After a moment of tenderness, Vicki sat up straight from the bed as shedressed. Suddenly, Felix held her wrist.

Evidently, his disheveled breath had not yet calmed. Earlier, they hadonly hastily finished, far from complete satisfaction in body and mind.His arm wrapped around her waist, embracing her.

"Just stay a little longer,” he pleaded.

Vicki put on the specially made metal wristwatch from the bedside whileglancing at the time.

“No, I can't. It's time for me to leave.”

Felix's eyes dimmed. They hadn't used protection earlier, indicating thatshe truly intended to have a child with him. When he entered, he evennoticed a bottle of folic acid on the table. He had heard that womenplanning to conceive took it.

He couldn't understand why, if that were the case, she still treated himwith indifference. He couldn't bear her coldness and could only see aglimpse of her passion and confusion when they were intimate, makinghim believe that she was a woman with warmth.

He held her tightly and asked as he faced her back, “Is it because ofoGwW?"

Vicki's gaze changed. "Even if you know, it's none of your business."She was about to stand up.

Felix furrowed his brow. "OGW's people? Vicki, I've never asked aboutyour past. I respect you and have always wanted you to tell me on yourown. But for four years, you haven't said anything. Do you really careabout me?"

He forcefully turned Vicki's sharp chin towards him, and his thin lipsharshly met her cold ones. He angrily nibbled at the corner of her lip.“Do you consider me your man?" His discontented words burst out fromhis teeth.

"Could it be that you only see me as someone to fulfill your physicalneeds?" Flames ignited in his eyes. He had considered this possibilitymore than once because she was so cold-blooded that he couldn'tsense even a hint of love from her.

Vicki narrowed her eyes.

It was a childish question, and she couldn't be bothered to answer."Vicki, do you love me or not?" Felix questioned. He had asked hermany times, but never received an answer.

Vicki stared back at him with her icy gaze, her expression showingimpatience.

"Don't ask such childish questions. I won't answer.”

Felix's chest heaved with anger. It was always the same every time.The conversation took a turn, and he spoke coldly.

“Do you think I can't protect you?"

"Or do you think I'm incapable of giving you what you want?"

"Or do you think I'm indifferent and will drag you down? In your heart,am I such a useless person?”

Felix grew angrier as he spoke.

He wanted to squeeze her throat tightly and fiercely interrogate her.

“I don't think that way." Vicki's expression remained as cold as aneternal glacier, unmoving.

"Heh," Felix sneered, forcing her to look into his eyes. "If you don't thinkthat way, then what do you mean? You don't tell me anything, you doeverything on your own. Have you ever asked me?"

“I can gather all the forces of the original factions for you. You shouldknow that the Saunders family can reach anywhere in Pascaylia. Trustme. If you encounter any difficulties, tell me. I'll help you."

He said it with utmost seriousness.

Vicki's dense eyelashes trembled slightly.

Then, her eyebrows furrowed. "Don't interfere. The Saunders familyhas been out of the picture for decades. Since we've been cleansed,don't stain us again."

She held his wrist, which tightly gripped her chin, and slowly moved itaway.

For the first time, she explained to him.

"I have some personal grudges with OGW. I don“twant to involveunrelated people.”

Felix felt a slight tremor in his heart. She actually spoke up, finallyexplaining the reason, albeit vaguely. It was still a significant stepforward.

“It's okay, I don't mind getting involved."

His gaze turned sharp. "You should know Athena, right?"

Vicki raised her eyes. Why did he mention Athena? Yes, when she firstarrived in DeNox four years ago, she did try to gather information. TheBallard family, the Saunders family, and the Warner family were oldacquaintances. Christian, Luther, and Felix were also good friends.What caused Christian to turn against them, becoming enemies? Andwhat was the truth and evidence that Christian had always wanted herto replace?

In those four years, she hadn't found any clues.

It seemed that Felix had completely severed ties with Christian. Shedidn't know where to start.

She only fell into a coma.She was unconscious for nearly ten years and has now awakened.”Vicki's expression showed a hint of danger, but she remained silent."From your expression, you also know, right? You wanted to hide it justnow?" Felix exposed her.

"So you know everything? OGW's appearance, Athena's awakening. Isthere anything else I don't know?"

Vicki suddenly pushed Felix away with force.

In a cold voice, she said, "Stop asking. Don't get involved.”

She adjusted her disheveled clothes and swiftly walked towards thedoor.

Felix suddenly stood up and faced her straight back. "It's too late. I'malready involved. Luther is also involved. Before coming here, I went toMr. Ball and made it clear. When it comes to OGW, the Saunders familywill never stand idly by."

He walked up behind her.

With determined meaning, he solemnly promised, “No matter what yourpast is, no matter what difficulties you face now, this time, I will protectyou! I won't let you suffer any harm. Whatever you want, I'll give it toyou."

From behind, he slipped a miniature GPS tracker into her palm.

“Let me know your whereabouts. Let me protect you. Vicki, I can't bewithout you. I love you."

Vicki's shoulders trembled fiercely.

Although her heart was shaken, she ultimately didn't say anything.Resolutely, she opened the door and quickly left.
