Bella:

When classes were over, Hazel walked over to me with her ever-smiley face.

"So, are you ready for your outing?" she asked, and I rolled my eyes, grabbing my tote bag.

She just had to remind me of the meeting I couldn't escape. I ignored her as we made our way down the hallway, but she wouldn't stop grinning from ear to ear in my face.

"Stop, please!" I said in a raised tone, and she came to a halt.

"I do not want to talk about it, and I'll decide whether I'll go or-"

"Bella," someone called out, and I looked up to see Kai standing in front of us in the hallway.

"Hey, I'm sorry, I can't talk now. I need to go to a meeting," I said, taking out the envelope from my bag and quickening my pace.

I checked the venue on the invite, then rushed out of the school building.

"I would accompany you, but I have an emergency meeting with my club about the upcoming carnival," Hazel said to

me.

There was a carnival?

"Thanks for the help," I said in a sarcastic tone as I headed to the school gate.

I had never left the school alone, and the last time was in an ambulance, so I was a bit scared. When I got there, I greeted the security man at the gate, then swiped my ID card on the machine in front of the gate. It beeped and showed successful.

"Have a nice day, ma'am," he said with a smile on his face, which I returned, rushing out through the enormous gates that opened by themselves.

Now I was out on the streets, staring at the cars that passed by, wondering if it was worth it.

"Taxi!" I flagged down the first blue taxi that I saw.

The color blue was significant to the Frost pack, so almost everything was embodied in this color.

"Where are you headed, ma'am?" the driver asked, and I handed him the paper containing the address, then he sped

off.

Shortly after, I arrived in front of a large apartment. I paid the taxi driver and walked to the front door. The doorman was overly welcoming and directed me to the floor the apartment was on. I got into the elevator, which took me strajaht to it: once it made a ding sound and opened up. I was eve to eve with Eae.

"What the hell are you doing here?" she asked in a hostile tone.

"I was invi-" I paused. "You know what, forget it," I said, attempting to click the button for the ground floor, but then I heard a girl yell.

"Fae, who is that?" someone asked.

"Just a fame-thirsty bitch!" she replied, and then I saw a pair of blue eyes pop up behind Fae.

"You are here!" the girl exclaimed with a huge smile on her lips, making Fae raise a brow with her face scrunched up. "You know her? Like know her, know her?" she asked the girl, and she shrugged, grabbing my hand.

"I'm Aubrey," she said as soon as the elevator closed. I opened my mouth to speak, but she placed a hand on my lips. "You are Bella Runestone. The almighty Bella, and I am delighted to have you over at my place. Come," she said, pulling me further to the living room, which had its ceiling stretched far with gigantic pillars around.

The sofa was pink, and the fireplace too. Everything about this place was aesthetically girly, and it made me wonder if she owned the place or lived with her parents.

She blabbed a lot as we walked, but I took nothing in except how beautiful the house looked. Finally, she came to a halt in front of a door, and then she grabbed the handle.

"The girls are going to love you," she said, and I feigned a smile as she opened the room.

My jaw fell to the floor as I walked into a room that was three times the size of the largest bedroom I had seen.

My eyes trailed around the room to her luxurious bed, which could contain ten people at once, and then her closet, which had a plush carpet in front. The furniture glittered with pink, and the wallpaper in the room looked like it was shipped from abroad.

"Bella!" a bunch of girls cooed, drawing me back to reality.

Aubrey took my hand, and we walked towards four girls who were scattered around the room.

"Hey," I said in a faint voice, and Fae hissed.

"Come on, Fae, lighten up. There is enough room for everyone. You can share your crown," a girl said, and she hissed further, throwing herself on the bed.

The girl who was seated in front of the dresser chewing gum while filing her nails got up. She walked up to me, surveying every inch of me.

"That's it, girls. She is the beauty standard now, so you better start eating."

