You Hit My Heart -
Chapter 308
"No way," Ricky said without hesitation.
“It's true." Charlotte gritted her teeth, "Maybe a god saved her! She's solucky!"
"How is that possible?!" Ricky still didn't want to believe it, "That'shighly unlikely, unless..."
"Unless what?" Charlotte narrowed her eyes slightly and looked up."As far as I know, there's no way Luther can defuse a bomb. I'vechecked his resume in detail. Unless Joyce knows how to defuse abomb herself and won the bet, do you think that's possible? Because Ican't replace out anything about Joyce's past.” Ricky said.
Speaking of defusing bombs, Ricky thought of Joyce's superbmarksmanship. All the people she hit were right in the knees, withoutmissing a shot. In the midst of the chaos, she was able to hit themoving target with such precision - she was undoubtedly amarkswoman.
“I don't know. how is it possible that Joyce can do everything?"Charlotte shook her head repeatedly, and suddenly she paused, as ifshe finally remembered something, "I remember when I was a kid,Joyce left the orphanage, and it seemed she was sent to shootingtraining for a competition.”
"No wonder. She is indeed a marksman and carries a pistol with her,and many of my men have been wounded by her." Ricky said sternly, and seeing the worries in Charlotte's eyes, he hastened to add, "Don'tworry, all those who know are silenced by me. There will never be anyhalf leaks."
"Hmm." Charlotte sighed in relief and nodded gently.
"Could it be true that Joyce can defuse a bomb herself? She is involvedin automotive projects and has always been quite good at circuit wiringand such. Oh, I really underestimated her. How much more is shecapable of that I don't know about?" She muttered to herself, her handclutching the phone tightly, forcing herself to resist the urge to smash it.There were other people in the Heath residence today, and she mustrestrain herself from acting out.
“I'm sorry, Miss. I didn't complete my assignment. I'm going to askaround and replace out what happened.” Ricky blackened his face. Theresult of this matter not only disappointed Charlotte, but even hehimself felt slapped in the face.
He used to be a mercenary and an assassin, as a veteran, but he fell inthe hands of a young girl who was just starting out. It was a greatshame.
And this time he lost so much that he could do nothing but the identitythat he commonly used on the darknet.
With his vengeful character, he would not easily let Joyce go, he mustget her killed, if not just to ease his anger.
“Don't do anything rash these days. Get out of my room before you staytoo long and get caught by mom."
Charlotte took a deep breath and finally held back her anger.
"Good." Ricky retired sensibly.
Charlotte looked at Ricky's back with resentment, and the cold light inher eyes seemed to be just as sharp as a needle. She would be lying tosay that she was not disappointed, she committed herself to him and lethim sleep with her for nothing so many times. And he basically gotnothing done so far.
But, for now, she could not leave him.
There were still too many things she needed Ricky to do behind thescenes.
She stood up and took a stack of papers from the drawer. She torethem first into strips and then into smaller square pieces, as a way ofdraining her grievances.
Soon, the waste basket was full to the brim.
She kept tearing the papers. She just pretended that those were justJoyce as they were torn into pieces by her hands.
Her mind grew numb and she was just doing it mechanically.
She did not even notice Cecelia when she walked in.
