You Hit My Heart -
Chapter 401
She laughed, "I don't think so! You are so lively and energetic. You willbe a perfect match! Karl's so dull and he would need you!"
"Hmm. I think so. Ha-ha." Juanita laughed heartlessly, "Don't worry, I'llchase him down!"
“You will, right?!" Joyce patted Juanita, "I'll go back to work first, I haveto catch up with the design in the next two days."
"Hmm. You get busy, I'll get you coffee, cappuccino or mocha?"
“It's all good. Thanks." Joyce smiled back.
Second Precinct.
Karl was sitting in front of his desk, looking through the documents, when his phone suddenly gave a "ding."
He opened his phone, and it was a message from Juanita.
"Why don't you treat me to dinner tonight, the seafood pot last time wasdelicious and I am missing it already."
When he saw the text message, he could almost imagine the tone ofJuanita's petulant playfulness. He gave a low laugh unconsciously. Thiswas the first time he had ever met such a girl, both difficult andinteresting.
Sergeant Allen happened to have something to report, and he walkedup to Karl and saw that Karl was actually smiling.
He hurriedly stretched his neck and curiously pushed over to take alook at the message.
"Captain, I actually saw you smile. I've never seen you smile before. What's so good, let me see it too?"
Karl jerked back to his senses and subconsciously raised his hand totouch the corner of his lips.
Did he just smile? How was it possible? Could it be that he waslaughing unconsciously?
He hurriedly closed the phone and said with a straight face, "Get downto your own business!"
"Captain, I have arranged a few of my men near the train station, andThomas, the man you've asked me to keep an eye on lately, wasspotted near the station yesterday." Sergeant Allen said.
"What!" Karl's eyes flinched and he jerked to his feet, "Thomas is backin Khebury? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"They just told me that too. And I report it immediately.” Sergeant Allenscratched his head, "Captain, this person has not committed any crime, and it is not a major case, why do we need to waste so much effort tokeep an eye on him?"
"Perhaps, he will be an important breakthrough. You remember, allmovements about Thomas. Only report to me alone. Now, you go getme all the surveillance near the train station, as well as all the hotelregistration records, and their surveillance. The sooner the better,Thomas suddenly appears in the vicinity of the train station, I think hewill not stay long. We must hurry up!"
Karl instructed carefully.
"Understood." Sergeant Allen replied.
Karl picked up his phone and hurriedly sent a message back to Juanita,“I'm working late and can't get away."
Whirling around, he tossed the phone on the table.
He suspected that there were their men in the police station, and hemust make sure no one else could know about Thomas’ appearance. He did not want to alert the murderer, but it would be time-consumingand laborious for Allen alone to check the surveillance, so he must workwith him.
Soon, Allen got everything back.
Karl opened one of his dedicated offices and together the two of themwent through the documents one by one.
The train station was monitored all around with numerous cameras andthere were a huge amount of people going in and out every day.
The amount of work involved was thus enormous.
Time flew by unnoticed.
Darkness fell and gloom enveloped the surroundings.
Suddenly, Karl's sharp eyes lit up as he caught a glimpse of a blackfigure in a hotel near the train station.