"I would rather go on a date with the most hideous person in Howlstone than gain weight," Fae said, making a gagging sound, which made the girls chuckle.

I stood there, wondering why I had even come at all. Making friends seemed nice, but I couldn't tell if they were out to humiliate me or not.

"The diaries said your crown is slipping, and I wonder what will happen next when Bella begins to set trends," the girl said, and Fae jumped from the bed.

"Watch it!" she pointed a hairbrush at the girl. "You might have the power to invite and accept people being the head of the legislature, but I want to tell you that I am still your queen, and you have to respect me!" Fae yelled, and the three girls on the ground backed away.

I recognized Tonia and her other minion, whose name I couldn't recall.

"You are in my house, remember, and if you do not want your sorry ass back to your dorm room, then drop my brush!" the girl said in a vile tone.

"Fine!" Fae said, tossing the brush.

Hopefully, it landed on the bed, and the slender, tall girl in front of me diverted her gaze back to me.

"I thought this was Aubrey's house?" I asked.

"We are sisters," Aubrey said with a grin, but the girl in front of me rolled her eyes while I glanced at them both to see the canny resemblance. Their eye, Ocean blue.

"I'm Rebby, and this is my place. Every girl who makes the hottest positive news in school must be in this club, and

we are sisters here. We have each other's backs," she said, and I opened my mouth to speak, but the words weren't coming.

More like backstabbers. Fae treated Tonia and the other girl like shit.

"You already know Fae and Aubrey." She said, then she pointed at the girls who were sitting on the floor, painting on a canvas. "This is Tonia, Chelsea, and Pearl," she said, pointing at the girls.

Pearl was the second minion, and Chelsea was the girl Fae kicked out of cheerleading.

"Hi," I said in a low tone as they waved at me.

"Now, we have a lot of tasks ahead of us. As you can see, these three are busy helping our dear sister Aubrey, who was challenged by a girl during art class. There will be a mini exhibition to choose those that would represent the school during the upcoming carnival, and we can't let them go scot-free after what they did to Aubrey, can we, girls?" she asked, and they chorused a no, accompanied by laughter.

This was mean, but I was in their midst, and I didn't want to get chewed up.

"So, I'm here now. What do I do? Join in taking down an innocent soul who has probably done nothing to you?" I asked, and they paused and glared at me.

"I'll take that as a slip because you are new, and you are forgiven," Rebby said, squinting her eyes, and I gave a faint smile. "You haven't even passed the test yet, so you can be booted out anytime, but you are pretty and popular."

The praises were becoming ear-draining, and I wanted her to go straight to the test.

This was no way to deal with them, I said to myself, so I swore to do everything to get in.

"So, the test. I kind of have a lot of things to do in school with my extra credits and-"

"When you have minions, they'll do it for you. Like Tonia and Pearl. The perks of being queen," Fae said, admiring her nails before ending with a hair flip.

She disgusted me.

"I think I'm smart enough to do that."

When I said this, Chelsea chuckled.

"She isn't queen here, and I'll kick you out for good if you don't shut your mouth!" she roared at Chelsea.

"Back to what we were saying. You'll need to get a special frozen blue flower, which blooms at the end of the abandoned Labyrinth in school," Rebby said, and I stared at her without a word. "The flower is a symbol of life for the frost pack, and the Labyrinth is there to confuse those who would want to take the entire thing for themselves, but I need you to pluck just one, and we are good. Is that something you can do?"

My silence was mistaken for weakness by Fae.

"Mute. I knew you were a coward," she said, and I chuckled.

"I would hate to steal the name from you."

The girls held back their laughter at my comeback.

"I will get it to you first thing tomorrow morning, but what is in it for me? Joining your lame club isn't enough reason

for me to go into a Labyrinth," I said, and they looked at each other.

"Fine, we will offer you the crown," Rebby said and Fae's mouth flew open.

"What? You can't be serious."

"Challenge accepted," I said, walking away before Fae could blow off.
