THIRD PERSON POV:

"Hazel," Ryder called out, rushing to her as she stood still with her feet planted on the ground.

She found herself unable to move, and as Ryder's hand touched her arm, she felt a chill up her spine. Why was this happening to her? She questioned herself as tears formed in her eyes.

Her heart was heavy, and she tried to fight the tears, but she couldn't. It was true Noah had been terrible to her as a mate, but did he have to die? Did everyone around her have to die? Who was next? She questioned herself as Ryder wrapped his arms around her, placing her head on his chest.

"It's okay, Hazel. It wasn't your fault, and he was a douchebag, so you can't cry over him," he said as he patted her hair gently.

Hazel remained in the comfort of his arms while the twins closed in on them.

"Ryder's right, and even though death is too much of a punishment, you can't cry over him because it wasn't your fault," Kai chipped in.

"No, no. I could have done something, and I should have done something when Fae sent that message. I killed someone, and I hurt two people that I care about, so I'm a monster," she said, and Ryder pressed her head into his chest so she wouldn't speak again.

The triplets glanced at each other with their faces drawn down. There was a lot of tragedy surrounding this event, and Fae had gone too far.

"We have to tell Principal Evelyn," Hazel said in a muffled tone, as her head was buried in Ryder's shirt.

Ryder pulled her away from his body. "What?" he asked, and she repeated herself. Then they all shook their heads.

"Fae will get away with this one easily, because there is no evidence, and we don't even know what attacked them yet," ," Finn said, and Kai chipped in.

"Plus, we weren't even supposed to be there. Apparently, we're the only students who know about Noah's death, and they're planning to wipe our memory of last night, so we won't remember anything about it. Bringing up Fae would do little to nothing."

Ryder let go of Hazel, and they both stared at the twins with their mouths ajar.

"They what?" Hazel asked, raising her voice. "I hate the guts of these people. Just because they're our guardians, don't make them smarter. If I were the principal, Fae wouldn't be a student. As a matter of fact, she would be behind bars because she gets away with everything, and that keeps feeding the monster in her."

"Bella!" Ryder said, and their eyes widened.

They all stopped talking, racing down the hall to Bella's room. Ryder pulled the door open at once to see Bella seated on her bed with her eyes glued to the television set in front of her, chuckling at the program on display.

"Has anyone been in this room since we left?" Kai asked, walking up to her, and Bella grabbed the remote on the bed, clicking it to pause the show on TV as she stared at the four of them.

"No one's been here, and if you'll excuse me, I have to watch this," she said, attempting to click the continue button when Ryder rushed up to her, grabbing her hand.

He twisted her face to the side, looking around her as though he were looking for a clue.

"Hey, get your hands off me!" she slapped his hands away, then huffed, dropping the remote on the bed with her brows creased. "What's gotten into you four?"

"Do

you

remember what happened last night?" Finn asked, and she sighed.

She told the story from how she had gotten a text fror Hazel to me up with her in the woods, then she ended by saying, "... and if you mean getting chased by rogue wolves and almost dying, then yes, I can remember it vividly."

Their racing hearts came to a halt. Then she rolled her eyes. "If you'll excuse me, I have a movie to get to, and I don't want to be disturbed."

"Noah's dead. Those guys killed him last night."

When these words came out of Hazel's mouth, Bella's mind froze, taking her back to the previous night.

FLASHBACK:

"Hey, who's there?" Bella asked as she stepped deep into the woods.

Harsh rays from a torchlight suddenly captured her eyes up ahead, causing her to groan.

"Were you not taught to use a flashlight?" she asked whoever it was, and the person shut the light off.

"I'm sorry, Bella," Noah said, and Bella felt a tinge of anger course through her veins.

She still hated him, and it didn't matter how long it had been since the rejection. She had watched him do it, and the grudge would remain forever.

"What are you doing here?" Noah asked, and she ignored him, making her way up ahead while he followed her. "I know you hate me, Bella, but I really need someone to talk to now. I feel like an outcast, and I barely have friends. Maybe you could help me speak to Hazel, please," he said, and Bella scoffed, turning to face him.

"The last thing I would do is that. Plus, move on. Hazel has a new mate, and he's hotter and better. If you'll excuse me, I have to meet with her, and I doubt she'd want to be with a low-life like you," she said, leaving him.

END OF FLASHBACK

Bella looked at the rest with her eyes reddening as tears clouded them.

"I know I hate Noah, but I don't think he deserves this, and he was going through a lot. Maybe I should have heard him out," she said, drawing her legs to her chest.

The triplets sat on the bed, patting her gently on her back. She took a deep breath, trying to forget what had happened while convincing herself he didn't matter to her.

"He's gone, and there's nothing we could have done to help him, but we must help ourselves," Ryder said, and they all nodded. "Our parents are trying to erase our memories, and we must replace a way to stop them," he added.

"I know a way, but we must do it quickly because we don't know when they'll strike," Hazel said, and they all turned to look at her...
