You Hit My Heart
Chapter 512

“I don't mind. You don't have to tell me, it's your privacy, and don'tworry, I won't tell anyone else. Not even Juanita." Joyce smiled lightly, then her face sank again, "I just thought about the way Charlotteuncovered the white cloth on Rodney. Hey, just how could someone dielike that for no reason? I also saw him in Riveria Haze this afternoon.Somehow, although I only met him twice, and I barely knew him, hissudden death made me feel so hard in my heart. I just could not calmdown."

She raised her head slightly and looked into the hazy yellow streetlight, and surprisingly her eyes were slightly moist. Was it because she hadno relatives? Or did Charlotte's words also touch her deeply?

Charlotte cried on Rodney's body, “I grew up without any family, and Igrew up alone for over 20 years! It was so hard for me to finally replace myown family.”

A newly found family was lost again.

And she did not even know where or who her relatives were. Althoughshe had not fantasized about her relatives for a long time, at this timeshe indeed felt a sense of loss. She was envious that Charlotte couldreplace her family.

If she had such a mother, such a grandfather, and such a happy family, how good it would be.

Rodney's sudden and violent death also made her feel sad, and shefelt like she had lost her own loved one. What's wrong with her? Couldit be that she had become more and more sensitive and sad latelybecause of her pregnancy?

"Joyce, I actually think Rodney's death is a bit fishy." Karl changed thesubject to avoid her being too sad.

Joyce looked up sharply, "Really? Why didn't you point it out at thetime?"

"My instincts. Criminal police intuition. Although they could not replace anyevidence from the whole scene, however, with my experience, thiscould not be that simple. The Heath family is very special, if I do nothave definite evidence, the police can not intervene in the case. It willcreate a lot of trouble for the department. So I must be careful andcautious!" Karl said with a frown.

"What do you think? Mr. Heath falling with his back towards the stairs?"Joyce asked.

“Yes. I simulated the path of the fall and felt that Rodney fell with a lowcenter of gravity. He should be crouching down at the time and he fellbackward. That's why the back of his head hit the stairs in that position. If he fell backward standing he couldn't do it." He showed her with hishand.

"But crouching, how can a person fall backward when their center ofgravity is already low and only more stable?" Joyce shook her head, feeling it was quite impossible, "So, you felt that Rodney was pusheddown?"

"Hmm." Karl nodded, "But the coroner said the military has investigatedthe surveillance. I don't think it can be wrong. The military shouldn't beamateurs at such searches. At least if there was someone at home, they should know. That's why I didn't question it on the spot.”

“It reminded me of Stephanie's case."

Joyce let out a low sigh.

“It was my incompetence." Karl blamed himself.

"What are you talking about!" Joyce bumped Karl's arm hard, "You'rethe most serious, responsible cop I've ever met. You're a human being, not a god, so don't put too much pressure on yourself. Under the sky, there are so many things we don't know."

Unbeknownst to him, Joyce's actions all fell into the eyes of Luther notfar away.
