Chapter 295

Even though Sebastian had drunk the coffee, he still pushed Ann away and left despite the pain thedrug in his system was causing him.

With that, Emma's plan had fallen through.

She was a clever woman, and she knew that something like this could only be attempted one time.

There was still a chance of her being forgiven if it was a one-time thing.

Even the best of relationships would fall apart if she tried it another time.

The Hart Family was her backing. It was because of the shelter the Harts provided her that she wasable to live a carefree life.

The last thing Emma wanted was to get into a fight with Sebastian.

Still, she knew the reason he suddenly asked to meet her in the Hart Manor—he was here to settlesome scores.

In order for him to not hold grudges against her, she had come with the intention to make up for herwrongs.

Emma had warned Ann before they came here to lay low and sincerely beg for Sebastian'sforgiveness.

The instant Ann saw her mother's warning gaze that reminded her of her words before, she swiftly bit

her lip and lowered her eyes, preventing anyone from seeing the unwillingness and jealousy in hereyes.

She hated this!

Last night was such a good opportunity for her!

She had succeeded at making Sebastian drink the cup of drugged coffee, and he was showingreactions as well.

Thinking that her dream was finally about to come true, she had desperately thrown her arms aroundthe man of her dreams.

Instead, Sebastian pushed her away, and endured the alleged burning sensation one would feel whenthe drug had taken effect, and ran away!

He actually ran away!

Even though she was a beauty, who was scantily-clad as she tightly hugged him when he wasdrugged, he had unhesitantly pushed her away from him. He even kicked her before he ran out!

Ann loathed how it all turned out.

The drug she bought was of the newest formula. The seller had even told her that the drug was notonly potent, but effects could only be cured by women.

After the plan was successful, Ann had thought that her dream was about to come true, and she wouldbe with the man of her dreams.

She never would have expected him to run away right at the climax of her plan.

He had gotten away from her with the drug still in his system, and it coincidentally was a drug which theonly cure was women.

The drug must have gotten out of his system as he seemed to be doing much better after the night hadpassed. Does this mean that the drug I painstakingly put in his drink has ended up benefiting MadelineTaylor?

Ann's heart, so filled with hatred, felt like it had been smashed into pieces at the moment she came torealization.

With Ann still in the middle of her train of thoughts, Sebastian threw a glance at her as he sat downbeside Philip. "Dad, there are two things Maddie and I came here today to discuss with you."

The older man let out a hearty laugh at that. "What is it? Tell me," he urged.

He then added, "Why didn't you take a leave of absence for Aldo and Buddy and bring them over aswell? I didn't have time yesterday, or else I would have brought them here yesterday. I haven't seenthem in a long time. I miss them so much my internal organs are hurting."

Philip had been so busy lately that he hadn't had the time to see his beloved grandsons.

Even though they video-called each other everyday, he couldn't squeeze the children in his arms

through the screen.

He had the most squeezable grandsons with the plumpest cheeks and the softest hair.

Just the thought of how their baby fat felt against his touch made him wistful.

Upon hearing that, Sebastian was rather speechless. How come I have never heard Dad say hemissed me when I was away from home for a good 6 months when he kept pressuring me intomarriage?

Letting out a small cough, Sebastian said solemnly, "Dad, I am here to talk to you about something ofutmost importance. Please be more serious about this."

Philip's face immediately turned somber then. "I want to see my grandsons. This is the most seriousthing we can talk about," he demanded.

And once again, Sebastian was at a loss for words. Fine. I've lost. It is my fault for being the son whilehe is my father.

Resigned, Sebastian conceded, "I will bring the boys over if you aren't working overtime this weekend."

"I will try not to work overtime, but I can't promise yet. There are a lot of things going on these days."Philip sounded even more helpless than Sebastian.

Hearing that, Sebastian suggested again, "When are you taking a break? I will bring them over then."

"Isn't that a given?!" The older man glared at his son.

It was as though he was ready to make an enemy out of Sebastian if Sebastian didn't bring hisprecious grandsons over.

Sebastian couldn't help but feel it had been harder to get along with his father ever since he hadreunited with his sons.

The worst part was that the feeling had been intensifying with time!

"Enough. I don't want to talk about this anymore. This conversation pisses me off!" Philip finally showedSebastian mercy and let him off the hook. "Go on, tell me what important business you are here to talkabout."

Hearing that, Sebastian let out a relieved breath.

Philip was willing to give him a chance to talk about the issue at last!

With his body tilted, Sebastian asked, "Dad, remember how I told you I want to have a wedding withMaddie, and I need your help with choosing a few auspicious days? Have you chosen any?"

"Of course I have. How can I not take such a joyous occasion seriously?" Philip took out a piece of redpaper from his pocket and with a smile on his face, he unfolded it before he handed it to Sebastian. "Ihad someone check the alignment of the stars. These three dates are good for having your wedding.Remember to invite your in-laws to have a meal together, and let them choose a date out of these threeauspicious dates."

Ann's head immediately whipped up as she looked at Philip and Sebastian in disbelief. Her face had

turned pale as her whole body began to shake.

A wedding?

Sebastian is going to hold a wedding with Madeline?!

Before this, Sebastian and Madeline couldn't prove anything with their hidden marriage. It evenseemed like they were having fun playing house together because of the children.

Ann even thought that there might come a day when Sebastian would get tired or sick of Madeline andwould finally kick her aside.

Furthermore, Quincy and Joel were illegitimate children. They wouldn't have a high standing in the HartFamily.

But then, a wedding was a different case altogether.

Holding a wedding was equivalent to announcing to the public that Madeline was Sebastian's lawfullywedded wife, and was the future mistress of the Hart Family!

The children would earn their rightful place and name as members of the family as well.

As for Ann? Even if there was a chance to chase Madeline away from Sebastian's side in the future, she would still be the second wife.

Being called the second wife was definitely not as glamorous a position as the first wife.

As soon as she heard the news, she could feel a tingle on the back of her head. Her ears buzzed andher limbs turned cold.

Sebastian took the red paper from his father and handed it to Madeline after he took a look at it. "Findtime to talk to your parents about it and see when they are free," he informed her.

"Okay, I will." She nodded.

"You have to get it done as soon as possible!" Philip looked at her cheerfully and said, "I have urgedyou all along to hold the wedding quickly so that I can let those old pals of mine meet my preciousgrandsons, but you both have been dawdling for so long! The wait is killing me!"

Philip was infertile in his younger days. It took him until his middle age for him to get Sebastian. Someof his old friends around his age already had grandchildren who were going to college soon. Heremembered how Sebastian didn't even have a girlfriend when Philip still wasn't aware that he alreadyhad two grandsons.

How could he not get nervous about it?

But now, he finally had grandsons he could show off to his friends as well!

Not only were his grandsons beautiful children, they could easily be considered geniuses with theirintelligence. He couldn't wait to let everyone he knew know that he had grandsons.

However, the children's identities weren't exactly the most brag-worthy before this. Worried that somefoul-mouthed people would talk behind the children's back about how they were illegitimate children,Philip had no choice but to hold it in, and only told a few of his closest friends about this.

All he had to do now was wait for the wedding, and he could finally freely tell the world that he had notone grandson, but two!

Ann's heart felt icy cold as she looked at the ecstatic look on Philip's face.

She had spent a lot of time and effort on Philip by honoring and respecting him as if he was one of herancestors over the years.

It only turned out that she was never someone important to Philip.

The man didn't even care about what she felt or who she liked, or who she wanted to get married to.

He only had his eyes for Sebastian and his grandchildren.

She couldn't comprehend how such a kind-looking old man could be so heartless and hard to warm upto.
