Chapter 1744: You Actually Took the Bullet forHim
Felix stumbled back a few steps as the bullet grazed past him frombehind, barely missing him.
But!
He was startled, cold sweat drenching his body. Vicki was behind him!He quickly turned around, both shocked and fearful. Sure enough, Vickiwas standing not far behind him.
Vicki was dressed in a black leather jacket, with tight black pants below, accentuating her perfectly proportioned figure. At this moment, she hadone arm crossed over her chest, holding a gun in her right hand, pointing directly at Cloud. She stood firm, seemingly without anyabnormalities at first glance.
Upon closer inspection, she seemed to be gritting her teeth, with beadsof sweat forming on her forehead.
Felix hurriedly ran towards Vicki, concerned, and asked, "Are youokay? I heard two gunshots just now, and I only heard one hitting theground. Did the other one hit you?"
Vicki frowned, ignoring Felix's words, and instead, stared directly atCloud.
She coldly said, "I've said it before, the incident with the Saundersfamily has nothing to do with Felix. If you want revenge, don't mistakethe person!”
Cloud raised his hand, signaling his subordinates around him to stopattacking.
The surrounding subordinates reluctantly put down their guns. Vickiappeared and pointed her gun at Cloud. They couldn't afford to provokeher; everyone knew her skills in combat.
Vicki turned her head slightly and caught a glimpse of a trace of bloodon Felix's lips. She frowned and reached out, gently wiping away thebloodstain from his lips. She asked, "Are you hurt? Does it hurt?"
Felix shook his head. It was just a minor injury. How could he feel pain?He wasn't delicate or fragile. He was a man. But her concern warmedhis heart. She still cared about him after all.
Felix reached out his arm, wanting to embrace Vicki in his arms.Besides declaring his sovereignty, he missed her too much. After notseeing her for so many days, he was almost going crazy. Regardless ofthe dangerous environment around them and whoever might bewatching, he just wanted to feel her real presence.
However, his pulling motion caused Vicki to let out a low cryinvoluntarily.
Immediately, Vicki furrowed her brows, bit her lower lip, and beads ofsweat the size of soybeans rolled down.
Felix's heart sank, and as he looked at her, he noticed that hercomplexion had changed, turning pale with a hint of blue.
Vicki was someone with an extremely high pain tolerance, but now shecouldn't bear it any longer. As Felix hugged her, she weakened in hisarms, relying on him to alleviate her pain.
Felix held Vicki tightly, supporting her. He felt that something waswrong with her, and upon careful inspection, he noticed a tear in thesleeve of her left arm. It was difficult to discern because of the blackleather jacket, but now, up close, he clearly saw the thick, sticky bloodblending with the black color, making it hard to distinguish.
"You've been shot!" Felix exclaimed in shock, followed by a feeling ofheartache and anger. "Damn it, you're bleeding! You got shot yourself, and you still asked me if I'm in pain?!"
She had indeed been shot. She had pushed him from behind earlier, and she ended up getting shot herself. How much pain must she bein?! She didn't even let out a groan. He felt like he was going crazy withheartache. He quickly supported her injured arm and held her tightly. She had been shot, and yet she asked him if he was in pain?! Hisminor injury couldn't be compared to her being shot.
He felt as if his heart was breaking.
Cloud glanced at Felix, then at Vicki.
He was instantly filled with rage. "Vicki, you actually took the bullet forhim?!"
Cloud couldn't believe it. Vicki had actually shielded Felix from thebullet? He didn't say the second half of his sentence; she had trulyfallen in love with Felix because human instincts don't lie. At a criticalmoment, when faced with life and death, she disregarded her ownsafety and chose to save him. This must be true love.
He felt a tremendous blow, taking several steps back.
Shaking his head and roaring, he shouted, "Vicki! Have you gonemad?! Who is he? Is he a Saunders? Haven't you suffered enoughbecause of Seren Saunders in the past? Have you forgotteneverything? Such deep-seated hatred! How can you be with Felix? He'sjust a playboy, toying with women. Are you being fair to yourself?"Cloud was furious, his long hair fluttering in the wind, exuding a hellishaura.
"Vicki, today Iwill definitely kill him. I have my people all around. Youcan't save him. Get out of the way, don't stop me!"
He roared, his voice echoing through the entire pier, causing the leavesto tremble.
Vicki's gaze turned icy cold. Despite the intense pain, her voicetrembled but was sharp, "If you want him dead, I will take your life too!"She raised her gun without hesitation, and with a bang, the bulletwhizzed past Cloud's ear and shot into a nearby container.
Cloud stood in the wind, motionless, unable to believe that Vicki, hislifelong companion, had actually fired a shot at him. Although it didn't hithis body, it shattered his heart completely.
Vicki coldly said, "Rayan! Tell your men to back off. This is just awarning!"
After speaking, Vicki was overwhelmed by even more intense pain. Shefell into Felix's arms, but she refused to let go of the gun in her hand.Felix watched as blood streamed from her arm, panicking, "No, weneed to stop the bleeding quickly and go to the hospital!"
Just then...
Suddenly, the roar of off-road vehicles filled the surroundings. Dozensof black off-road vehicles raced towards them.
Felix turned around and saw the totem symbols of wings on each of thevehicles. He was overjoyed, "Great, my people have arrived."Immediately, he lifted Vicki horizontally, ignoring Cloud's furious andenvious gaze. Now he only cared about Vicki's condition, nothing elsemattered.
Cloud saw that the largest faction of Khebury had arrived. Hismanpower was clearly not enough. Mr. Ball was a figure who operatedin the dark. His influence permeated all the ports, black markets, anddocks. Mr. Ball's men were spread throughout Khebury, and with acommand, they could gather tens of thousands of people in a shorttime. Most importantly, Mr. Ball had a personal feud with the formerleader of OGW. The two factions were incompatible. There was noneed to confront each other head-on today. He never expected that theSaunders family, who had faded away for so many years, stillpossessed their past influence. What he didn't expect even more wasthat Mr. Ball would actually listen to Felix's orders. It seemed that hehad underestimated Felix.
Cloud made a gesture of retreat.
Then he said, "Vicki, next time, he won't escape so easily. Just youwait."
After speaking, he disappeared in an instant, retreating together withhis men.
