
"Hmm." He replied in annoyance, unaware that he'd had a few moredrinks.
"As a brother, I still want to advise you to think twice, and cherish theperson in front of you," Mathew said with a solemn expression.
"Huh." Luther drank several more glasses in a row and was alreadyslightly drunk, "You've all been bought off by her? She's reallysomething!"
“You've had too much to drink, stop drinking.” Felix stepped forward tosnatch the glass from Luther's hand. And he winked at Mathew, "Youtake him home."
"Good." Mathew picked Luther up hard and carried him away fromImperiana.
The other side.
R&S Group headquarters.
When the clock was about to point to nine o'clock, Joyce finally finishedthe final work of the design.
She double-checked the computer again to make sure it was all savedintact.
Then she stood up and began to pack up her things. In the large office, she was the only one working overtime.
Picking up her bag, she walked to the door and casually turned off thelight.
She pressed the elevator button.
Just as the elevator door opened, Joyce suddenly saw a dark shadowflashing across the stairwell out of the corner of her eye.
She was startled, and suspicious, and just in case, she reached herhand secretly into her handbag, which contained the pistol Luther hadgiven her. She approached the stairwell step by step, listening carefullyto the movement before opening the emergency door of the stairwell.Inside, it was empty and there was no one there.
She was relieved. Was she just being paranoid?
However, Joyce always felt strange in her heart.
She simply inspected the entire building, and finally, she still feltuneasy, and then went back to their desks, opened the computer, anddid something.
After finishing up, she turned off the computer once again, turned offthe lights, took the elevator, and left the group headquarters.
When Joyce left, the dark shadow that had been waiting in the cornerof the utility room flashed out.
It sneaked up on Joyce's desk.
Open Joyce's drawer and put in a stack of stuff.
Then, it opened Joyce's computer again...
